Look of the Day #49

Happy Thursday! Itā€™s crazy to think we are in the last week of April. Like every Thursday, I am sharing whatā€™s in my closet and what Iā€™m wearing. The weather is slowing warming up, but I am more than ready for Spring and Summer. Right now, the weather by me is in the 50ā€™s so itā€™s still a bit brisk. With weather like this, I like to still dress in lighter layers in case it gets warmer or cooler.

My favorite part of my outfit is this shirt. I got it from Simply Southern. If you havenā€™t heard about their company, go check them out. They have the cutest clothing for summer. Not only is the quote on the sleeve cute, but the back is my favorite. Even though it was still cool out, I brought spring vibes out with this shirt.

I decided to layer this top with this light blue vest from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I have worn it in the fall with flannels, but I love how it can go with any outfit. It also kept me warm against the cool breeze.

I am wearing my favorite jeggings from Target. They not only kept me comfortable but warm. As much as I love to wear leggings, I am looking forward to putting them away for Spring and Summer. Ā I am in desperate need of sun and some rays.

Finally, to top off my outfit, I wore my favorite simple converse. I love my converse, I wear them all the time in the spring weather itā€™s with shorts, leggings, or even a t-shirt dress. They are a staple in my wardrobe come spring.

Hello! Hello!

Such a beautiful spring day. This is my view on my way to campus every day

Last week finally felt like spring. The sun was shining, the windows were open, people were studying outside; it made me so ready for spring!! I took advantage of this burst of warm weather by dressing very springy. My friends and I made a quick stop to Dunkin Donuts before class hence the frozen drink and backpack, this is a college student in her natural habitat.

Finally acting like spring!

Starting with my top, I go this last year from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I have worn it previously with this outfit. This was the perfect occasion to wear this sleeveless top. I also like the material and fit and how it can be worn with many outfits.

My jeggings are from Target. When it comes to spring and the weather changes from morning to evening, I try to wear a short sleeve top and long pants or vice versa.

These are my favorite spring boots. I love the peep toe and the thick heel. They are perfect for transitional seasons. I got these from T. J. Maxx, I canā€™t wait to wear them more often this season. Also, I am a heel fan, and these are super comfortable as well. I typically find wedges or thick heels much more comfortable than thin heels.

My sunglasses are from American Eagle. I love their fun and unique style. They were on sale so that makes me love them even more!!

This outfit definitely got me in the mood for summer. I am ready to break out the pastels, shorts, and bathing suits.

Look of the Day #47

Happy Thursday!

This week has been packed full and I have a busy weekend ahead.

It may be spring but it hasnā€™t been acting like it. Yes, it is mid-April and its still snowing. Iā€™m SO ready for Spring and warmer weather. I tried to brighten my wardrobe with hopes it will make spring come faster.

That brings me to todayā€™s look of the day. I brighten up my look with a bright color and bold necklace. I had a few meetings but a long day, so I wanted something that looked professional but also comfortable for a 10-hour day.

I wore my favorite shoe boots from DSW, I am ready to transition out of these shoes but itā€™s not time for peep toe shoes yet. I wore these in Chicago and they were very comfortable for walking around the city.

I wore my faux leather leggings from Target, they feel like leggings, but donā€™t look like leggings. Win-Win!

I brightened up my dark outfit with a bright blue flannel button down from Old Navy. It is made from soft material but also holds up well with washing. I have had it for a few years and have paired it with numerous outfits.

I changed my look up with a bright, bold necklace from Old Navy as well. I love necklaces that can change an outfit as well as dress an outfit up. My bright lip color is from House of Color. I try to keep my lips neutral, but I was feeling the bold color to brighten my mood.

If you know me, then you know I am always cold, therefore it was crucial that a long sweater was necessary. I got this sweater from Tillyā€™s. I wear this so frequent, with jeans, dresses, leggings or skirts. Itā€™s so versatile and its so easy to throw on.

Hereā€™s to hoping warmer weather is around the corner. I need it, you need it. We all need sunshine in our lives.

Look of the Day #46

Hello All!

Happy April!

I hope your Aprilā€™s are all off to a good start. I am back to school for the last leg of the semester. This semester and year has flown by!Ā  My April is jammed packed, if I survive this month, I think I can tackle anything. Haha.

Today, I am sharing the outfit I wore on Easter. I spent my Easter Sunday by attending mass and spending time with family. I couldnā€™t have asked for a better day. Ā I think Spring is finally upon on, I wanted to get in the spirit with this bold print floral dress. I donā€™t often wear these colors, but I saw the dress a few years ago and couldnā€™t resist.

