Summer Outfit RoundUp

Hello all!! I canā€™t believe itā€™s August!!! Where has the summer gone?! I do have to say Iā€™ve been making the most of the summer days and nights. From walks, grilling nights, pool days and lots of ice cream. The summer months have also given me more opportunities to try new outfits and looks. Hereā€™s some of my favorite summer looks so far! This will be part of a new series every few months called Season Outfits Roundup. Every few months I will share different outfits I’m wearing for work or play or anything in between.

Most of these are work outfits/professional dresses for this roundup. But, I think between the style and the colors they can be worn for graduation parties, church, cocktail parties, etc. I have linked some of the dresses that I could find online, others I bought last season.

Outfit Number 1: I got this dress from Amazon. The brand is Musol. The fabric is polyester and spandex. I love the light lavender color. I think it could work great for spring or summer. The fabric is lightweight and it stretches to conform to any body type. I also love that its machine washable and fits true to size.

Full length dress.

I wore silver jewelry as accents and then pair of black pumps from Kelly and Katie.

Close up of the neckline and jewelry and makeup.

Outfit Number 2: For another work dress, this royal blue pops for summer. I got this dress from Ross last fall on the clearance rack and I couldn’t wait to wear it this summer. It’s actually a Calvin Klein and it’s all polyester, which is my favorite material/brand to wear at work. I also have the dress in a different style and color but same material because I loved the feel so much. I love the top/sleeves of the royal blue dress, I think that makes it a bit different and stand out. You DO need to dry clean this dress. It fits true to size. I decided once again to wear my black pumps from Kelly and Katie with silver jewelry again.

The full dress.
Same material but different style and color. I got this from Marshalls.

Outfit Number 3: I love a light blue for summer. I loved the color so much I got it in a longer sleeve dress too. I’ll share that one in the fall. I also got this dress from Amazon. The brand is MUXXN. This dress is perfect for spring and summer weather. The neckline is my favorite too. I like the uneven scope. You DO need to dry clean this dress as well. The material is a mix of Rayon, Cotton, and Spandex, so it’s a more stretchy material if that makes sense. I have this same fabric in an orange dress which I really like.

Full length of the dress
Close up of neckline and jewelry.
Different color and style but same material, purchased through Amazon
Again different style and color but same material. Also purchased through Amazon.

Outfit Number 4: Sometimes, you just want to throw on an easy dress while still looking professional and this does the trick. It’s both cotton and polyester. This is also an Amazon purchase. The brand is VFShow. I love the bold colors on the top of the blue, white and black. I like the soft material and the cuffed sleeves. You can throw this in the washer and dryer which makes clean-up even easier!

Outfit Number 5: I wouldn’t consider this last look as work look. I think this would be better for dinner and drinks out or maybe a picnic. I got this top from Marshall’s last summer and I love the soft pink color. The cross over tie is a fun twist on the top too. It’s also very flowy and light weight which is a win for summer. I got the capris from American Eagle, but I have worn white dress pants to dress the outfit up. To dress it down, you can wear sandals or sneakers, to dress it up I would recommend wearing heels.

That’s a roundup of some outfits I’ve been wearing this summer for work and play. I wear a lot more work clothes compared to play clothes haha! Amazon has been a great place for deal and fun colors and styles of dresses. I often have luck at Marshall’s, T.J.Maxx and Ross‘ too! Where are your favorite places to shop?!

Look of the Day #132

LOTD

Hi All!

Since my last post, I have finished finals, finished work and have been packing and saying my goodbyes at school. Itā€™s been a different week with no set schedule or routine, by I am taking it for what it is and enjoying all my moments at school. I canā€™t believe that I am days away from graduationā€¦ it is quite a surreal feeling. One thing that I have taken away from my time at college is to always dress for success and the appropriate ways to dress for an interview or work.

Today, Iā€™m showing an outfit that is perfect for a job interview. It is professional and appropriate. Before, I get into the details, here are a few tips for dressing for an interview

-Keep your makeup simple and soft, donā€™t overdo it. You are going to get a job, not a date out with friends.

-The same goes for outfit choice, you want to choose an outfit thatā€™s modest and appropriate.

