Look of the Day #123

LOTD

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! This has been a busy week but I am ready for the weekend. It’s my school’s homecoming weekend so I am very excited to see old friends, spend time with family and get in the school spirit for the weekend. It will be a fun time. Before I get to all the fun this weekend, I want to share an outfit that I wore last week and immediately fell in love with it and had to share!

This outfit is perfect for meetings and presentations and going to class and even good for a day at the office.

This last semester has been a very busy one, between classes, work, meetings and applying for jobs, every day is different. I like to choose outfits that can be versatile for the day, no matter what I am doing.

Ready for the day.

I got these dress pants from The Limited. I love that they are comfortable and wash well but also are a dress pant. I do have a lot of black in my wardrobe, so the navy blue breaks up my style.

I opted for a simple white shirt for my top. I got this top from GAP, and I love the material and how it still looks new after several washes. White and black shirts are a must in my closet.

The whole ensemble

I decided to add a pop of color to my outfit with this red blazer. I love this blazer because you can wear it in any season, its light for summer, warm for fall, festive for winter and Christmas and then bright for spring. It can also dress up a dress, dress pants or a skirt. I love to wear it when I need to change up what I have been wearing.

I added suede shoe boots for this outfit to get into the fall spirit, plus it also adds height to my outfit. I got these shoe boots from Shoe Carnival and they have held up so well through the years.

I decided to finish off my outfit with silver jewelry and red lipstick with neutral makeup to match the jacket.

Red nails for the win

Overall, this outfit was chic and effortless to pull off. It worked perfect for days when I had a lot going on and it worked for every function I had to attend.

I hope you all kick off October this weekend by doing something fun. Happy Fall friends!

Look of the day #105

LOTD

Hi friends! Happy Thursday!

Yesterday, I got a bit of a break to celebrate my 21stbirthday, but today it’s back to work and back to the daily grind! I have another outfit that is perfect for the workplace! I work in an office during the summer, so I am all about business casual outfits and outfits that are professional for the office.

Cheesing because the sun is finally shining

Today’s outfit is more on the comfortable side of things, but still professional. Growing up, I wore khakis a lot, especially for school, hello uniform! When I went to college, khakis and I needed to take a break from each other, haha! However, khakis are coming back for outfits in the workplace. I got these khakis from Target, believe it or not. I had to borrow a pair of khakis from one of my friends when I was at school and I loved them so much, I bought a pair for myself. I don’t wear them every day, but they are durable, and everyone should have a pair in their wardrobe.

On this particular day that I wore this outfit, I had to run errands, so I opted for a cotton knit striped shirt from GAP as opposed to a blouse, I did however, have a cardigan since it can get chilly at work.

I rounded off my outfit with my suede pumps from Shoe Carnival, I know, it’s May and they should be put away but it’s still chilly outside and I’m not ready to break out open toe shoes yet every day! Haha!

More than ready for summer!

That’s the full breakdown for this outfit, very simple and affordable. Most importantly, it can be worn in various jobs, whether you are teacher, working in an office or another place of business. Where would you wear this outfit? Have a beautiful weekend! Get off the computer and get outside!

Look of the Day #81

LOTD

Hello All!

Depending on when you read this I am either in the middle of taking my last final or have already finished it. Yay!! I have to stay for work until tomorrow and then it is home for Christmas break, I can hardly wait.

A little background about today’s look of the day. I wasn’t planning on sharing this outfit, but when I put it on I couldn’t resist sharing it. I apologize for the mirror selfie but this outfit screamed Christmas and with the holiday quickly approaching I think this would be the perfect opportunity to share this look.

Festive for the Holidays

This outfit is fairly simple. I am wearing my suede wedges from Shoe Carnival for this look.

These are my favorite dark wash, boot cut jeans from Old Navy. The boot cut looks works great with a low wedge.

This is my favorite long sleeve white t-shirt from Old Navy, I like how it is a simple V-neck so you can mix and match it with outfits. This may seem like a simple outfit of blue jeans and a white t-shirt but this scarf completely changes the outfit.

This is a blanket scarf but I tied it up so it can be worn over my top. The plaid is perfect for the holidays, and I always love a good monogram especially when its right out front. I topped off my outfit with a bright lip. I got this scarf as a gift a few years back and I always love to bring it out during the holidays.

I hope this look gets you into the Christmas spirit, we are getting closer and closer to the holidays. Good luck with all your last minute preparations for Christmas.

Look of the Day #80

LOTD

Happy Thursday!!

I can’t believe we are already in December!!! This year and semester has flown by. I honestly feel the older I get, the faster life goes by. Anyone else feel that?