I actually purchased this dress two years ago from Nordstromā€™s . Unfortunately, it is no longer in stock. Ā I wore it for my high school Baccalaureate Mass. It was held at the end of the year and I love the bright colors. I love to buy things that are very good quality so i can wear them on numerous occasions especially as I will be heading into the real world soon. I love the dark blues and greens, but I love the pop of yellow even more. I decided to bring out the yellow with these light-yellow heels from Kelly and Katie, I got them at DSW a few years ago as well. I added some simple but classic to go along with the dress and shoes.

I donā€™t often wear bold dresses like this, but I decided to change up my look for Easter. I often choose to wear simple colors and add bold jewelry or accessories as my statement pieces. Today, however, my dress was my statement piece.

I canā€™t wait for Spring to get fully underway for all things spring fashion. What trends are you looking forward to this spring/summer season?

Look of the Day #45

Happy (Holy) Thursday!

I am home for a long weekend for Easter Break. Not only is it a time to celebrate Jesusā€™ Resurrection, but It’s great to be home for one last long weekend to refuel for the end of the semester.

Last weekend, I had a semi-formal dance at school, it was an exciting time to dress up and have a good night with friends. I am sharing what I wore along with the accessories. Unfortunately, I got this dress a few years ago, so itā€™s not sold anymore but hopefully, this inspires you to try a new bold look the next time you are shopping.

Throughout high school, I attended all my homecomings, proms, and semi-formals. I loved getting dressed up for a night with friends to make memories. However, it can add up with everything you need, and most of the time you only wear the dress once and it goes up in your closet. Lucky for me, for every formal or semi-formal occasion I have had in college, I was able to rewear something I wore in high school. This saved me money from buying new dresses, and it allowed me to wear the dresses I wore in high school again. Thankfully, dresses I wore in high school still fit and are in style.

Now, letā€™s get down to the details of this dress. I got this dress from Francescaā€™s Boutique a few years ago on sale! I was drawn to it’s bright color and how fun it looked. The ruffles made the dress so unique. At the time in high school and last semester, I was rewatching Gossip Girl (definitely a good show to binge watch!) and I couldnā€™t help but notice the similarities between my dress and the iconic dress Blair Waldorf wore in Paris in season 4.

I paired this bright red dress with a pair of red heels I got from DSW this past year. I wore them with a black dress for Christmas, and the red from my dress matched the red shoes so I had to pair them together. I dressed up this look with some fake diamond studs to add some bling to the outfit along with a red sparkle nail polish, it is called Pretty Pout from Chrome Girl Nails.

I used the KoKo Kollection face palette from Kylie Cosmetics along with the Burgundy Eye Shadow palette for my makeup.

When I first saw this dress a few years ago, I wasnā€™t sure I would like the dress since it was very bright and bold, but now it is one of my favorite dresses. Donā€™t be afraid to wear something that is bold. You may end up loving it.

Look of the Day #44

Hello and happy Thursday!

Todayā€™s look of the day is giving me major Olivia Pope vibes. Any Scandal fans out there?! So crazy to think we are in the last season with only a few episodes left.

What a boss!!!

Okay, enough about tv, itā€™s back to fashion. Ā I had a busy day last week with a few meetings thrown into the schedule, so I needed an outfit that was professional, comfortable, and warm. After spending a good 10 minutes going through my clothes, I put something together that fit the criteria.

Perfect outfit for any professional.

I am wearing my favorite faux leather leggings from Target, which you wouldnā€™t even guess they were leggings by the look of them. I have had them for a few years and I havenā€™t had any trouble with them so far.

I paired them with my favorite and most comfortable suede wedges. I have been wearing these nonstop this season. I love how they are so versatile and can go with so many of my outfits. I got them on sale from Shoe Carnival last year and have been very happy with their quality.

I wore a long sleeve black top from GAP for my top although, with my scarf and blazer you couldnā€™t see it. I love GAP and Old Navyā€™s clothing especially their solid tees. I stock up on them when they are on sale. You can never have too many black or white long and short sleeve shirts.

Speaking of Old Navy, I got this scarf from there a few years ago, I have worn it with dresses, skirts, and even jeans. I love the neutral colors and pattern.

My blazer is my favorite part of my outfit. I got it on sale from Marshalls, a few years ago. Marshalls and T. J Maxx are go-to stores for me. I love the variety of clothes they have, and you canā€™t beat their markdowns, they are always having sales. I finished off my outfit with simple gold jewelry.

I do love pops of color, but sometimes, you just have to go with the simple, and neutral colors. I hope this showed you, that you donā€™t have to break the bank to look nice and professional AND, donā€™t be afraid to mix and match clothes.

Look of the Day #43

Happy Thursday! Another week is almost in the books. Itā€™s crazy to think we are almost through March.

Todayā€™s look of the day is a bit more formal. While I was home for Spring break, I went out for the night. I wanted something that was dressy but still warm since we were hit once again with snow. This outfit not only works for a night out but for Sunday mass, or even a day in the office.

