Friday Favorites #28

Hey guys! Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week full of Galetineā€™s Day celebrations or a Valentineā€™s Day date night. I know I enjoyed spreading a little extra love this week and indulging in some sweet treats too. I did some baking before Valentineā€™s Day and enjoyed sending cards and some baked goods to family and friends.

Some Valentine’s Day treats!

During the winter months, I spend more time indoors, getting projects done, catching up on books, shows or trying new recipes. That being said, if my Friday Favorites seem similar week to week, thatā€™s why.

Hereā€™s what Iā€™ve been reading, watching, and enjoying for this weekā€™s Friday Favorites as I like up with ErikaĀ andĀ Andrea.

YOU-Part one of YOU season four came out last Thursday on Netflix and I finished it in two days, mind you, it was only five episodes, but once I started it was hard to stop. This new season takes Joe to a new country, with a new murder and a whole new cast of characters. Thereā€™s mystery, intrigue, romance and cliffhangers. Iā€™m excited for part two to come out next month!

Your Place or Mine– In a complete opposite genre, Your Place or Mine came out last weekend and it was the perfect way to get into the Valentineā€™s Day spirit with this rom com. I loved the storyline, the characters, and the chemistry between Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. If you havenā€™t seen this movie yet, you are missing out! Super cute!

Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Raspberry Hearts– I indulged in all the sugar and sweets from Valentineā€™s Day. From heart-shaped cupcakes to homemade sugar cookies, it was definitely a sweet holiday. I tried these new chocolates from Ghiradelli and loved them. The blend of fruit and chocolate was the perfect ratio. I always enjoy anything chocolate so when I saw a pairing with raspberry, I knew I had to try it and was so glad I did!

Colleen Hoover Books– Late to the book party here, but I finally got around to reading some of Colleen Hooverā€™s books. I have heard about her for years, and decided to try some of them after a friend lent me them. I recently read November 9 and Verity. November 9 was such a sweet love story with an incredible twist. Verity was definitely darker and there were many times I wanted to put it down, but Iā€™m glad I finished it. The ending definitely raised more questions. Iā€™ll be looking into more Hoover books. If you have read her other books, what ones are your favorite and what should I read next?

New Wall Flower Scent– I swapped out scents for my wall plug in from Bath and Body Works last week and have been loving this new scent. I went from Pine which was very Christmasy to Spearmint and Eucalyptus. This scent is so fresh and perfect for the winter months. Thereā€™s nothing better than a new scent for a new week.Ā

Thatā€™s just a look into life over the past few days. Tell me, how did you celebrate Galentineā€™s Day or Valentineā€™s Day? Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites #27

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you had a great work week and are ready for the weekend. Itā€™s the weekend before Valentineā€™s Day, which means itā€™s time to bring out all the heart shaped treats and goodies, put on a cute outfit and celebrate LOVE this weekend or early next week.Ā

I made these heart shaped peanut butter cookies last week from Mix and Match Mama and they were so good and the perfect way to enjoy February!

Before we head into the weekend, I have a fun round up of Friday Favorites for you as I link up with Ā ErikaĀ andĀ Andrea.

Letā€™s Dive in!

MADOFF: The Monster of Wall Street- I just finished this four part documentary series on Netflix and really found it interesting. I knew who Bernie Madoff was and what he did, but never knew the whole story and all the background. I found this mini-series to be fascinating and informative. I really liked how they re-enacted crucial moments in history in addition to the interviews of those involved. You can finish this in a weekend or over the course of the week after work. Netflix did a really good job with this docu-series.

Covergirl Concealer- Iā€™m trying a new concealer from Covergirl and Iā€™m loving it. For the longest time, I was using their concealer stick for makeup touch ups. But I wanted to try this new liquid concealer and I have been happy with the results so far. It goes on super smooth and blends really well. There are so many different shades, so you can match it easily to your skin tone. Iā€™m always hesitant to try new makeup products but have been happy with this new concealer so far.

