Friday Favorites #98

Hello Everyone and a Happy Friday to You!

I hope you are having a great summer week and are doing something fun for the weekend.Ā  I took advantage of the calm weather and enjoyed a beautiful morning walk this past week! Plus, yesterday was in the 80’s and I did as much as I could outside, even laundry and computer work.

Before we get to all the weekend happenings, I wanted to share some things with you that I have been loving. Let’s dive right in as I link up with Erika and Andrea.

Pink Suit– This may be one of my favorite work purchases in a long time. I was on the hunt for a matching suit for months. I was looking for a dark blue, or a black or even gray matching suit. However, once I saw this matching pink suit at J. Crew I knew I had to get it. I love the cut and style of the suit, but more importantly, I love the boldness of the pink. Now, I wouldn’t wear this every day, but it is a great outfit to wear when you want to make a statement. I also love that you can swap out what blouse you wear under it, you can choose from a classic white, a navy, or even a black. You can even just wear the pants and a blouse and forgo the blazer and wear the bold pants with a solid or a floral top. This has been a favorite purchase that I know I will get a lot of good use out of.

Kate Spade Jewelry– Another fashion favorite, I got this matching Kate Spade jewelry set for my birthday and have been having so much fun finding different outfits to wear them with. I love the glitz and glam with the sparkles, but also appreciate that the necklace and earrings aren’t too overwhelming. I think you can really dress up any solid dress or top with these items. They are fun for a girl’s night out or a date night.Ā

New Season of Books Beach and Beyond- One of my favorite podcasts returned for a second season. Books, Beach and Beyond is by Elin Hilderbrand and Tim Ehrenberg. They talk all things, books, authors, Nantucket, and publications. I found this podcast last winter and was so happy when they announced they would be back for another season. I always find new authors and book recommendations from them and I canā€™t wait to listen to the weekly episodes during my weekly runs.Ā Their guest this week was Sarah Jessica Parker, so fun! Plus, Hilderbrand gives scoop into her books and life as an author.

New summer spray and lotion– Although, they arenā€™t the same scent, Iā€™m very excited to start using these scents from Bath and Body Works. They complement each other very well. I got a lot of new scents from the Bridgerton for hand sanitizers to room scents, that I canā€™t wait to try, but until then I needed something summery and fresh. I love anything lemon so I know this lotion will be a hit and this body spray will be perfect for hot summer days. I canā€™t wait to start using them.

Bridgerton Season 3 Part Two– The second part of season 3 of Bridgerton dropped yesterday. I haven’t started it yet, but I plan to this weekend. I loved the first half of season 3 and I can’t wait to see where the second half takes us. The only downside is that there are four episodes and Bridgerton won’t be back until 2026! I wish it wasn’t that long of a wait, so I’m hoping these episodes tie me over until then.

Thatā€™s a look into what Iā€™ve been loving lately. Tell me: hat are some of your favorite things from this past week? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites #70

Happy Friday and happy first week of December! The Christmas season is here and I am here for it. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this time of year! My holiday calendar is slowly filling up and it begins this weekend with a Christmas concert, I can’t wait!

All is calm, all is bright.

As we begin the weekend, here’s some things that I have been loving this week as I link up with Erika and Andrea or a fun roundup of Friday Favorites!

Credentialed Podcast– I am slowly jumping on the podcast bandwagon. Certain podcasts, I will listen to on the day they come out, while others, I will listen to when I have the time. I recently started listening to the Credentialed podcast by Justine Ward and Jillian Mele, they are two former reporters who decided to go back to school to get their MBA’s. There’s only a few episodes out and most of them have been about their background and decision to leave the news business. While I love my job, it’s been interesting to hear their stories and decisions to pursue other careers. Definitely worth the listen if you are interested in news, sports, or making a career change.

