TWO Years of Blogging

Two yearsā€¦itā€™s amazing how much has changed since I started this blog after my freshmen year of college. Just to show how much I have changed, hereā€™s my first everĀ post. I started this blog as a way to talk about transitioning and adjusting to college life along with fitness, organization and fashion and it has become so much more than that. I’ve become a better writer, more open, a stronger person and stepped out of my comfort zone with this blog.

Ā Iā€™ve shared about the places Iā€™ve travelled to, likeĀ Washington D.C., Chicago, andRome.Ā

Iā€™ve talked about ways to decorate your dorm room, organize your makeup, and prepare for college exams

I have shared over 100 different outfits, they have ranged fromĀ semi-formal looks, outfits for the office, clothes for thewinter,Ā spring,Ā summer, andĀ fall.

I have talked a lot about college living, summer internships, and the adjustments to living in college.

Getting in front of the camera too at my internship

Some of my favorite posts have been my semester recaps, summer recaps, and fun facts about me

That is just a look into my favorite posts that Iā€™ve covered these past two years. I opened up about being homesick, getting used to college life, and home life, and back to college life. I have shared my friends, family, dogs, and favorite things with you- from tv shows, books, and ways to have fun.

This blog has been a great stress reliever, whenever I would be stressed or I wanted to share something new I learned, my blog was my go-to.

Ā I truly wouldnā€™t be here without you all! Thank you for your love, support and for reading my posts every day whether it is about fashion, fitness, or day to day life. I have had so many people and friends tell me they have read my blog, follow it, or make a suggestion for it. It means so much to me that you take the time out of your lives to read about my life. This next year of blogging will be different as I will be graduating college and entering a new phase in my life. There will also be some surprises in this next year, there will be new content, different types of posts, and so many fun things in the future so stay tuned!! But not to fear, the blog is not going anywhere. Iā€™m going to taking it day by day as I start a new adventure and I hope you will come with me on this journey.Ā

Thank you for reading, the love, and support

Hereā€™s to TWO years of ups and downs and taking it one day at a time.

Look of the Day #103

LOTD

Hey guys! Happy Thursday!

Well, Itā€™s been a almost a week since I have been home for summer and it is already flying by. I am very excited about todayā€™s look of the day! I am going to try something different for today. I always talk about the importance of re-wearing an outfit in a different style or fashion to show you donā€™t have to be constantly buying new clothes. Last fall, I shared this outfit, a t-shirt dress with a fall spin on it with a scarf, boot socks, and short brown boots. Today, Iā€™m going to show the same outfit, but this time with a spring/summer spin on it.

Remember this outfit from last spring?!

I got this mustard yellow t-shirt dress from Gap last fall. I loved not only the color but how lightweight it is. This makes it so much easier when it comes to layering. This dress is the summer and fall, last fall I added more darker colors to it, this time Iā€™m wearing it, Iā€™m adding lighter colors to it. Another great transitional piece of clothing.

Same dress, different look

I also got this scarf from Gap. I love the small flowers and I also love how it matches the dress perfectly. This scarf can be worn in many different styles, in addition to the scarf, I added a light denim jacket to my look. Just in case it got chilly or I wanted to layer my outfit. The jean jacket I am accessorizing this outfit with is from Old Navy.

Up close of the dress and accessories

I opted for a pair of brown peep toe boots for the outfit. I grabbed these cute shoes from T.J. Maxx a few years back and they are such a good shoe for transitional weather. The weather is finally warm enough to wear spring/summer clothing I am here for it. I got a tease of this warm weather at school but now, I am ready to wear it all the time.

Who doesn’t love a mirror selfie?!

Thoughts on the outfit? Would you be more interested in seeing content/outfits like this? Let me know in the comments below! Have a beautiful weekend!

Look of the Day #102

LOTD

Hello all! Happy Thursday, I am wrapping up finals week. This week has flown by, I have been able to catch up with friends, make memories and wrap up the semester. I will be moving back home this weekend where I will be for the summer. On Tuesday, I will be sharing my semester recap-one of my favorite posts, but until then I have a look of the day that is all about spring, pastel colors. I love to add color to my outfits any chance I get, and this outfit was the perfect opportunity to channel all the spring vibes.

All Set for Spring

When I wore this outfit, I was running errands and wanted something comfortable but also chic. I got this mint green top from Francescaā€™s Boutique a few years back. I love how it is so versatile. I typically wear it dressed up with dress pants or a skirt, but it can be worn with jeans or leggings as well. This color is perfect for the spring and summer months, I also love that you can layer it if necessary. A long or short sweater would go perfectly with this combo.Ā

I opted for a pair of skinny black leggings with the bold, bright top. Gap is always my go-to for long-lasting durable leggings.Ā

My shoes are my favorite part of my outfit. I got these shoes on sale at DSW and immediately fell in love with them last year. I love how they are slides, but the pattern is so fun, bright, and colorful. These slide shoes are becoming so popular, I have seen them in so many stores. I have worn these shoes with dresses, skirts, dress pants, even rompers, but I loved how they looked with leggings and how the green in my top brought out my shoes. I will be getting a lot of use out of these this summer.Ā

How cute are these fun flats, they can go with so many outfits!

