Bringing Blazers into Outfits

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! Today, we are talking fashion, especially fall fashion. One of my favorite things about the fall season is layering clothing, from sweaters, to jewerly, even blazers, there’s so many fun ways to layer clothing and make your outfits cozy, comfortable and professional for fall.

When it comes to work outfits, wearing blazers is one of my favorite pieces of clothing to layer and accessorize. You can pair a blazer with dress pants, a skirt, even a dress. I love how one piece of clothing can tie a whole outfit together or completely change it.

Here’s a few ways that I incorporate blazers in my wardrobe.

With Dress Pants

I love wearing a blazer with dress pants to layer an outfit. Not only does it keep you warm, but it also looks more professional and put together. I got this blue blazer by J. Crew a few weeks ago and I couldn’t wait until the fall to wear it. I love how the neutral colors of the tan, blue and white. This is such a timeless and classic look that can be worn in any season. I also love the cut and fit of the jacket.

As a Pop of Color

Another fun way to wear a blazer is by using it to bring in a pop of color. Here’s the same dress pants and white top with a red blazer. Notice how even with the same pants and top, the blazer completely change the look of the outfit. That’s something I love about blazers, it changes the feel of the outfit.

Same basics, different blazer.

With a Skirt

This photo is from a few years ago, but I still wear this outfit to work. This gray blazer works great for a matching gray skirt or even black or gray dress pants. I like how a blazer can elevate the look of just a skirt and a blouse. This outfit works great for meetings or interviews or a day in the office. Even though the shades are a bit off, the blazer still works great.

With a Dress

This is more of a different look, but sometimes wearing a blazer with a dress could help double as a coat. It breaks up the the look of just one solid dress. I wore this light purple dress, but since there was a chill in the air, I added this black blazer as a jacket and for some dimension to the dress too.

Adding a blazer adds dimension and warmth to a simple dress.

Those are four easy ways to add a blazer to you wardrobe this fall season.

Look of the Day #123

LOTD

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! This has been a busy week but I am ready for the weekend. It’s my school’s homecoming weekend so I am very excited to see old friends, spend time with family and get in the school spirit for the weekend. It will be a fun time. Before I get to all the fun this weekend, I want to share an outfit that I wore last week and immediately fell in love with it and had to share!

This outfit is perfect for meetings and presentations and going to class and even good for a day at the office.

This last semester has been a very busy one, between classes, work, meetings and applying for jobs, every day is different. I like to choose outfits that can be versatile for the day, no matter what I am doing.

Ready for the day.

I got these dress pants from The Limited. I love that they are comfortable and wash well but also are a dress pant. I do have a lot of black in my wardrobe, so the navy blue breaks up my style.

I opted for a simple white shirt for my top. I got this top from GAP, and I love the material and how it still looks new after several washes. White and black shirts are a must in my closet.

The whole ensemble

I decided to add a pop of color to my outfit with this red blazer. I love this blazer because you can wear it in any season, its light for summer, warm for fall, festive for winter and Christmas and then bright for spring. It can also dress up a dress, dress pants or a skirt. I love to wear it when I need to change up what I have been wearing.

I added suede shoe boots for this outfit to get into the fall spirit, plus it also adds height to my outfit. I got these shoe boots from Shoe Carnival and they have held up so well through the years.

I decided to finish off my outfit with silver jewelry and red lipstick with neutral makeup to match the jacket.

Overall, this outfit was chic and effortless to pull off. It worked perfect for days when I had a lot going on and it worked for every function I had to attend.

I hope you all kick off October this weekend by doing something fun. Happy Fall friends!

Look of the Day #114

LOTD

Hey guys! I can’t believe it is August 1!? Where has the summer gone! This has been a packed full summer for me and I have loved everything I have done so far! I only have a few weeks left of summer before it’s back to school. I am going to make the most of the remaining weeks of summer.

I am so excited to share today’s outfit with you. I pieced it together with all things I already had in my wardrobe and I loved the end results. If you read my post on Tuesday, you may have caught that red is my favorite color, but I don’t wear a lot of it since it is so bold. I always jump at an opportunity to wear something fun and out of the box.

I started my outfit out with a white pair of capris. I got my favorite pair from American Eagle and love the cut and style, they can be worn dressed up or dressed down. I personally like to cuff mine at the bottom for a different look.  I am also wearing a Michael Kors belt that I got on sale from Marshalls! I love bringing out the black even more.

Who doesn’t love a pop of red!

Instead of wearing a black silk blouse, I opted for a solid black shirt from Old Navy. I love the fabric and it works better for running around.

This read blazer ties the whole outfit together. I typically only wear It around Christmas but have been wearing it more with dresses and pants in the spring and summer for a pop of color.

Lastly, how cute are these shoes?! I love the ruffles and how they can dress up an outfit. I have had these for a few years and love to break them out to change up my wardrobe.

I also accessorized with pearl studs and a pearl ring along with a silver necklace.