Fall/Winter Dress– I picked up this Calvin Klein dress from Marshall’s and it’s the perfect dress for fall and winter. I love the color (it’s a mix between a dark orange and light red), the style could work in the fall and winter with or without a blazer depending on the weather and it fits true to size. You can easily wear this to a cocktail party, to church or even dress it up with pumps and some bold jewelry for a holiday party.

Plus, it pairs great with a bright red jacket.

You can’t go wrong with red jacket!

Virgin River Returns– After the fall premiere, Virgin River released some holiday episodes/ specials. I haven’t had a chance to watch the episodes yet, but I plan on starting them this weekend. I like how they planned for some episodes mid hiatus. Not only does the series continue with some updates but I can’t resist a good holiday themed episode. I’m looking forward to cozying up by the fire and catching up. If you have watched or are planning to watch, what are your thoughts so far?

Pinterest Christmas Ideas– Pinterest has been one of my favorite apps lately for all things holiday fun. I have been scouring it for Christmas recipes, holiday decoration ideas and just holiday scenes. I have found recipes to bake, meals to try, and hot cocoa drinks to taste. I always find such creative ideas on Pinterest for the holidays and it really gets my creative juices flowing when it comes to trying new things. You can follow my board here.

Tell me: what’s something fun you have tried from Pinterest?

Side Dish Meme– Ending Friday Favorites with this meme I saw on Facebook. If you have lots of holiday parties or get-togethers coming up, this is your reminder to give yourself some grace.  I love to spend time in the kitchen cooking and baking, but it’s not for everyone. If cooking and baking causes you stress, alleviate some of that by heading to the store and picking up something pre-made to bring to your holiday part. The holidays are meant to be a time to spend time with family and friends and soak up traditions, try not to stress about the little things. December can be hectic and busy, give yourself permission for grace this holiday season.

That’s a look into life lately, lots of fun and festive things, plus a laugh or too! I hope you have a wonderful and festive first weekend of December!

Summer Closet Refresh

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week so far!

At the start of the summer season, I did a bit of a closet refresher for some work clothes. Whenever I am out and about I always see what dresses or tops are in stock at Marshall’s or T.J. Maxx, but back in May, I made a trip to the outlets to get some deals and get a few clothing staples.

Here’s a bit of a summer clothing roundup of outfits I have been loving this season and wearing to work. This is a mix of dresses, tops, pants, and blazers. I got a number of items of clothing for the fall season too and will share those once the weather gets cooler, but why rush the warm weather and sunshine? We all know the cold weather will be here soon enough.

Here’s some of my favorite new clothing items from a recent shopping haul.

J. Crew pink dress– Pink has been my go-to color for summer. I wore this dress for my birthday back in May and it has easily become a new favorite dress. I got it from J. Crew. It’s professional enough to wear to work, but could also be a great dress to wear to a bridal or baby shower, a cocktail hour or even a wedding depending on the dress code. Some of my favorite details include the V-neck top, and the flowly-ness of the bottom. You can dress it up with a pair of heels or dress it down with sandals. I would tend to dress it up for a fun summer occasion.

J. Crew Coral Pants and White Blazer-I teased this outfit a few weeks ago, but here’s a full look of this blazer and pant combo. Both the white linen blazer and coral/pink pants are from J. Crew. The black and white top is a few years old from Calvin Klein.  I have been adding more blazers to my collection. So far, I have a black, navy, tan, red and now white blazer, all great colors to mix and match with dress pants. I think this white linen blazer is great for the summer season. I paired it with the pink pants which just makes the outfit fun, but you can pair this blazer with navy or black pants.

These pants have been so fun to mix in with my wardrobe. I told you pink has been my color this summer. It can be a hard to find a top to go with a pair of bold pants, but I have found neutrals go best. I wore the black and white top with it, a plain black top and a plain white blouse.

I typically go with neutral pants, but these bold pants are fun for summer and are professional too. Once again, I wore white heels from DSW to match the blazer and white piping in the top, but you can wear a neutral or even pop of color heel with them too. If you are looking for a more comfortable look, you can dress the outfit down with sandals or a white or black sneaker too.