Lastly, I had to share my new favorite phone case/wristlet. I got it last year from MarleyLilly and not only do I love the monogram but I love that I can easily fit my phone and ID/credit card and be on the go, I donā€™t have to worry about taking a huge purse or not having pockets, this is the perfect size for the necessities.Ā

Who doesn’t get all the spring feels from this outfit?!

I am off to wrap up the last few days before its summer time. Have an enjoyable weekend! To all the moms out there-have a beautiful and restful Motherā€™s Day, thank you for all that you do, especially to my incredible mom! I’m so glad I will be home to celebrate Mother’s Day with her!

What can I say? I got it from my mom!

Look of the Day #101

LOTD

Hi All!

Happy Thursday!

Itā€™s officially the last week of classes. Iā€™m wrapping up my LAST spring semester and getting ready for summer. The end of the school year for graduating seniors means lots of ceremonies, celebrations and fun activities. Since, I am graduating in December, I am able to participate in a lot for the fun festivities. From Honorā€™s induction Ceremonies, to Senior Department Dinners, these past few weeks have busy but so fun! With all these events means lots of outfits. Today, Iā€™m sharing a business casual look that could work for one of these events as well as a job interview or day at the office.

A preppy and spring business casual outfit

I wore this look for an Induction ceremony, I didnā€™t get a whole lot of pictures of my look since I was busy, but letā€™s break down the look.

I love these navy blue dress pants from The Limited. They are perfect for the spring and summer since they go to the ankle. Also, with a solid pant, you can wear fun and bolder tops.Ā

I decided to wear the bright pink top. I got it from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I love how versatile this top is, I have worn it with jeans, leggings, a skirt, or dress pants. I really liked how it brought out the spring colors with the navy blue pants.Ā  I love to wear it with business casual outfits.

A more up close picture of the outfit

It was a bit breezy outside when I wore this wore this outfit and I wanted something to cover my shoulders. I was debating on wearing a blazer with it, but opted for a long white sweater to bring more color to the outfit. This is my favorite long sweater, I got it from the Scandal collection from The Limited. I loved how all these pieces worked well together.Ā

I finished the outfit off with a pair of nude heels from DSW a few years ago. These shoes are comfortable, versatile, and long lasting. I have worn them for years. There is nothing better than having a good pair of heels.Ā

A quick picture with my parents who came out to support me!

I hope this gives you some inspiration for your next business casual outfit. Donā€™t be afroad to step out of your comfort zone when putting outfits together.

I’m off to soak up one last weekend with my friends before we all go out separate ways for the summer. Have a great weekend! See you next Tuesday!

HAPPY 100 LOOK OF THE DAY!

I canā€™t believe I have created 100 looks, when I started this blog almost 2 years ago, I had no idea I would still be able to create outfits, I do have to say I have worn multiple pieces time and time again on my blog, but I have mixed them up and made them fresh and new. One of my favorite things about fashion is the ability to re-wear outfits in different ways and using what you have in your closet to put together a look. You can constantly have new outfits without breaking the bank.

Todayā€™s look of the day is perfect for the spring weather we are experiencing. Last weekend, I was home to celebrate Easter with my family. I had found this dress a few months back and I couldnā€™t wait to wear it for Spring. Letā€™s get to this new number.

Floral for Easter

I was browsing a few months ago for some new pieces to add to my collection and one trend I kept seeing was floral patterns in different pieces. I found this perfect spring dress at Old Navy. I love that it is can be worn more dressed up for Church, going to work with a pair of heels and a sweater or more casual with a pair of sandals, and jean jacket. I got this floral pattern in a dress and scarf, but they also had it in blouses, tank tops, and dress pants. How fun?! Although, I could have gotten it in every article of clothing I opted for just the dress and scarf. Hereare similar dresses from Old Navy with the pattern in different cuts and styles.

I decided to dress this outfit up with a pair of heels. I absolutely love these pale-yellow heels. I got them from DSW from Kelly and Katie.Although, I donā€™t wear a lot of yellow, when I do have a lighter dress, or floral dress these shoes are the perfect pop of color. They tie the dress and other accessories together in a beautiful and simple way.