Midnight at the Pera Palace-The winter months have me hunkering down and watching shows and movies on my watchlist on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Midnight at the Pera Palace has been on my watch list for months and I finally got around to watching it and wish I had watched it earlier. Thereā€™s only one season so far and thereā€™s eight episodes in season one, so itā€™s not too much of a time commitment. Itā€™s a Turkish show, but you can watch it in English and with subtitles. It follows the story of a young journalist who does a story about an old hotel and realizes thereā€™s more to the hotel than its history. Hint: it involves time travel and making sure the past doesnā€™t affect the future. 10/10 recommendation.

Caramel Apple Bourbon Trail Mix– I love trying new trail mixes and snacks from Target and Giant Eagle. This trail mix is the perfect mix between sweet and salty. Thereā€™s cranberries, almonds, apple bites and pretzels. Iā€™ve been enjoying this with lunch or as an afternoon snack. Just enough flavor for an afternoon pick me up.

Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris– I saw so many previews for this movie and couldnā€™t wait to watch the movie. Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris follows the story of a woman who works as a house cleaner and looks to fulfill her dream of wearing a designer gown. This movie takes her from England to Paris where she gets a newfound sense of confidence and makes some friends along the way. This movie will have you dreaming of a trip to Paris! Such a cute mother/daughter or girlfriend movie!

Thatā€™s just a look at some things Iā€™m loving this week. Tell me! What are your plans for the weekend? Do you plan on celebrating Valentineā€™s Day or Galentineā€™s Day? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites #25

Hello all!

Happy Fri-yay!

I can’t believe we are at the end of January! I don’t know about you, but this month went by in the blink of an eye. Between getting back into my routines, checking some tedious projects off my to-do list and staying cozy by trying new recipes and reading, it’s been a good month. That being said, I can’t wait for February. I love Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, hearts, sweets and all the other things that come with the second month of the year.Ā

Now, let’s get to this week’s Friday Favorites. I have another fun round-up of things that I have loved this week and who knows maybe you will too. Here’s what I’m loving as I link up withĀ ErikaĀ andĀ Andrea.

Reusable Bags– You know you are an adult when you get excited about reusable bags. Haha! I got snack and sandwich reusable bags for Christmas, and they are such a practical gift that I use every day. I pack my lunch for work and typically that entails bringing in cut up veggies, fruit, cookies, crackers, trail mix etc. I was constantly using plastic baggies and realized how much of a waste it was, so I did some research and found a solution, reusable baggies. I got them for Christmas and love them. They seal really well and keep your food fresh. They also wash and dry well too. Plus, they are easy to store in lunch boxes, purses, or in a pantry. Definitely worth the investment and great for the environment.

So useful for food storage.

Laundry Sanitizer-Another adult favorite. We are in the midst of cold and flu season which means germs are spreading fast. I picked up this Laundry Sanitizer by Lysol and have been using it when I do laundry, especially with items that may get shared (blankets or towels) or clothing that someone who is sick may have worn. It’s super simple to use, you just pour some in your washer alongside your detergent. It doesn’t bleach and there’s no harsh smell. It’s not too exciting, but it’s an extra step to keep things safe and clean.Ā

Elizabeth Holmesā€™ Spare Audio Thoughts-I finished Spare by Prince Harry and loved it! As someone who has followed the Royal Family for years, I couldnā€™t wait to read Harryā€™s words and hear his thoughts about growing up. Hearing about his childhood without his mother broke my heart, reading how the army shaped him was profound and reading how he and Meghan fell in love brought me so much joy! I was so happy to finish it but sad it was over. Besides reading the book, I also listened to Elizabeth Holmesā€™ audio thoughts. I loved the insights she offered through the books, some of it were her opinions, others were facts she shared too. It was the perfect reading companion. Iā€™m eager to see what Harry and Meghan do now.

The Recruit– Have you seen The Recruit on Netflix?! It came out at the end of last year, but I just got around to watching it this past week. It’s only one season and eight episodes, but it’s so good. I finished it in five days! It follows the story of a young lawyer who works for the CIA and gets way in over his head with a case involving a former asset for the CIA. He goes from being stuck at a desk to flying across the world for a mission. Every episode is filled with drama, suspense, some romance and a bit of humor. It hasn’t been renewed yet for a second season, but I hope it does since it leaves you with a big cliff hanger. If you saw it, what did you think?!

Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test– I promise I do more than just work and watch tv, but I also got hooked on a new reality/competition show. I’m not big into competition shows, but I look forward to watching this show every week.Ā  Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test on Fox follows over a dozen celebrities as they see if they have what it takes to be a Special Forces Operator. Some of the challenges they have to endure are pretty insane. I know I wouldn’t be able to do them, so I can the recruits a ton of credit for attempting them. Without giving too much way, not everyone can handle the pressure and some go home or quit. It’s fascinating to see some of the different contestants handle the pressure or donā€™t handle the pressure.Ā

Thatā€™s a look into some of my favorite things from this week. Tell me how are you celebrating the last weekend of the month?!

Hi everyone! I canā€™t believe we are at the end of January! This month went by so fast, it was definitely nice to have a slower month compared to a busy December at the end of the year. This past month has been a good mix of fresh starts, staying cozy and getting outdoors too. As the month wraps up, hereā€™s a look at some things I have been up to.

What I’ve Been Up To: Iā€™ve spent this past month decluttering and organizing things. After a full December, both mentally and physically, I was looking forward to some New Year cleaning. I have been participating in the Simplified Simplicity Challenge this month and I have been so proud of doing little things every day to live a simplified life. I’ll be sharing a recap of my simplicity challenge next month.

Cleaning out different areas of your life, like your purse is just one example of the daily challenges.

I also have been trying to get outside for fresh air even in the colder months, whether itā€™s for a walk or run, even a few minutes outside makes all the difference. I also have been trying some new recipes and enjoying some new books too. January has been slow but productive.

January has been filled with lots of snow too!
Another new recipe I tried this month, Shrimp Avocado Medicine Soup by Jessie James Decker.

What I’m Wearing: I have been wearing all the layers especially when I am outdoors. I have so many scarves that I have been making a point to wear them when Iā€™m out and about. Not only do they keep you warm, but they are also a great fashion statement too.

All the layers for chilly weather.

What I’m Reading: Iā€™ve been reading lots of books over the past few weeks as I spend more time indoors.

Hereā€™s what I have been enjoying.

I Didn’t Do that Thing Today- “I Didn’t Do that Thing Today” has more of a psychological feel as opposed to a narrative feel. The author talks about all the research and interviews she has conducted when it comes to productivity. As someone who thrives on being a productive person and getting everything done, I learned a lot about not having to be busy all the time and giving ourselves breathing room and not letting a lack of accomplishment affect our days.

Spare-I have been making my way through  Spare, Prince Harryā€™s book. The book begins after the death of Princess Diana and follows Harry’s life to the present day. So far, I have found Prince Harry to be very real and vulnerable, but also giving historical context and perspective to different things in his life. I’m looking forward to finishing the book soon.

What I’m Watching: I have been watching and enjoying The Mindy Project. Itā€™s so fun and easy to have on in the background as I get things done. I also have been watching some fun movies. I watched Knives Out: Glass Onion, About Fate and Something From Tiffanyā€™s. All can be found on streaming services, they were all a mix of romantic comedies, mystery and dramas. Iā€™ve been adding more things on my list of things to watch.Ā

About Fate was such a cute movie on Amazon Prime.

What Inspires Me: Iā€™ve been inspired by a clean slate for the new year. From decluttering to starting new yearā€™s resolutions and getting back into new routines. I love the new year and a fresh start.

Hello decluttering for a fresh start!
I’ve also been enjoying some baking too.

What I Accomplished: In addition to fresh starts, I have also been getting back into some of my favorite routines and hobbies. I got a few new cookbooks for Christmas and have really enjoyed trying out some new recipes including soups and hearty meals. I also have been so good about keeping up with friend dates, whether they are in-person or via facetime, itā€™s so good to get some quality friend time in.

New cookbooks means new recipes.
Winter weekends means pancakes!

Goals from Last Month: I have started on some of my New Yearā€™s Resolutions which also gets me in the right mindset for the new year. Sometimes, the hardest part of starting a new habit is taking that first step. One of my goals of this year is to live a healthier lifestyle and I have tried to do that by making smarter food choices and moving more, we are only one month in, but we are off to a good start. I also have been checking things off my winter bucket list too!

