Look of the Day #134

LOTD

Hey guys! Happy day after Christmas, I swear the days between Christmas and New Year are a blur of family, friends, activity, and love.

I have another outfit for you today, I had mentioned a few weeks back about how to properly prepare for an interview and some doā€™s and donā€™ts. Today, I have another great outfit for you to rock in an interview or meeting. The new year is a time for fresh starts and new beginnings. I always love the sense of accomplishment that comes with wrapping up an old year and starting a new one.

Now, letā€™s get to this outfit.

Heading out for an inteview

I wanted something that was neutral and simple and thatā€™s exactly what I got when it came to picking out this outfit.

I first started with this skirt, I got it from Marshallā€™s. I love how it is a pencil skirt and can be worn with a suit or just by itself. Versatility is key for a young woman starting out in her first professional job.Ā

I decided to add a dark blouse as my top. I got it from Francescaā€™s Boutique, as a summer blouse but I have found many more uses and ways to wear it through the years. Although, it is sleeveless, I added a blazer to match it. Although, different opposite colors, the black and the light gray skirt complement one another very well.Ā

As, I mentioned above, I wore my gray blazer as a finishing touch. I got this blazer from Marshallā€™s as well, a few years back. Although, the blazer and the skirt are not a matching set, the interior of the blazer which is seen when cuffed is almost a perfect match to the skirt and the black top ties the whole outfit together.Ā

Lastly, I added my favorite Kelly and Katie pumps to the outfit and my Michael Kors purse to bring out the black top more. I am loving this outfit and was very pleased with how it turned out for an interview or a business meeting or appointment. What are your professional goals for the new year?

Look of the Day #114

LOTD

Hey guys! I canā€™t believe it is August 1!? Where has the summer gone! This has been a packed full summer for me and I have loved everything I have done so far! I only have a few weeks left of summer before itā€™s back to school. I am going to make the most of the remaining weeks of summer.

I am so excited to share todayā€™s outfit with you. I pieced it together with all things I already had in my wardrobe and I loved the end results. If you read my post on Tuesday, you may have caught that red is my favorite color, but I donā€™t wear a lot of it since it is so bold. I always jump at an opportunity to wear something fun and out of the box.

I started my outfit out with a white pair of capris. I got my favorite pair from American Eagle and love the cut and style, they can be worn dressed up or dressed down. I personally like to cuff mine at the bottom for a different look.Ā  I am also wearing a Michael Kors belt that I got on sale from Marshalls! I love bringing out the black even more.

Who doesn’t love a pop of red!

Instead of wearing a black silk blouse, I opted for a solid black shirt from Old Navy. I love the fabric and it works better for running around.Ā

This read blazer ties the whole outfit together. I typically only wear It around Christmas but have been wearing it more with dresses and pants in the spring and summer for a pop of color.

Lastly, how cute are these shoes?! I love the ruffles and how they can dress up an outfit. I have had these for a few years and love to break them out to change up my wardrobe.Ā

I also accessorized with pearl studs and a pearl ring along with a silver necklace.

What are your thoughts on the outfit?! Love it? Too bold? Let me know in the comments below!

Look of the Day #94

LOTD

Hello All! Happy Thursday! I am back from my trip in Italy! I will be sharing outfits I wore while I was away in the upcoming weeks and I have slowly been getting back into a routine and a back to school rhythm . When I was home a few weeks ago, I had a few things planned so it was the perfect opportunity to try some new outfits and mix a few pieces up too! Be prepared for a lot of fun fashion these next few weeks!

Letā€™s get to this first look of the day!

Full outfit

I first want to focus on my pants. I got these black ripped jeans from Francescaā€™s Boutiquea few years back and I have worn them in many different ways, fromdressy looks, to more casually and edgy looks, and now for more of a glitz and glam look. These jeans have become so versatile and such a staple in my wardrobe to change up an outfit. Iā€™m so glad I keep finding new ways to wear them with my collection of clothes.

Casual yet confident look

Since these jeans were so dark I wanted to add a lighter color, enter this fun top. When I was home after Christmas I was on the look for new pieces on sale. I came across this velvet gold top at Old Navy. I love how it ran a bit large and wasnā€™t skin tight. I also liked how you could make it look professional for work or dress it down for a night on the town. I opted to wear it for a dressier look compared to a professional. I wore my high black boots to top off my footwear and to add one more pop of sparkle, I wore gold jewelry as accents and my Michael Kors belt from Marshalls.

Up close at the details

Iā€™ve had this shirt for a few weeks now and I was so happy I could finally wear it and create a fun outfit out of it.

What other outfits would you wear this outfit with?!

Iā€™m going to hopefully catch up on sleep this weekend. See you next week for more posts about my trip abroad! Have a great weekend!

Look of the Day #90

LOTD

Hello All!

Happy Valentineā€™s day! Whether you are celebrating with a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, the girls, or even if you are single like myself I hope you take some time to enjoy this holiday if you celebrate it. I also hope you can spread some love to those around you and you get some love sent your direction.Ā

Todayā€™s outfit is perfect for Valentineā€™s Day with the perfect pink top. I love this outfit because it is perfect for a job interview, or day at the office. While I was home for Christmas break, I did some job shadowing and I wore this outfit.