Up close of the details

I know this dress is going to be worn in heavy rotation this summer. The possibilities are endless with a bold dress like this to dress up or down. What article would you wear this pattern in? Dress? Blouse? Scarf? Dress Pants? Let me know in the comments below! Have a fantastic weekend. Enjoy the spring weather and spend some time outside!

Look of the Day #99

LOTD

Hello All!

Happy Thursday!

I am home for the next few days for Easter Break, it will be my last time home for the semester. I canā€™t believe the next time I will be home it will be after my junior year is over. Itā€™s so crazy to wrap my head around the fact that my time in college is coming to an end. I have plenty of reflections of my junior year coming up but for now, I am enjoying some time at home before I am back to school to finish the semester off strong.Ā

Todayā€™s look of the day, is a very exciting oneā€¦we have finally reached the time in the year where I donā€™t need to wear a jacket 24/7!!! I kid you not, I was able to run errands in just a sweater and short sleeve shirt. It has been a VERY long winter and I am more than ready for spring. Letā€™s break down this outfit that is very neutral and very blue.

A neutral look going into spring

As always, Old Navy is my go-to for jeans. I am currently on the look for a pair of capris or skinny jeans, Iā€™m planning on browsing Old Navy when I am home just to see what they have. I also, wore a crisp white short sleeve shirt from GAP to pair with the jeans, I love the look of jeans and a white shirt, Iā€™m also on the look for another white blouse to dress up a pair of jeans, but for now, a white short sleeve shirt is perfect for running errands like I am today.

I love a light sweater especially when itā€™s a bit windy outside. I got this blue sweater from Target a few years back, I donā€™t wear it often but when I do, I like to just carry it with me especially in the summer when I am out to dinner and the weather gets cooler. I also like how the blue and white colors complement each other.Ā

I wanted to add a fun accessory to my outfit which is where my bag came in. If you remember, I got this purse from Chicago last spring. In the wise words of Carrie Bradshawā€¦this couldnā€™t be more true, purses and shoes are my weakness haha!

This bag was not only a cute accessory but held everything I needed when I was out and about. I also topped off my outfit with a brown wedge.Ā

99 looks later

This is just a quick look into what I am wearing as we are heading into spring. I can’t believe we are at 99 looks, I will have a VERY spring outfit picked out for you next week for the 100th look of the day so stay tuned! Have a wonderful weekend and a Blessed Easter if you celebrate!

See you on Tuesday!

Look of the Day #98

LOTD

Hi guys!

Happy Thursday!

I hope you all have had a fulfilling and productive week! Todayā€™s look of the day is going to be a bit different since I am going to be talking about a fashion trend and making it your own.Ā

One trend that never seems to go out of style is concert t-shirts. They are a great piece of memorabilia from going to your favorite concert and you can wear them time and time again, the one problem I have with concert t-shirts is knowing where and when to wear them. Just with jeans? With sweats around the house or to the gym? It can be a hard piece of clothing to wear with outfits. After collecting t-shirts from a lot of concerts, I think I found the solution. Make a statement outfit with you t-shirt.

Favorite mantra-favorite concert

Iā€™m going to show you an outfit I styled a few weeks ago, that still looks put together even with a t-shirt. Letā€™s get to it!

We will start with the central part of the outfit-the concert t-shirt. Last summer, I went to see The Piano Guys in concert in New York, for those of you who arenā€™t familiar with The Piano Guys, you should totally check them out they started on YouTube, perform covers of hit songs as well as write their own songs. They are still an up and coming group but already have a large following. I got one of their t-shirts when I saw them over the summer, their shirt is a quote from one of my favorite songs from them. You can listen to it here-seriously such an uplifting and motivating song.

Now, back to the outfit details, I paired this shirt with a new pair of black leggings that are fleece lined! Your girl is officially in heaven, not only are these leggings comfortable and long lasting but are now extra warm-perfect for cool evenings or chilly days. Believe it or not, I got these leggings for Christmas from the Hallmark store- you never know where you are going to find a new piece of clothing to add to your collection.Ā

Up close of the outfit

I paired the dark leggings with my go to high black boots from DSW, which as much as I hate to say it, I think this might be my last time wearing them for the season since Spring is around the corner, as much as I am ready and here for Spring, Iā€™m going to miss these staple shoes in my winter collection.Ā

Closer look at one of my favorite parts-the fleece lined leggings!

Since it was still a bit chilly out, I decided to wear my long off-white sweater just to have an extra layer on. Iā€™ve talked about this sweater time and time again but it truly is a go-to sweater for my wardrobe in every season. The sweater is from the Scandal Collection at The Limited.Ā

This outfit is the perfect compromise for making your favorite concert t-shirts into an outfit. What are your favorite ways to wear your favorite concert t-shirts?!

Let me know in the comments below!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Look of the Day #97

LOTD

Hi All!

Happy Thursday!

