Essential Oils

Hello All!

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you had a relaxing weekend, it’s finally spring and I am so happy to welcome the warmer weather, not only is there warmer weather here, but also the final countdown of the semester is on! This year has been one of the best years yet, and I can’t wait to see what my last semester has in store for me. Today, I wanted to share one of my favorite trends with you. It’s official…I am a believer of Essential Oils. I started using oils about a year ago and now I use them every day.

I always have my diffuser going on my windowsill.

I even brought min verisons with my to Italy, I loved having the consistency of my favorite scents when I was out of the country.

Yes, I have mini versions of my oils for when I travel..no shame

I personally get my oils from Doterra. But, you can get them anywhere, I’ve seen them at Target, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, essential oils are all the rave and the more people I talk to the more I find out about all the different uses for them. I have heard people using them for cooking, cleaning, staying healthy, preventing illness, and relaxing. I can’t wait to use them in new ways this summer when I am not constantly bogged down with work.

My favorite oils-Peppermint, Orange, Lemon, Balance, Breathe, On-guard, and Serenity

Today, I wanted to share my favorite scents and how I use them in my everyday life. For starters, these are my oils I have so far, and I use them every day. I have a diffuser that goes 24/7. I typically diffuse one scent at night and different ones each day. For night time, I typically diffuse Serenity which is a lavender based oil, I have always had issues with sleeping but this year I have been sleeping better and I think a lot of it has to do with diffusing essential oils. I feel more relaxed and content when I have soothing oils diffusing. I also use the serenity for headaches as well as the peppermint which are miracle workers.

During the day I change oils frequently. For example, when the cold or flu is going around, or I am prepping to leave for a trip, Onguard is going non-stop. It is a greater fighter against germs.

Another few scents on heavy rotation especially in the winter when I want a fresh smell

When I am finished cleaning, I typically mix orange and lemon for a fresh smell or lemon and peppermint or orange and peppermint to freshen up a room. When I need a change or smell or need to reset myself Balance is my go-to.

These are on constant rotation especially with Spring coming soon

I love how the essential oils provide a healthy smell to the room, it’s not too overpowering but you can definitely smell the subtle refreshing smell. I also like how it is an alternative scent with no harsh chemicals. By far, one of the best parts is that it’s college dorm room safe! YAY!

Have you guys tried essential oils? What are your favorite mixes and uses for essential oils? Please share them with me, I am always looking for new ones to try. Have a great week ahead, enjoy the beginning of Spring weather!!

Look of the Day #47

LOTD

Happy Thursday!

This week has been packed full and I have a busy weekend ahead.

It may be spring but it hasn’t been acting like it. Yes, it is mid-April and its still snowing. I’m SO ready for Spring and warmer weather. I tried to brighten my wardrobe with hopes it will make spring come faster.

That brings me to today’s look of the day. I brighten up my look with a bright color and bold necklace. I had a few meetings but a long day, so I wanted something that looked professional but also comfortable for a 10-hour day.

I wore my favorite shoe boots from DSW, I am ready to transition out of these shoes but it’s not time for peep toe shoes yet. I wore these in Chicago and they were very comfortable for walking around the city.

I wore my faux leather leggings from Target, they feel like leggings, but don’t look like leggings. Win-Win!

I brightened up my dark outfit with a bright blue flannel button down from Old Navy. It is made from soft material but also holds up well with washing. I have had it for a few years and have paired it with numerous outfits.

I changed my look up with a bright, bold necklace from Old Navy as well. I love necklaces that can change an outfit as well as dress an outfit up. My bright lip color is from House of Color. I try to keep my lips neutral, but I was feeling the bold color to brighten my mood.

If you know me, then you know I am always cold, therefore it was crucial that a long sweater was necessary. I got this sweater from Tilly’s. I wear this so frequent, with jeans, dresses, leggings or skirts. It’s so versatile and its so easy to throw on.

Here’s to hoping warmer weather is around the corner. I need it, you need it. We all need sunshine in our lives.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Look of the Day #6

LOTD

Last week I shared a dressed up and more formal look, Today I am sharing how you can use the same pieces to dress the look down. I wore this over the weekend spending time with my family. It was a perfect casual look to sport.

Starting at the bottom, I got these gladiator sandals last summer from DSW and they have been a crucial part of my wardrobe. They are fun and unique since they are black, they can go with anything, shorts, skirts, even a t-shirt dress.

Shoes from DSW

I got my shorts last summer as well from Marshalls but they are originally from Nine West. They are comfortable and a bit longer so you can wear a longer top with them.

Shorts from Marshalls

This top is the same one I wore last week with my orange skirt. I got the top from Francesca’s.

Front of top from Francesca’s

Back of top from Francesca’s. Gotta love a little lace in the back!

The necklace is also the same from last week to add a pop of color! I purchased that from Francesca’s as well.

Lastly, the hat I got this summer from Marshalls. It was a total splurge purchase, but I am so happy I got it. It is big and protects you from the sun and it’s black which matched perfectly with my outfit.

A fun hat to finish off the outfit!

Well, that’s the rundown of what I am wearing today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Look of the Day #5

Is it Friday yet?! Haha!! It’s been one of those weeks. Today may be one of my favorite outfits of the summer and we are only half way through June!!!

I wore this ensemble on Sunday to Church and I plan on wearing it in the future to work and a few parties I have coming up. I love to dress things up when I can. Sunday was one of those days.

Starting from the bottom, I got these heels from Marshall’s a few years ago, and I love them!!!! I know heels aren’t for everyone but for me, I can’t get enough of them! They are super comfortable, high, and black!! All my favorite things! I wore them once to a dance and didn’t take them off for four hours! Yep, no pain!

This skirt is from Target believe it or not! It’s from the Victoria Beckham collection that launched in the spring! I love the bright orange, the detail and print, and I love the Victoria Beckham style!! I saw it and had to get it! Plus it has a pocket! Nothing better than having a hidden pocket in a skirt or dress!

Here’s a up close view of the skirt to show the details.

My top is from Francesca’s! I’ve had it for a few years and it’s still on excellent condition. I love how Francesca’s clothes are superior quality. This silky black top is simple in the front but lace in the back. A great top to dress up a pair of capris, shorts, or skirts.

Lastly, my necklace is from Francesca’s as well. I love wearing bold colors and this orange and black combo was perfect for a Sunday with family.

Have a very happy weekend!!!