-Always be prepared for any interview, bring your resume and reference with you as well as something to write with and a planner to be prepared.

-Do your research on the company you are interviewing at and don’t forget some questions too.

Now, onto the outfit. This is perfect for an interview or first day of work.

Job interview…check!

I got this outfit from all different stores, but they all fit great together.

Ā First, these pants are from Talbots, I like the cut and style of the pant. They are a straight cut that go right to the ankle, which allows you to wear a small pump or heel. I opted for the same heels I wore for Thanksgiving. A simple black heel with a gold buckle. Kelly and Katie are my go-to for good quality shoes. It looks professional but it also adds length to your overall outfit.Ā

My black top, is a short sleeveless blouse from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I often wear it in the summer, but I opted for the outfit since it matches the pants and the blazer.Ā

This blazer is one that I wear often for formal occasions. I got it from Marshalls a few years back and I have worn it with dresses, jeans, and dress pants to fit any outing that I have.Ā

When I wore this outfit, I felt put together and professional-two big things to keep in mind for job interviews and work.

Well, I am hours away from graduation day. I am planning on enjoying my last few days as a college student before itā€™s time for something new. I will see you back here on Tuesday for a very special post.

Until then, xoxo

Look of the Day #131

LOTD

Hey everyone!

I donā€™t know about you but I am ready for the holidays. It was so nice to be home for Thanksgiving and to relax and unwind with family, it was a busy but relaxing break. Now I have less than a week until I wrap up classes, finals, and then itā€™s graduation time. I canā€™t believe how fast this semester has gone. Truly, I have learned a lot both in and out of the classroom as well as about myself.

One of my favorite things to do when I am home is get in some retail therapy, whether itsā€™s clothes for work, school, or an occasion, I love seeing whatā€™s new in the stores. I was home a few weeks back and was doing some browsing. I am always on the hunt for new work dresses. Old Navy was having a sale and I knew I had to stop in. Iā€™m so glad I did, because I snagged this dress and it is going to be a must wear in my wardrobe especially for work  in the winter months.

I wore this outfit for Thanksgiving and I loved how effortless it is, but it still looks put together.

The cut and style of the dress is a favorite of mine. The A-line gives the dress a flattering look. It is professional but also dressy. You can wear this dress to work or to a holiday gathering or office party. This dress is timeless especially with the black and white detailing.

Due to the chiller weather, I opted for a short black sweater, also from Old Navy. This dress was originally short sleeve so I needed any extra layer and I was happy I chose it. I also made the decision for black tights and a short black heel. These heels are practical and still fashionable with the buckle. Not only are the cute, but also comfortable since they are from Kelly and Katie, I know I can depend on them.

This will be a go-to outfit in my closet for the winter months. What are some essential outfits in your closet during the winter months?!

Look of the Day #114

LOTD

Hey guys! I canā€™t believe it is August 1!? Where has the summer gone! This has been a packed full summer for me and I have loved everything I have done so far! I only have a few weeks left of summer before itā€™s back to school. I am going to make the most of the remaining weeks of summer.

I am so excited to share todayā€™s outfit with you. I pieced it together with all things I already had in my wardrobe and I loved the end results. If you read my post on Tuesday, you may have caught that red is my favorite color, but I donā€™t wear a lot of it since it is so bold. I always jump at an opportunity to wear something fun and out of the box.

I started my outfit out with a white pair of capris. I got my favorite pair from American Eagle and love the cut and style, they can be worn dressed up or dressed down. I personally like to cuff mine at the bottom for a different look.Ā  I am also wearing a Michael Kors belt that I got on sale from Marshalls! I love bringing out the black even more.

Who doesn’t love a pop of red!

Instead of wearing a black silk blouse, I opted for a solid black shirt from Old Navy. I love the fabric and it works better for running around.Ā

This read blazer ties the whole outfit together. I typically only wear It around Christmas but have been wearing it more with dresses and pants in the spring and summer for a pop of color.

Lastly, how cute are these shoes?! I love the ruffles and how they can dress up an outfit. I have had these for a few years and love to break them out to change up my wardrobe.Ā

I also accessorized with pearl studs and a pearl ring along with a silver necklace.

