Look of the day #105

LOTD

Hi friends! Happy Thursday!

Yesterday, I got a bit of a break to celebrate my 21stbirthday, but today it’s back to work and back to the daily grind! I have another outfit that is perfect for the workplace! I work in an office during the summer, so I am all about business casual outfits and outfits that are professional for the office.

Cheesing because the sun is finally shining

Today’s outfit is more on the comfortable side of things, but still professional. Growing up, I wore khakis a lot, especially for school, hello uniform! When I went to college, khakis and I needed to take a break from each other, haha! However, khakis are coming back for outfits in the workplace. I got these khakis from Target, believe it or not. I had to borrow a pair of khakis from one of my friends when I was at school and I loved them so much, I bought a pair for myself. I don’t wear them every day, but they are durable, and everyone should have a pair in their wardrobe.

On this particular day that I wore this outfit, I had to run errands, so I opted for a cotton knit striped shirt from GAP as opposed to a blouse, I did however, have a cardigan since it can get chilly at work.

I rounded off my outfit with my suede pumps from Shoe Carnival, I know, it’s May and they should be put away but it’s still chilly outside and I’m not ready to break out open toe shoes yet every day! Haha!

More than ready for summer!

That’s the full breakdown for this outfit, very simple and affordable. Most importantly, it can be worn in various jobs, whether you are teacher, working in an office or another place of business. Where would you wear this outfit? Have a beautiful weekend! Get off the computer and get outside!

Look of the Day #93

LOTD

Hi All! I can’t believe my trip overseas is almost over! I will be sharing everything about my time away when I come back, until then I have an easy look of the day. I didn’t even plan on making this a look of the day but after I put it all together I couldn’t resist making this into a post. This outfit is pretty typical of what I wear to class on an average day. Some days, I dress it up, others are more casual but jeans, a fun shirt, sweater, and boots are pretty standard for the winter months. Let’s get to the details!

Casual and practical

In this outfit, I am wearing my go to straight jeans from Old Navy. I wear these at least once a week (one of the reasons I talk about them so much), they are long lasting, durable, and so versatile that I feel I can wear them with anything. For example, because they are a straight cut jean I can easily wear them with a high heeled boot with no discomfort through the day. I have been getting so much use out of these boots this fall and winter. The heel isn’t too high, so I can wear them often, but they also really dress up an outfit. I got mine from DSWand they were a total game changer. I highly recommend going at the end of season to get the best deals for clothes, shoes, and accessories for next season.

Up close of the shirt and sweater

I always like to stock up on neutral long and short sleeve shirts for the seasons. I typically go with white and black but every once in a while I like to change it up with stripes or more colors. I got this V-Neck long sleeve shirt from GAPafter Christmas and it was on sale for $8-major score! I had an older black and white stripped shirt that needed to be retired so I was more than happy to get a new one in my collection. Lastly, anyone we knows me, knows that I am always cold, even in the summer I have a sweater with me. I saw this cardigan on sale at Old Navyand I knew I had to get it. It was also on sale and I have utilized it so much since I got it. I have worn it more with professional looks but I like how it looks dressed down. Also, although it may seem like this is a sponsored post by Gap or Old Navy, I swear it isn’t. I just really like their clothes and I wear them often!

The whole outfit put together

I was really happy with how this outfit came out, like I said I was not planning on even making this into a post hence the mirror picture, but once I saw it all together I knew I had to document it. I can’t wait to be back to blogging next week sharing all about my trip.

Until then, have a great weekend!

Look of the Day #25

LOTD

I am loving this outfit for the look of the day. This is a much more hip and edgy look, but I like to step out of my comfort zone and try new things even when it comes to clothes. My whole outfit is from Francesca’s Boutique. This is perfect for a fall day and if it gets colder, grab a jacket and you are good to go.

Let’s start with the shoes, these are my favorite black leather short booties. I have had them for a few years and the are so comfortable plus they can go with so many outfits, from jeans, to leggings, dresses and skirts. These are my favorite black heel. If you are not a heel fan, a pair of high black boots would work great as well.

My black skinny jeans are from Francesca’s. The tight jeans work well with the tighter shirt. I also like the few rips in the jeans, they are not taking over the outfit, but it’s enough to add a more edgy look to it.

The shirt goes great with any pair of pants but I paired it with these jeans due to the contrast between them. It is sleeveless so if you do get cold fast then I would recommend a short black jacket. The shirt is perfect for days when its cold in the morning but hot in the afternnon.

You can wear this outfit in any season but I prefer to wear it in fall or winter because they are very dark colors. This outfit is great for going out to dinner or going shopping. Where would you wear this outfit?