Goals for this Month: February is all about love and Valentineā€™s Day and showing those in your life that you care! Iā€™m looking forward to a Valentineā€™s Day date, some girlfriend time for Galentineā€™s Day and enjoying some chocolate and all things heart shaped. Plus, Iā€™m excited to continue to enjoy winter by taking winter walks but also cozying up inside.

I also went to a hockey game this month and I’m hoping to go to a few more before the season is over.

Thatā€™s a look into life recently. Some reading, some binge-watching, trying new foods, staying active and getting back into new routines.

Ā

I’ve also been enjoying some puppy cuddles too.

Tell me: How has your New Yearā€™s Resolutions been going?

Friday Favorites #23

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all had a wonderful week. This was a busy, but good week, so I was very happy when the weekend arrived.Ā

As the colder temperatures settle in, I have been spending more time indoors. I still have been trying to get outdoors for fresh air and exercise, but it can get tricky. This weekā€™s Friday Favorites is a mix of indoor and outdoor fun. Hereā€™s a few things Iā€™m loving this week as I link up with Ā ErikaĀ andĀ Andrea.

Winter Walks– I took advantage of the mild weather last week and got in a two mile walk on a day off. Thankfully, the wind wasnā€™t too horrible and I bundled up, but it was so good to get in a nice long walk, have good conversations and get an extra workout in. Iā€™m hoping to make it a habit on days with mild winter weather.Ā

Just Feed Me– I really enjoyed taking up cooking and trying new recipes last year, but have been slipping due to busy schedules. I got Just Feed Me by Jessie James Decker for Christmas and have been loving looking for new recipes to try. I made Jessieā€™s Chicken Noodle Soup last week and it was so good. I made a big batch with plenty of leftovers for lunches. Iā€™m looking forward to trying more recipes this winter and in the spring and summer too.Ā

Warm soup for a cold day.

Knives Out: Glass Onion-After seeing lots of previews for Knives Out Glass Onion, I couldnā€™t wait to watch it. I enjoyed the first movie and really enjoyed the second. I liked the ensemble cast, the surprise cameos and most of all, the mystery of ā€œWho Done Itā€. There was lots of twists and turns and right when you thought you figured it all out, there was another curveball. 10/10 recommend watching it for your next movie night on Netflix.

The People We Hate at the Wedding– Another movie, but a different genre I enjoyed watching was ā€œThe People We Hate at the Weddingā€, you can find this on Amazon Prime and itā€™s the perfect rom-com. This movie follows two siblings and their mother who travel to England for their half-sisterā€™s wedding. Thereā€™s a few bumps to get to the big day, but itā€™s filled with lots of family drama, laughs, love, and the movie wraps with a happy ending.Ā

Apple Devices Charging Station-I got a new charging station for Christmas and itā€™s been one of my new favorite things. First, I love that you can charge your phone, watch and airpods (if you have them) all in one spot. My cords would constantly be getting tangled and itā€™s much more convenient to have everything charging in the area. I also love the white color (it matches my room and is very sleek). Lastly, I appreciate how it doubles as a stand for my phone too. This has been a practical and fun Christmas gift.

Thatā€™s just a look into a few things Iā€™m loving this week. I Hope you have a wonderful, winter weekend. See you on Wednesday!

Friday Favorites #22

Hey everyone!

Happy Friday! We made it through the first full week of 2023! How did your first week go? Was it hard to get back into the daily routines or were you ready for that sense of normalcy?

As much as I LOVE the holidays, I was happy to get back into a new routine. Now, that we have week one almost in the book, let’s get to some Friday Favorites, shall we? Here’s some things I’m loving as I link up with Ā ErikaĀ andĀ AndreaĀ for another edition of Friday Favorites:

New Planner

I kicked off the new year with a new planner by Simplified. I went with the pattern Charlotte Street this year and have been loving it so far. The bright pinks and greens bring me so much joy! I spent some time getting it all set up last week and it feels so good to have a fresh planner to keep track of my life with. I am always on the go, so having my planner with me makes me feel in control of my schedule all the time, plus how can you resist this fun pattern?!

Hello 2023 planner!