I got this blue top with gold and silver designs from Francescaā€™ s Boutique a few years ago. I usually wear it with dress pants or a skirt, I have worn it with jeans, but I like to wear it more formally and dressed up.

I got these blue dress pants from The Limited. I got them a few years ago and they have worked out great for dress pants. Their navy-blue color makes them easy to pair with other tops. They are also superior quality, so I know I cam depend on having them for a while.

I wore a pair of nude patent leather heels to top off the outfit. I got them fromĀ  DSW a few years back. I strongly recommend that every woman own a pair of nude shoes, whether they be flats, heels or wedges. They are a must have in any wardrobe. They can go with any outfit and are very versatile. I have worn these heels with homecoming dresses, skirts, dress pants, and in every season. Plus, they are super comfortable. Win-Win!!

I made the decision to change up my hairstyle for Spring. Iā€™ve been having fun trying new styles and dos with shorter hair. If you have any suggestions for short hair, please let me know!

Look of the Day #42

Happy March!

Spring Vibes here on out!

Although, it may not be acting like Spring yet, Iā€™m going to start transitioning my clothes from winter to spring. This is always the hardest part of the year, its cold in the mornings but warm in the afternoon. Its always so hard to plan ahead. Ā This outfit I have planned for today is perfect for chillier temperatures by giving off Spring vibes.

I love to layer my clothes and this outfit is no exception. Changing it up, I am going to start from the top and work my way down. I am a fan of GAP and their shirts. I am a sucker for long sleeves and stripes, so when I saw this on sale, I had to get it. This preppy pink is my favorite shade of pink and I love how it contrast against the gray.

I wore this thin blue vest from Francescaā€™s Boutique, this has been a staple in my wardrobe this year. I have mixed and matched it with so many outfits. The vest is versatile, so you can dress it up or down. For example, I dressed it down with jeggings today. The blue vest matches my blue jeggings excellent. I got these jeggings from Target. I try to stick with jeans but sometimes you have those long days where jeggings are necessary.

I wore my favorite shoe boots to top off the outfit. I wore simple gold jewelry to dress up my outfit. I typically wear a pair of gold studs and my birthstone necklace unless I have something else picked out. My go-to hair style is a simple high pony tail. Itā€™s up and out of my face which is how I work best.

Happy March!!!

February has flown by and I really hope Spring is around the corner. I am hoping this is the last winter outfit I get to share with you all. This outfit would be perfect for any Spring Break traveling or for running errands on the weekend.

Staying cozy and comfortable.

I have shared this statement piece poncho before with a more dressed up look, but todayā€™s outfit is all about being casual and comfortable. I got this poncho from the Scandal Style the Limited Collection. It is from the show Scandal, one of my favorite shows. Olivia Pope wore a look alike sweater like this in the series. It is both comfortable and chic, two things you want in the things you wear. The sweater is a big statement piece that changes my whole outfit.

I am wearing a simple pair of black leggings and a long sleeve black shirt under the poncho. They are both from GAP. I like to wear simple and neutral colors when I am wearing a bold, statement piece like this sweater.

These boots have been a lifesaver for me this year. They are from Sperry. They keep my feet warm and dry from rain, snow, and everything else in between. They are one of my smartest purchases. I got mine from DSW.

Look of the Day #40

Hello and Happy Thursday!

February has been flying by! It’s crazy that next week is March! Where has the month gone?!

Last week, I shared a professional outfit, today I have an outfit that would be perfect for date night or a night out with the girls. I wore this ensemble last weekend out to dinner and I got lots of compliments. I mixed a few pieces to pull this outfit together. Both my top and bottom are from Francescaā€™s Boutique.

Look of the day (and night)

Letā€™s start from the bottom. I am wearing my favorite shoe boots for a night on the town. They are comfortable, sleek, not too high, and they keep my feet warm with the snow. Ā Once again, I got these shoes from DSW.

I am wearing my favorite skinny jeans. These black and ripped at the knee jeans are from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I have worn them previously in the fall with a short sleeve top, but since I was going out, I decided to dress these jeans up. I got this Michael Kors belt from Marshalls on sale. You never know what you will find at Marshalls. They always have great deals.

I am obsessed with this deep red, lace top. I also got it from Francescaā€™s Boutique. It has open shoulder sleeves which are very much in style this season. This top is very versatile. It cane be worn with a pair of blue jeans, a black skirt or how I am wearing them tonight, with a pair of black jeans. I have many more outfits planned in the future with this top in mind. It was a bit chilly out, so I wore a short black jacket to top the outfit off.

Since I was going out at night, I wore darker makeup. I also had worn simple accessories to make sure it didnā€™t take away from my statement piece, my top. I always feel better about myself and life when I am feel comfortable and confident in my clothes. Your clothes can truly change your mood. Thatā€™s a peak into my closet. Have a great weekend.