J. Crew Sweater Set-This next look is a bit more conservative and would probably be best worn in the office. I love a classic sweater set and light blue has been my other go-to color this summer (remember the tennis skirt and dress from Amazon?). I love the matching short sleeve and long sleeve sweater. I am always cold no matter the temperature outside, you can catch me with a sweater on most days at my desk. This matching sweater set kills two birds with one stone, not only is it professional, but comfortable and you can shed a layer if the temperature changes through the day. Once again, I wore white pants with this sweater set, but you can wear navy blue pants or maybe even a tan, depending on the color. You can also match this sweater set with a navy skirt too.

Ann Taylor Floral Top-Back with the pink, but throw in some white. I really love Ann Taylor for their tops. They always have so many different prints and colors to add to a dress pant or even blazer combo. In this outfit, I paired this floral top with a pair of navy blue pants and heels. The top is sold out, but here is one similar. You can pair this top with a pair of white pants, black pants or even a neutral skirt. I love the colors in the top and the little bow too. This would work great for a day in the office as it pairs well with suits and skirts, but I still think you could pair with some capris if you want to elevate a casual look.

Ann Taylor Purple Top– When I saw the color of this top, I knew I had to get it. I have purple tops and pink blouses, but not this shade of the two. I am always on the hunt for bright tops and patterns, and this certainly checks the boxes. I actually have this same top in white and when you find something you like and that works for you, there’s no shame in getting it in another color or two. Unfortunately, it’s sold out, so I don’t have a link for it. Because it’s a brighter and bold color, I would recommend a neutral pant or skirt, white would be best in the summer and black would work well in the winter. As far as skirts go, any neutral works well. If you want to dress up a casual look, you can pair this top with some fun jewelry and capris (I would recommend white capris or jeans), then add some fun sandals or made a pair of cute sneakers.

That’s a peak into my closet with my summer wardrobe for work clothes.

Tell me, have you made any fun clothing purchases recently? What stores or brands are you loving?

Let me know in the comments below!

See you on Friday for another edition of Friday Favorites!

Friday Favorites #44

Happy Friday friends and happy JUNE! This week went so fast and it was so busy! We kicked off my birthday on Monday with Memorial Day which was so fun! Then we had a few family events this week, so I was ready for my weekend!

Surprise birthday flowers still going strong!

Todayā€™s Friday favorites are so fun for the start of summer as I link up with Erika and Andrea!

J.Crew Haul– I did some retail therapy for some new work clothes last week and was so happy with some recent J. Crew purchases. I got some great blazers, pants, tops and dresses. It was such a successful day at the outlets. I canā€™t wait to share some of my outfits soon in a few weeks, but hereā€™s a sneak peek. I canā€™t wait to wear these fun pants and a blazer this summer. Very professional but also fun for summer!

New Kylie Cosmetics Lip Color– I always enjoy trying some new makeup, but I do like to stick with what I know and love. I have really enjoyed Kylie Cosmetics for the lip kits, colors, and how long lasting they are. I have been on the hunt for a bright, pink and finally found it. This color is perfect for summer and can be great for work or play. I have ordered Kyle Cosmetics online, but now that you can get products at Ulta Beauty, it makes it so much easier to pick out colors and makeup options. This will be a summer favorite for sure!

Summer Planting– Over Memorial Day weekend, I made my way to the greenhouse for some summer flowers! I love the smell, colors and creativity that comes with a greenhouse. I picked out some flowers to help my mom with some of our pots. Although it’s a lot of hard work, the end result of a summer full of flowers is worth it. I also picked out some items for another summer project this summer. Stay tuned!

Love Again– Ahead of my birthday, my mom and I went to see Love Again in the theaters. We went to a matinee and were the only ones there. So fun! The movie stars Sam Heughan (hello Outlander fans) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The movie is all about two people getting connected and finding Love Again. Thereā€™s a few unexpected twists in the movie and some surprise cameos. One of my favorite parts was all the Celin Dion songs (she stars in it too!) Definitely a new favorite, rom com!