New Journal and Devotional

With a new year comes a new journal and devotional. I picked up this journal from Barnes and Noble and have been loving the daily, guided prompts. I do my journaling in the morning and it allows me to reflect on the day before and look forward to what each new day will bring. To go alongside my journal, I picked up Emily Ley’s new devotional “Sure as the Sunrise”. I ordered it a while back, but waited until the new year to begin. For 100 days, there’s different reflections, Bible verses and a prompt for you to think about.Ā  This has been so handy for me to read and then journal my thoughts. I’m excited to see where this year takes me.

My new journal and devotional for this year.

Emily in Paris

Emily in Paris has been out for a few weeks, but I finally got around to watching the new season between Christmas and New Year’s and I loved it. From the fashion to the friendship, the beautiful French scenery, it makes me want to travel to Paris even more. If you have watched it, what did you think of the cliffhanger in the finale? Were you shocked or did you see it coming? I can’t wait for the new season!

Such a fun series!

40 Books Read in 2022

A new year brings new books to read, I am so proud that last year I read 40 books! This is the most books I’ve read in a year. The year started out slow, but quickly picked up. I read lots of different genres from fiction to non-fiction, some mystery, thriller and memoirs. I discovered new authors and re-read some classics and enjoyed getting lost in different worlds. I already have quite a few books on my shelf that I can’t wait to dig into. I am always looking for new suggestions, if you have them, let me know in the comments!

Just one of the many great books I read.

Healthy Meals

After indulging too much over the holidays, I am getting back on track with healthy eating. All this week, I have been enjoying more fruits, veggies, snack plates and salads for lunch and dinner. As much as I love my sweets, it feels so good to be eating better and having more energy. One of my goals for the new year was to eat healthier and I am on the right track this year.

That’s just a look into some things I have been loving this week. A new year means fresh starts and new beginnings and that’s what this week has felt like to me!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Favorites #19

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday! I can’t believe we are ONE week away from Christmas. I’ve been trying to soak up as much Christmas cheer as I can. This past week has been filled with mailing gifts, Christmas dates and holiday movies and I’m loving every second of it.

Here’s a few favorite things of mine this past week as I link up with with Erika and Andrea for another edition of Friday Favorites:

Gift Exchanges: I am so proud of myself for scheduling gift exchanges with friends and family before the month got away from me. Between dinner and lunch dates, I was able to spend one on one time with my friends, exchange gifts and catch up in between holiday commitments and it did wonders. One of the many instances where planning ahead pays off big time.

A little bit of Christmas cheer!

Ice Skating: Ice skating has become a winter favorite for me and over the past few weeks, I’ve been able to go a handful of times and have been loving getting back on the ice. Last week, I went skating with my boyfriend and we had the rink to ourselves with Christmas music playing…yes, I felt like I was in a hallmark movie and LOVED it. I’m looking forward to hitting the rink several more times through the winter months.

Daisy Jones and the Six First Look: If you have been following along this year on my blog then you know I’m on a Taylor Jenkins Reid’s kick. The first photos for Daisy Jones and the Six just came out a few weeks back and I’m so excited for more teasers and photos. The mini series comes out on March 3 and that is one thing getting me through a long winter.

Harry and Meghan Docu-series Part Two: Last week, I talked about part one of Harry and Meghan’s documentary series on Netflix coming out and this week, it’s all about part two. In between all the Christmas movies, I’ve been watching this mini-series and I have really found it enlightening, interesting, and true love story. My favorite part was all the little stories and behind the scenes photos and videos. I’ve really enjoyed seeing a different side of Harry Meghan than what we have seen in the media. This docu-series has me even more excited to read Harry’s book next month.

Nancy Thayer Christmas books: As I continue with my Christmas books, I read two great ones from Nancy Thayer. A Nantucket Christmas and An Island Christmas. Both stories take place in Nantucket over Christmas time and have themes of family drama, cozy Christmas vibes and happy endings. I really appreciated the attention to detail about the island of Nantucket and I ahve to admit after reading both of these books, it makes me want to travel to the island and experience it for myself.

Some of my Christmas reads so far!

That’s just a taste of life over the past week. My world has been work, family time, seeing friends, and all the Christmas cheer and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I hope you have a magical weekend full of Christmas cheer!

Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites #18

Hello all!

Happy Friday!
December is flying by and I hope you are enjoying the holiday season in the midst of all the holiday to-dos! This week has been filled with Christmas spirit, Christmas shopping (both in store and online) and making plans with friends for the holidays.

A sweet treat by the fire.

Todayā€™s Friday Favorites are a mix of things to watch and eat! I have been watching different movies and shows as I order and wrap gifts, so if you are looking for some fun things to watch, hereā€™s some suggestions as I link up with Erika and Andrea for this weekā€™s Friday Favorites.

The Noel Diary-Iā€™ve been watching lots of holiday movies, new and old. I was excited to see The Noel Diary with Justin Hartley from This is Us and Barrett Doss from Station 19. The movie follows the story of a famous author who is forced to confront his past when a family member passes away. He uncovers secrets from his family and goes on a journey of self discovery. He also meets a young woman on his journey and they quickly learn how they are connected. This definitely has Hallmark vibes, but a bit more substance to it.

Spirited– Speaking of Christmas. I watched Spirited with Will Ferrrell and Ryan Reynolds and loved it. The movie is a modern day take on a Christmas Carol. Thereā€™s singing, dancing, drama and a little romance to this new movie. The characters were interesting, the one-liners were funny and the music is so catchy! Definitely a Christmas move to add to your watch list.

Christmas movie and hot cocoa!

Firefly Lane– The new season of Firefly Lane came out last week and Iā€™m hooked. The series follows the friendship between two girls through the decades. It bounces back and forth between the 1970s, 1990s, and early 2000s. Itā€™s based off a three book series and season two is broken up into two parts. Iā€™ve been watching an episode or two at night. Iā€™m looking forward to the second part of season two especially after the cliff hanger in the finale.

Harry and Meghan trailer for Netflix-Last week, Netflix dropped the trailer for the Harry and Meghan docuseries and it came out yesterday. I already started watched and am really enjoying it. Iā€™m looking forward to learning more about the couple and seeing some behind the scenes photos and videos. It’s been interesting to hear their side of the story about everything that’s happened over the past few years.

Chocolate covered Graham crackers-I whipped up this quick snack the other night as I was trying out new recipes. This recipe just requires Graham crackers, melted chocolate and any toppings you like. I made some plain, some with nuts, a few with marshmallows, and others with sprinkles. Everyone really enjoyed this quick snack that took less than 10 minutes to put together. Iā€™ll definitely be keeping it in mind for future snacks.

Thatā€™s just a look into life lately! I hope you get to enjoy this weekend do something festive! Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites #15

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! Can you believe we are less than a week away from Thanksgiving and Black Friday? I can feel the holiday spirit creeping in. I haven’t started watching any holiday movies yet, but I have done some holiday browsing, it’s hard to resist the temptation when so many stores have their displays up and gifts out. As always, I’m linking up with ErikaĀ andĀ Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites. Here’s some things I’m loving this week.

The Crown-Although I started season 5 last week, I didn’t want to list it as a favorite until I finished the season. Wow, this season was so good, It felt different than past seasons since it was getting closer and closer to current times. I loved the fashion, the plot lines and the casting. I think they were spot on with the casting, especially when it comes to the mannerisms. It also felt a bit different watching this season compared to ones in the past since Queen Elizabeth is no longer here. Now the waiting begins for season six, the final season of The Crown. If you are craving more Royal or Crown insight, be sure to follow Elizabeth Holmes on Instagram. I’ve mentioned her on here before but she is great for fashion insight and royal background.

The Younger Wife– Another week, another book. I have been doing all the reading this fall. The Younger Wife by Sally Hepworth is my latest read. I saw other bloggers write about it a few months back and decided to give it a try. It follows the story of a heart surgeon who decides to remarry even though his wife is still alive and has dementia. His grown daughters aren’t on board at first, but come around to the idea, that is, until they uncover some secrets about their parents. From the father and mother, to the young bride to be, and the grown daughters, it turns out, everyone is keeping secrets. I enjoyed this book thoroughly; I only wish it didn’t end. It was definitely worth the read and will have you wanting more once you finish.