The holiday season is in full swing which also means final season is right around the corner. I will be happy once finals are over so I can really enjoy the holiday season.

Today’s outfit is more for the professional.  I wore it a few weeks ago, I had classes, a few meetings, and I needed something that was professional but also functional.

Looking professional on the go

I got this blue top from Francesca’s Boutique over the summer but it still works great in the fall and early winter. I love the dark navy color and it goes great with my dark jeans.

Speaking of my jeans, these are my favorite boot cut jeans from Old Navy, the jeans I had worn for years, recently had to go, but I was able to pick up a new pair from Old Navy on sale. They fit just like the first pair, that’s something I love about Old Navy, they are always consistent with their fit and style.

I am wearing my suede shoe boots. I got these a few years ago from Shoe Carnival. The low wedge is practical for a busy day but it is also cute to top off an outfit.

Lastly, although it is hard to see in the picture, I decided to wear a long gold necklace to tie the whole outfit together.

I decided to pull my hair up in a high bun, I keep my hair down 90% of the time, but sometimes I like to change it up and pull it up with a high bun.

I hope this gives you some suggestions of an outfit to wear when you have a packed full day.

Have a great weekend and do something fun especially with the holiday season just beginning!

Look of the day #76

LOTD

Hello All!

Happy Thursday. We are hours away from the weekend. I hope you have something fun planned for your weekend. I’m looking forward to relaxing and getting ahead on some work this weekend. As much as I love to relax on the weekend I also use the weekend to be productive and work ahead for the upcoming week.

Today’s outfit is perfect is perfect for a day filled with classes and meetings. This past week, I had a few days where I went between class and meetings, I think I had 5 meetings in a day, it was chaotic to say the least, but at the end of the day I felt truly productive. This outfit would be perfect for a day like that. It was both professional but also casual.

Ready for a day on the go

I got these jeggings from Target, they are my favorite, go to jeggings. They are comfortable and casual, perfect for a busy day at school.

These little brown booties. I got mine from Shoe Carnival. I love that I can wear them in fall and winter.

I got this light tan blazer from Talbots, I’ll let you in on a secret, I stole it from my mom’s closet. I love the fit and it is the perfect light jacket for Fall and Spring. I only have a few more weeks to wear this jacket, then it will be time for a darker, heavier jacket.

I decided to have some fun with my shirt for under my jacket. I will admit I have a guilty pleasure for Keeping up with the Kardashian’s. I had the opportunity to go to their New York City store and got a shirt. I love the simplicity of the black shirt with the white writing.

I decided to accessorize with a black choker necklace and some tight French braids for my hair. I needed an outfit that was professional and also comfortable and this outfit did the trick.

What is your go-to for dressing professional? What are your plans for the upcoming weekend?

Look of the Day #44

LOTD

Hello and happy Thursday!

Today’s look of the day is giving me major Olivia Pope vibes. Any Scandal fans out there?! So crazy to think we are in the last season with only a few episodes left.

What a boss!!!

Okay, enough about tv, it’s back to fashion.  I had a busy day last week with a few meetings thrown into the schedule, so I needed an outfit that was professional, comfortable, and warm. After spending a good 10 minutes going through my clothes, I put something together that fit the criteria.

Perfect outfit for any professional.

I am wearing my favorite faux leather leggings from Target, which you wouldn’t even guess they were leggings by the look of them. I have had them for a few years and I haven’t had any trouble with them so far.

I paired them with my favorite and most comfortable suede wedges. I have been wearing these nonstop this season. I love how they are so versatile and can go with so many of my outfits. I got them on sale from Shoe Carnival last year and have been very happy with their quality.

I wore a long sleeve black top from GAP for my top although, with my scarf and blazer you couldn’t see it. I love GAP and Old Navy’s clothing especially their solid tees. I stock up on them when they are on sale. You can never have too many black or white long and short sleeve shirts.

Speaking of Old Navy, I got this scarf from there a few years ago, I have worn it with dresses, skirts, and even jeans. I love the neutral colors and pattern.

My blazer is my favorite part of my outfit. I got it on sale from Marshalls, a few years ago. Marshalls and T. J Maxx are go-to stores for me. I love the variety of clothes they have, and you can’t beat their markdowns, they are always having sales. I finished off my outfit with simple gold jewelry.

I do love pops of color, but sometimes, you just have to go with the simple, and neutral colors. I hope this showed you, that you don’t have to break the bank to look nice and professional AND, don’t be afraid to mix and match clothes.

Have a great weekend.