I also got my headshots updated last week and I wore this outfit which was perfect for a professional photo to hopefully jumpstart my career. Letā€™s get into the details about where you can find this outfit without breaking the bank.

New headshots for senior year
Close up head shot-so happy with how they turned out
All dressed up for a day at the office

I got these dress pants from Old Navy believe it or not?! I was on the hunt for a pair of straight cut dress pants and after looking all over town, I found them at Old Navy at a great price. Last summer I was on the hunt for black dress pants. I was searching in stores and online but everything that kept coming up were tight and looked more like leggings. I really was looking for a more professional look and a straight leg. After numerous searches, I finally found these dress pants at Old Navy believe it or not. Not only do they fit to size and look professional, but they are also so comfortable. I have worn them a few other occasions and they are a must have for your collection.

I also wanted a nice sweater to go with my dress pants and I knew a light cardigan would go perfect with the top. I got this black one from Old Navy on sale. I have worn it with jeans and dress pants as well as dresses. Itā€™s a wonderful, versatile sweater that is perfect for a grown womenā€™s professional collection. It not only keeps you warm, but it also looks put together.Ā

My statement piece for this outfit is this fun pink top from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I know I have shared this top on here before, but I love the color and how you can truly dress it up with dress pants or a skirt and you can also pair it with jeans or leggings for a more casual look.

Lastly, my shoes are my favorite shoe boots that I wear all the time since they are comfortable and reliable.

I also have to share about my Michael Kors purse. I got it for my 16thbirthday. I use it for any job interview or shadowing as well as big meetings. It looks professional and it has a lot of storage to hold everything you need for a day at work.

A perfect look for job interviews and shadowing

I hope this inspires you to look outside of the box when it comes to shopping for professional clothing. Have a sweet and love filled Valentineā€™s Day. Sending you lots of love today and every day!

XOXO

Look of the Day #86

LOTD

Hi All!

Happy Thursday! For those of you who went back to school this week, congratulations, you made it through your first week back from break. These next few weeks of school are going to be busy for me. I have a lot of work commitments planned for the next few weekends then itā€™s lots of fun things. Work then play is what I always say.

When I was home over break, I had a few outings planned so I put together several fun outfits to share with you all these next few weeks. Letā€™s begin!

A few days before Christmas, my family and I headed out to a family Christmas party. I wore a similar version of this outfit last year for a night out in the city, you can see it here. I made a few changes with my hair, makeup, and shoes, so I thought I would update this look.Ā

Perfect for a holiday party or a girls night out

Letā€™s start with this top. I am obsessed with this deep red, lace top. I got it from Francescaā€™s Boutique. It has open shoulder sleeves which are very much in style this season. This top is very versatile. It can be worn with a pair of blue jeans, a black skirt or how I am wearing them tonight, with a pair of black jeans. It was a bit chilly out, so I wore a short black jacket to top the outfit off.

I am wearing my favorite skinny jeans. These black and ripped at the knee jeans are from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I have worn them previously in the fall with a short sleeve top, but since I was going out, I decided to dress these jeans up. I got this Michael Kors belt from Marshalls on sale. You never know what you will find at Marshalls. They always have great deals.

I decided to hair my high black boots with this look. Since it was chilly when I wore this, I wanted to be warm and I wanted to give it a different feel.

As far as hair and makeup go, I opted to straighten my hair, I recently got my hair cut and layered more and I am loving the shorter do. I always have had long hair but through college I have gotten it cut shorter and layered and I really like the length that it is at right now. I have also found I have more volume with it being shorter and itā€™s easier to manage and style as well. Itā€™s safe to say the short hair is here to stay.Ā

Mom and decided to match with the Burgundy and black look.

I finished off my outfit with gold jewelry and darker makeup due to the darker outfit. I always like to change up my look when I rewear outfits. What is your favorite way to change an outfit when you wear it for different times?

Have a great weekend and I will see you next Tuesday as we talk about out fitness goals (originally it was going to be this week but I decided to change up my schedule a bit). See you then!

Look of the Day #40

LOTD

Hello and Happy Thursday!

February has been flying by! It’s crazy that next week is March! Where has the month gone?!

Last week, I shared a professional outfit, today I have an outfit that would be perfect for date night or a night out with the girls. I wore this ensemble last weekend out to dinner and I got lots of compliments. I mixed a few pieces to pull this outfit together. Both my top and bottom are from Francescaā€™s Boutique.

Look of the day (and night)

Letā€™s start from the bottom. I am wearing my favorite shoe boots for a night on the town. They are comfortable, sleek, not too high, and they keep my feet warm with the snow. Ā Once again, I got these shoes from DSW.

I am obsessed with this deep red, lace top. I also got it from Francescaā€™s Boutique. It has open shoulder sleeves which are very much in style this season. This top is very versatile. It cane be worn with a pair of blue jeans, a black skirt or how I am wearing them tonight, with a pair of black jeans. I have many more outfits planned in the future with this top in mind. It was a bit chilly out, so I wore a short black jacket to top the outfit off.

Curly hair for the win

Since I was going out at night, I wore darker makeup. I also had worn simple accessories to make sure it didnā€™t take away from my statement piece, my top. I always feel better about myself and life when I am feel comfortable and confident in my clothes. Your clothes can truly change your mood. Thatā€™s a peak into my closet. Have a great weekend. See you on Tuesday!