Ted Lasso finale-This past week was the season 3 finale on Ted Lasso and wow, what a finale, dare I say series finale! My boyfriend and I started binge-watching the show at the beginning of the year and watched it right up to the start of season 3 and we have been watching the new episode every week. This season had some up and down episodes, but overall, I thought the last few episodes were really strong. This has been such a fun show to watch. If you watched the last episode, what did you think?! This article breaks down what happened. Warning: Spoilers!

There you have it! A fun roundup of shows, products and movies as we kick off June! Tell me what things do you have planned for the first month of summer? Let me know in the comments below!!

Happy First Weekend of JUNE!

Friday Favorites #10

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week and are ready for the weekend! Iā€™ve been enjoying all the fall fun between getting outdoors and staying cozy inside on the weekends. Iā€™m linking up with  Erika and Andrea for todayā€™s Friday Favorites. Hereā€™s some things Iā€™m loving this week.

  • Guacamole Chips– I always love trying new things that I see at the store. I was at Marshallā€™s a few weeks back and was looking through their food aisle and came across these guacamole chips. I always enjoy chips and guac but was excited and intrigued to see the pairing together. I picked up a bag and tried it with Taco Tuesday last week and it was a hit. I personally think you can eat them on their own without dips or sauces. 10/10 recommend!
  • Apple Picking-I checked apple picking off my fall bucket list and had so much fun doing it. I collected three different kinds of apples and have already enjoyed eating them on their own and in apple pie, yum!
  • Calvin Klein Dress– I got this new Calvin Klein dress from Marshallā€™s and wore it out this past week to a fundraiser. I love the cut and style of it, but I really like how itā€™s the perfect transitional dress. It works great as we go from summer to fall with the short sleeves but leather look. Calvin Klein is always my go-to for dresses and they never disappoint.
  • Changing Leaves– It may sound silly, but I went on a fall drive last week and I loved seeing all the changing leaves. It seemed like fall snuck up on us, but now that itā€™s here, Iā€™ve been loving it. From hot apple cider to turning on the fireplace to leaning into the coziness. Iā€™m here for it!
  • All We Ever Wanted Iā€™ve been on an Emily Griffin kick recently and loved her book, “All We Ever Wanted”. It’s new to me, but a few years old. Iā€™ve read Baby Proof and didnā€™t know what to expect with this book. Although, the topic was definitely heavier, I found the book to be thought provoking. The story follows two families who are brought together over a night that changes everyoneā€™s lives. The themeā€™s of finding yourself, morals, values, realizing whatā€™s truly important stick out to me. I really enjoyed the book and couldnā€™t put it down once I started it. Iā€™m looking forward to reading more of her books.

Thatā€™s a look at what Iā€™m loving this week. Tell me: what are looking forward to this weekend?

Bringing Blazers into Outfits

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! Today, we are talking fashion, especially fall fashion. One of my favorite things about the fall season is layering clothing, from sweaters, to jewerly, even blazers, thereā€™s so many fun ways to layer clothing and make your outfits cozy, comfortable and professional for fall.

When it comes to work outfits, wearing blazers is one of my favorite pieces of clothing to layer and accessorize. You can pair a blazer with dress pants, a skirt, even a dress. I love how one piece of clothing can tie a whole outfit together or completely change it.Ā

Hereā€™s a few ways that I incorporate blazers in my wardrobe.

With Dress Pants

I love wearing a blazer with dress pants to layer an outfit. Not only does it keep you warm, but it also looks more professional and put together. I got this blue blazer by J. Crew a few weeks ago and I couldnā€™t wait until the fall to wear it. I love how the neutral colors of the tan, blue and white. This is such a timeless and classic look that can be worn in any season. I also love the cut and fit of the jacket.