What are your thoughts on the outfit?! Love it? Too bold? Let me know in the comments below!

Look of the Day #113

LOTD

Hello All!

Happy Thursday! This summer has been flying by and Iā€™m trying to hold onto to the summer days as much as I can.

If you havenā€™t caught on yet, I have been alternating between fun summer outfits and business casual outfits for looks of the day. Last week, I shared a casual summer outfit and today I have a dress that I know can be worn in so many fashions.

Itā€™s no secret that I love Marshalls and find some of my favorite pieces there. I have had great luck with finding professional dresses as well as sun dresses.

This dress is one that I scored recently. I love the cut and style of the sheath dress and the shades of blue complement my skin tone.

I wore it to work with a pair of sandals and I felt comfortable and cute. However, add a pair of heels to dress it up for a dinner party.

A pair of heels and pearls for a dressed up look

Another suggestion is to swap heels for wedges for a more casual look and add a jean jacket for a cooler night.

Wedges and a jean jacket for a casual look

This is the perfect summer dress and Iā€™m so glad I got it when I did. I know I will be wearing this dress for years to come.

A pair of sandals by the pool

How are you spending your weekend? Enjoy the last few weeks of summer for they are fleeting!

Look of the Day #108

LOTD

Hey guys! How has your summer been? Busy? Restful? Mine is going wayyyy to fast, I need it to slow down. HAHA! Iā€™ve been trying to slow down on nights and during the weekends but itā€™s easier said than done. Can anyone relate?! Todayā€™s look of the day is another one for the office. The older I get, the more I choose clothes are that used more for the professional setting than casual. Gone are the summer days of shorts and t-shirts. Dress pants and dresses are what Iā€™m rocking nowadays.

All blue every day

I started todayā€™s look with a pair of dress navy blue pants from The Limited, they are great quality and can be worn in so many settings. You may remember, I wore them this past spring for a few award ceremonies I had. A pair of navy-blue trousers are a must for your wardrobe.Ā

I opted to wear them with a pair of navy-blue sling back heels I got from T.J. Maxx, what I love about these shoes is that they give you a little bit of height but nothing extreme, you can wear them all day and still be comfortable.Ā

Lastly, since my pants and shoes were so dark, I decided to add a lighter top to the mix. You may remember this top from Old Navy when I wore it in the winter with dark jeans and knee-high boots. This is light gold top that really dresses up an outfit. I wore it today with a much lighter look. I love shirts that are versatile. ā€˜

We love an outfit with versatility

Thatā€™s another look into what I am wearing. I promise to have more fun outfits for the weekend, but for now, I hope this shows how you can dress both professional while still looking cute!

Look of the Day #106

LOTD

Hi All!

Itā€™s Thursday and finally June! Today also happens to be two of my closets friendā€™s birthdays, my first and only roomie from college, Danielle, and my best friend from high school Madeline are both turning 21! I canā€™t wait to celebrate with both of them soon. I seriously donā€™t know where I would be without these gals and their unconditional love and friendship!

This weekend I am also going to be travelling to Pittsburgh to celebrate my birthday with all my college friends! I canā€™t wait!!! But before, I head out for the weekend, I have a few more days of work ahead of me. Todayā€™s look of the day is another business casual look for the office. I spend 90% of my day in the office so I am always putting together professional outfits and today is no different.

Letā€™s break down this professional look of the day!

For starters, I got these straight legged black dress pants from Old Navy, I was on the hunt for months for a nice dress pant that didnā€™t look like leggings, although I do wear leggings, the workplace is not the place for them. These dress pants are straight legged, professional, durable, all qualities I am looking for in a dress pant.

I opted for a simple pair of Mary Jane pumps from the Kelly and Katie collection at DSW. They do have a slight heel but very professional for the office, and VERY comfortable. I can wear them for 8-10 hours a day and have no serious pain.

Since I wore black dress pants and black shoes, I wanted to brighten up my look, I chose this pink/white/black blouse from Marshalls to wear with my outfit. It looks professional but also adds a pop of color!