Chocolate Covered Ritz Crackers-I mentioned that I haven’t been watching any Christmas movies or shows yet, doesn’t mean I haven’t been getting into the holiday spirit in other ways. I was at Target and saw some festive treats and had to try them. My first purchase was these chocolate covered holiday Ritz crackers. They are the perfect mix of sweet and salty. You don’t need to have many until your craving is satisfied. I know I will definitely be buying them again ahead of the holidays. These would be perfect for an appetizer night.

Ā

Leather sneakers– We have been experiencing very fall like weather with chilly but dry days, that was up until this week when we saw snow. When it hasn’t been snowing, I have been putting on these sneakers to wear out and about, whether it’s to the store, a quick walk or out to dinner. I got this pair by Steve Madden from DSW, but I have seen similar styles at Target, Marshall’s and T.J. Maxx. I love how they can dress up or down an outfit, they are sporty and comfortable. Definitely a good fall shoe and can be worn to transition between seasons.

Banana Recipe Help!- I’ve been doing a lot of baking lately, from cookies to breads and muffins. Baking, reading and walking have been my fall hobbies.Ā Bananas are such an easy thing to eat and bake with, but I’m looking for more recipes to try besides just breads and muffins. If you have a favorite banana muffin, would you mind sharing? I’ve been searching on Pinterest but am always looking for new things to try especially with the holiday and baking season approaching.

That’s just a look into some of the things I’m loving this week. Tell me how are you getting into the holiday spirit? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites #14

Hello all!

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great full week of November. It’s been a busy week, so I was happy to enjoy a few days with limited plans. As always, I have another edition of Friday Favorites and today as I team up with with  Erika and Andrea.

I hope today’s post gives you some inspiration for new things to read, watch, and get organized ahead of the holidays.

Here’s a few things I’m loving.

Ticket to Paradise-With so many movies going straight to streaming, I haven’t been to the movies for a while, so I was very excited to head to the big screen to see Ticket to Paradise. I love watching George Clooney and Julia Roberts interact on screen together, so this was another treat to see them back together. The movie follows a divorced couple who reunite and slowly start getting along once again. This movie was filled with beautiful sights, great one liners and laughs too. This is a great rom com to watch with your girlfriends or take your mom for a mother-daughter date! It gets 5 Stars from me.

The Last Mrs. Parrish– I know this is an older book, but it was new to me. The Last Mrs. Parrish a suspenseful book with a touch of mystery and intrigue. It follows the story of a young woman who wants to befriend a wealthy woman to get close to her husband. The first half of the book is told from one point of view until it switches to another character’s perspective, and you see the story through an entirely different lens. This book will make you angry at some of the characters, but you won’t want to put it down at the same time. I finished it in less than a week and keep talking about with all of my friends. I’ll definitely be reading more of Liv Constantine’s books.

Kindle App-Speaking of reading, I love to read hard or soft cover books as opposed to them on a tablet or app, but I was so hooked on The Last Mrs. Parrish that I downloaded it for free on my Kindle app so I could read on the go. I’ve done this with books in the past and it really encouraged me to read when I had downtime as opposed to just scrolling on social media. You can buy books or read others for free. I personally just like reading free books through Prime reading, but you can get so many other titles when you purchase them. This is definitely a great tactic to use if you are looking to read more but don’t want to bring a book everywhere.

Notes App– I have talked about all my many uses for my Notes app on my phone but I have been using it a lot more recently with the holidays coming up. I’ve been keeping lists of gifts to buy, activities to do and things to remember. I follow Emily Ley’s system by using three emojis followed by what each list is for. This is such an easy way to keep track of things and have everything you need to know or remember with you at all times.

From Scratch– Have you seen this mini series on Netflix?! It’s so good and worth the watch. The mini series follows the story of a young man and woman who meet in Italy and fall in love. The show chronicles their ups and downs as a couple. Everything from making career moves, to handling large family dynamics, dealing with heartbreak, illness and falling in love. It was such a beautiful journey to watch unfold from start to finish. Just be warned there were a few tear jerkers. The best part is that it’s based on a true story!

That’s just a look into some of my favorite things right now. Tell me what are you loving this week and looking forward to this weekend? Happy Friday and happy weekend!