The classic blazer look

As a Pop of Color

Another fun way to wear a blazer is by using it to bring in a pop of color. Hereā€™s the same dress pants and white top with a red blazer. Notice how even with the same pants and top, the blazer completely change the look of the outfit. Thatā€™s something I love about blazers, it changes the feel of the outfit.

Same basics, different blazer.

With a Skirt

This photo is from a few years ago, but I still wear this outfit to work. This gray blazer works great for a matching gray skirt or even black or gray dress pants. I like how a blazer can elevate the look of just a skirt and a blouse. This outfit works great for meetings or interviews or a day in the office. Even though the shades are a bit off, the blazer still works great.

Elevating a skirt and blouse.

With a Dress

This is more of a different look, but sometimes wearing a blazer with a dress could help double as a coat. It breaks up the the look of just one solid dress. I wore this light purple dress, but since there was a chill in the air, I added this black blazer as a jacket and for some dimension to the dress too.Ā

Adding a blazer adds dimension and warmth to a simple dress.

Those are four easy ways to add a blazer to you wardrobe this fall season.

Tell me how you incorporate a blazer in your closet? Let me know in the comments below.

Getting Ahead of the Game

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week has been going well. Iā€™m in full on Christmas mode over here! From shopping to listening to music and having my dĆ©cor up. This time of year is always fun but also busy.

Thereā€™s so much to get done in such a short amount of time, it can be a lot to keep track of which is why I always like to stay ahead of the game by planning ahead. Whether itā€™s the holiday season or a random week in July, planning ahead ensures my week goes a little smoother.

In a world of chaos, thereā€™s only so much you can control which is why taking a few minutes every week makes my days and nights smoother.Ā

Hereā€™s three ways that I prep to get ahead in the game.

Weekly To Do: Every Sunday I make a weekly to do in my planner. A tip I got from Emily Ley on how to best use both a digital and paper planner, if you use both. She recommends to put all your important dates, information, events etc. in your digital calendar. So whenever you have an appointment or something that needs to go on the calendar, you put it in your digital calendar so itā€™s always accessible. Then every week (or me itā€™s Sundays), I transfer everything from my digital calendar to my paper planner, I also add any to-dos to my planner and extra notes.

A look at my planner (and old page that’s pretty generic)

Meal Prep: Another way I prepare for the week ahead is by lunch planning. Since I eat dinner at home, I only meal plan for my lunches in advance. Sometimes, meal planning is buying some boxed salads, and setting aside pretzels or fruit for my lunches. Other times itā€™s making baked chicken and veggies and portioning them out for each day of the week. No matter what the form is, I always spending time getting my meals organized for the week so I can just grab and go for each day.

An example of one of my meals that I make for work.

Outfit Plan: Another way I save time and plan ahead is by planning my outfits for the week. Again, I spend 10 minutes checking the weather and planning what to wear from clothing to shoes and accessories. I can change an outfit if need be, but for the most part I have them all lined up and just grab it for each day. I started to plan out my outfits in college and it was a huge time saver. It also makes my mornings go much smoother.

Outfit planning

Those are just three ways that I plan ahead which makes my days and weeks run smoother. What things do you do for streamline your daily lives especially in busy seasons?

Summer Outfit RoundUp

Hello all!! I canā€™t believe itā€™s August!!! Where has the summer gone?! I do have to say Iā€™ve been making the most of the summer days and nights. From walks, grilling nights, pool days and lots of ice cream. The summer months have also given me more opportunities to try new outfits and looks. Hereā€™s some of my favorite summer looks so far! This will be part of a new series every few months called Season Outfits Roundup. Every few months I will share different outfits I’m wearing for work or play or anything in between.

Most of these are work outfits/professional dresses for this roundup. But, I think between the style and the colors they can be worn for graduation parties, church, cocktail parties, etc. I have linked some of the dresses that I could find online, others I bought last season.