A black blazer or white or black sweater would also be a great accessory. I added simple silver jewelry to polish off my look.

Thatā€™s a look into what I am wearing today at the office. Iā€™m off to wrap up these few days at work before my weekend away begins! See you all on Tuesday!

Look of the Day #90

LOTD

Hello All!

Happy Valentineā€™s day! Whether you are celebrating with a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, the girls, or even if you are single like myself I hope you take some time to enjoy this holiday if you celebrate it. I also hope you can spread some love to those around you and you get some love sent your direction.Ā

Todayā€™s outfit is perfect for Valentineā€™s Day with the perfect pink top. I love this outfit because it is perfect for a job interview, or day at the office. While I was home for Christmas break, I did some job shadowing and I wore this outfit.

I also got my headshots updated last week and I wore this outfit which was perfect for a professional photo to hopefully jumpstart my career. Letā€™s get into the details about where you can find this outfit without breaking the bank.

New headshots for senior year
Close up head shot-so happy with how they turned out
All dressed up for a day at the office

I got these dress pants from Old Navy believe it or not?! I was on the hunt for a pair of straight cut dress pants and after looking all over town, I found them at Old Navy at a great price. Last summer I was on the hunt for black dress pants. I was searching in stores and online but everything that kept coming up were tight and looked more like leggings. I really was looking for a more professional look and a straight leg. After numerous searches, I finally found these dress pants at Old Navy believe it or not. Not only do they fit to size and look professional, but they are also so comfortable. I have worn them a few other occasions and they are a must have for your collection.

I also wanted a nice sweater to go with my dress pants and I knew a light cardigan would go perfect with the top. I got this black one from Old Navy on sale. I have worn it with jeans and dress pants as well as dresses. Itā€™s a wonderful, versatile sweater that is perfect for a grown womenā€™s professional collection. It not only keeps you warm, but it also looks put together.Ā

My statement piece for this outfit is this fun pink top from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I know I have shared this top on here before, but I love the color and how you can truly dress it up with dress pants or a skirt and you can also pair it with jeans or leggings for a more casual look.

Lastly, my shoes are my favorite shoe boots that I wear all the time since they are comfortable and reliable.

I also have to share about my Michael Kors purse. I got it for my 16thbirthday. I use it for any job interview or shadowing as well as big meetings. It looks professional and it has a lot of storage to hold everything you need for a day at work.

A perfect look for job interviews and shadowing

I hope this inspires you to look outside of the box when it comes to shopping for professional clothing. Have a sweet and love filled Valentineā€™s Day. Sending you lots of love today and every day!

XOXO

Look of the Day #39

LOTD

Itā€™s Thursday!! We are halfway through February! This month is going by too fast. This was a very busy week, but I got a lot of fun things planned for the weekend.

Today, I have a different out for you look of the day. Last week I had a lot of meetings which meant a lot of dressing up. Hereā€™s an example of a business casual look I wore for an interview. I had a lot of these pieces already in my wardrobe it was just a matter of putting them all together. I wanted to look professional for my interview, but it also was the last thing of the day following a full day of classes with not enough time to change. I wore this outfit to all classes and then to an interview and dinner. I was comfortable the entire day and felt good about what I was wearing.

A more formal look for today.

I wore my simple black shoe boots from DSW. I chose these since they were comfortable, professional, and simple. I wore a pair of black tights to go with my simple, black cotton dress.

I got this dress from Old Navy a few years ago just to have as an extra dress and Iā€™m surprised how much Iā€™ve worn it. I have worn it to Mass, Work Interviews, Class Presentations, even Funerals. I have gotten a lot of wear out of this dress and it was one of the smartest purchases Iā€™ve made.

In order to break up the all lack of color, I wore a winter white sweater from the Scandal Style from The Limited Collection. I also paired a long necklace and pearl earrings to top off the look.

I am always looking for new ways to pull outfits together. When it comes to solid colors, you can mix and match them. Thereā€™s no better feeling than pulling a new outfit together with things you already have. I hope this draws some inspiration for the next time you wear a little black dress out.

Have a wonderful weekend!