Outfit Number 1: I got this dress from Amazon. The brand is Musol. The fabric is polyester and spandex. I love the light lavender color. I think it could work great for spring or summer. The fabric is lightweight and it stretches to conform to any body type. I also love that its machine washable and fits true to size.

Full length dress.

I wore silver jewelry as accents and then pair of black pumps from Kelly and Katie.

Close up of the neckline and jewelry and makeup.

Outfit Number 2: For another work dress, this royal blue pops for summer. I got this dress from Ross last fall on the clearance rack and I couldn’t wait to wear it this summer. It’s actually a Calvin Klein and it’s all polyester, which is my favorite material/brand to wear at work. I also have the dress in a different style and color but same material because I loved the feel so much. I love the top/sleeves of the royal blue dress, I think that makes it a bit different and stand out. You DO need to dry clean this dress. It fits true to size. I decided once again to wear my black pumps from Kelly and Katie with silver jewelry again.

The full dress.
Same material but different style and color. I got this from Marshalls.

Outfit Number 3: I love a light blue for summer. I loved the color so much I got it in a longer sleeve dress too. I’ll share that one in the fall. I also got this dress from Amazon. The brand is MUXXN. This dress is perfect for spring and summer weather. The neckline is my favorite too. I like the uneven scope. You DO need to dry clean this dress as well. The material is a mix of Rayon, Cotton, and Spandex, so it’s a more stretchy material if that makes sense. I have this same fabric in an orange dress which I really like.

Full length of the dress
Close up of neckline and jewelry.
Different color and style but same material, purchased through Amazon
Again different style and color but same material. Also purchased through Amazon.

Outfit Number 4: Sometimes, you just want to throw on an easy dress while still looking professional and this does the trick. It’s both cotton and polyester. This is also an Amazon purchase. The brand is VFShow. I love the bold colors on the top of the blue, white and black. I like the soft material and the cuffed sleeves. You can throw this in the washer and dryer which makes clean-up even easier!

Outfit Number 5: I wouldn’t consider this last look as work look. I think this would be better for dinner and drinks out or maybe a picnic. I got this top from Marshall’s last summer and I love the soft pink color. The cross over tie is a fun twist on the top too. It’s also very flowy and light weight which is a win for summer. I got the capris from American Eagle, but I have worn white dress pants to dress the outfit up. To dress it down, you can wear sandals or sneakers, to dress it up I would recommend wearing heels.

That’s a roundup of some outfits I’ve been wearing this summer for work and play. I wear a lot more work clothes compared to play clothes haha! Amazon has been a great place for deal and fun colors and styles of dresses. I often have luck at Marshall’s, T.J.Maxx and Ross‘ too! Where are your favorite places to shop?!

Three Looks for Work in the Summer

Hi friends!!! Happy Wednesday! Iā€™m off of work for the work for a much needed break to reset and recharge. It has been so nice to change up the pace and enjoy a week of summer.

But next week, itā€™s back to reality, which means back to work. Since I have started to work full time, one of the things Iā€™ve had to do is do some shopping for more professional clothes but also continue to update my wardrobe by mixing and matching outfits. I order several new dresses from Amazon, so be prepared for an Amazon Haul post coming soon!

Until then, I wanted to share three outfits for work for the summer, one is super professional, one is summer dress chic and the other is more work for on the go.

Letā€™s get to the most professional/ business casual.

This look is perfect for an interview or working in an office.

I wanted something that was neutral and simple and thatā€™s exactly what I got when it came to picking out this outfit.

I first started with this skirt, I got it from Marshallā€™s. I love how it is a pencil skirt and can be worn with a suit or just by itself.

I decided to add a dark blouse as my top. I got it from Francescaā€™s Boutique, as a summer blouse but I have found many more uses and ways to wear it through the years. Although, it is sleeveless, I added a blazer to match it. Although, different opposite colors, the black and the light gray skirt complement one another very well.

As, I mentioned above, I wore my gray blazer as a finishing touch. I got this blazer from Marshallā€™s as well, a few years back. Although, the blazer and the skirt are not a matching set, the interior of the blazer which is seen when cuffed is almost a perfect match to the skirt and the black top ties the whole outfit together.

These shoes are my new favorite pair for the spring/summer/fall. I loved them so much I got them both in black and nude, they are Kelly and Katie from DSW. They are comfortable and I love the heel, not too high but reasonable.

I matched the outfit with my work bag from Michael Kors, now this outfit may not be for everyoneā€™s work place, but itā€™s perfect for interviews or business meetings.

The next outfit is another one for the work place, professional but with more color.

I got this dress from Landā€™s End, there are so many things I like about this outfit. First, the color, I love how blue stands out. Itā€™s a pop of color but itā€™s not too overwhelming. The next thing I love about it, is the cut and style. It is a straight cut dress, but you can move in it, itā€™s not super restricting, also it has pockets!!!!

Lastly, I really like the material, it is string and durable.

I matched the dress with a pair of blue pumps from DSW as well.

I wear a lot of navy, so these get a lot of wear in the spring and summer months.

Onto the last outfit, this outfit is more on the go but still professional, some days Iā€™m working in an office and other days Iā€™m not, it all depends.

For the days Iā€™m not in an office, this is a great outfit on the go.

I got these pants from the Limited, I love how they are a straight cut pant and the navy makes them easy to with anything. Any print, bold or neutral color can go with it.

I got this pink top from Talbots, I really like the pop of summery color, plus it matches perfectly with the pink sweater from Gap. The blue and pink compliment each other very well. And to no oneā€™s surprise, I got these shoes from DSWā€¦surprise! Haha!

I also wanted to show how well my lunch tote matches my outfit.

Those are three separate outfits for work, from business professional, to sundress chic and on the go.

Stay tuned for more summer work outfits and next week, I have a supersized life update post! Be sure to check back next Wednesday for it!

See you then!

Look of the Day #132

LOTD

Hi All!

Since my last post, I have finished finals, finished work and have been packing and saying my goodbyes at school. Itā€™s been a different week with no set schedule or routine, by I am taking it for what it is and enjoying all my moments at school. I canā€™t believe that I am days away from graduationā€¦ it is quite a surreal feeling. One thing that I have taken away from my time at college is to always dress for success and the appropriate ways to dress for an interview or work.

Today, Iā€™m showing an outfit that is perfect for a job interview. It is professional and appropriate. Before, I get into the details, here are a few tips for dressing for an interview

-Keep your makeup simple and soft, donā€™t overdo it. You are going to get a job, not a date out with friends.

-The same goes for outfit choice, you want to choose an outfit thatā€™s modest and appropriate.

-Always be prepared for any interview, bring your resume and reference with you as well as something to write with and a planner to be prepared.

-Do your research on the company you are interviewing at and don’t forget some questions too.

Now, onto the outfit. This is perfect for an interview or first day of work.

Job interview…check!

I got this outfit from all different stores, but they all fit great together.

Ā First, these pants are from Talbots, I like the cut and style of the pant. They are a straight cut that go right to the ankle, which allows you to wear a small pump or heel. I opted for the same heels I wore for Thanksgiving. A simple black heel with a gold buckle. Kelly and Katie are my go-to for good quality shoes. It looks professional but it also adds length to your overall outfit.Ā

My black top, is a short sleeveless blouse from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I often wear it in the summer, but I opted for the outfit since it matches the pants and the blazer.Ā

This blazer is one that I wear often for formal occasions. I got it from Marshalls a few years back and I have worn it with dresses, jeans, and dress pants to fit any outing that I have.Ā

When I wore this outfit, I felt put together and professional-two big things to keep in mind for job interviews and work.

Well, I am hours away from graduation day. I am planning on enjoying my last few days as a college student before itā€™s time for something new. I will see you back here on Tuesday for a very special post.

Until then, xoxo