I hope you have a great week. Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am. This semester has been so busy yet so good. By the time the weekend rolls around, I am definitely ready for a rest!

Todayā€™s outfit is perfect for the transitional weather. The days when it is cold in the morning but warm in the afternoon. The colors I am wearing are also warmer cools, perfect for fall, and winter. Although, the weather is still chilly I am more than ready for Spring, I am ready for lighter colors, less layers, and more time in the sun. It has been a VERY long winter. Haha! Letā€™s get to todayā€™s look of the day.

Transitional clothing for the win

I decided to first put together this outfit by mixing and matching different pieces that I typically donā€™t wear together. I first started to put this outfit together by matching a simple pair of jeans and a white shirt. I got these regular jeans from Old Navy, my go to place for jeans. My plain white t-shirt is from Gap. Old Navy and Gap are my go-to places for affordable but good quality clothes. I love to pop in whenever Iā€™m home just to see what things are new and in stock.

I love this burgundy sweater from American Eagle. I donā€™t wear it often, but when I do, I love what it does to an outfit. It is big and bulky, but it keeps me so warm and cozy. Especially during transitional weather, I donā€™t even need a jacket to wear when I am out and about with this sweater. Plus, I love the pop of color it brings to an outfit. It really breaks up the simple blue jeans and white shirt look.

Lastly, I am rocking my go-to black boots from DSW. When I got these boots last spring I never would have guessed that I would be wearing them so much and putting them with so many outfits. They have been easily my favorite and most worn purchase in a long time.

A perfect outfit for fall, winter, and early spring

Thatā€™s a look into what I have been wearing these in between days. My fingers are crossed for some consistent weather soon. See you on Tuesday for a look into whatā€™s been going on in my life. Have a great weekend!

Look of the Day #96

LOTD

Hi everyone!

Happy, happy Thursday! I hope you all had a great week. Itā€™s crazy how fast this week went by. I am headed home for the weekend to see my family since I havenā€™t seen them since coming back from Rome. It will be nice to relax for a bit since I have been going non-stop these past few weeks.

Last weekend, I went to a semi-formal dance with my friends from school. It was the last one for me and so many friends since they are graduating in May and Iā€™ll be graduating in December. My good friend Bailey and I made a weekend out of it and had the best time. We started out with dinner, hung out with friends, went to the dance, and hit up the gym and breakfast the next day. It was by far one of my favorite weekends of the year. I wanted to share the details of my outfit for todayā€™s look of the day. I canā€™t wait to share this more formal look with you all.Ā

Starting out night out with the dance
I don’t know what I would do without this girl. Truly the best friend I could ask for!
My friend Danielle was also at the dance and we had a blast dancing the night away
Bailey and I along with our friend Olivia hit up the gym early the next morning
Followed by brunch, I love these girls to death, not sure what I’m going do without them next year.

I have been going to all my semi-formals in college and I havenā€™t bought one dress, Iā€™ve reworn all the dresses from past homecomings or other formal occasions. I will admit, I look much better in the dresses in college than I do in high school, itā€™s amazing what a few years can do. HA! Hereā€™s a look down memory laneā€¦

First, letā€™s start with the dress. I got this dress a few years back and I wore it for Christmas. I loved it when I wore it then and I was so excited to wear it again. The cream-colored dress was perfect for spring and the scalloped neckline was my favorite part of the dress, not to mention the unique material. I got this dress from Francescaā€™s Boutique.

All ready for a night out

Since the dress is very simple, I knew I needed a few pops of color, that came in the form of my red shoes, jewelry and makeup accents.

Up close of the dress

I got these red pumps from DSW last year and although they arenā€™t my go-to shoes, they are great to have to add a pop of color to an outfit. I got them last year to wear with my all black dress I wore for Christmas, you can see that outfit here.  I always think itā€™s important to have a fun shoe to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit.

I also opted for a bit of colors in my jewelry. Since the neckline was unique, I didnā€™t want anything overpowering.

I also made the decision to wear more neutral make up but add a pop of color with my lip choice of a bright red. I wanted the accent color of red to stand out without being too over powering.

I always love the opportunity to dress up for a fun night out and last weekend was the best. After a busy week, Iā€™m looking forward to a quiet weekend at home. See you all on Tuesday!

Look of the Day #95

LOTD

Hey guys!!

Happy Thursday! I hope you have had a great week! With March more than half way done, we are getting closer and closer to warmer, spring weather. Iā€™ve already been on the lookout for spring clothing and accessories. One thing that I have seen in a lot of stores are bold, floral patterns. Iā€™ve already picked up a few pieces that I canā€™t wait to incorporate into my spring and summer wardrobe. Even though Spring is on my mind, I still have a few more outfits that are geared towards transitional weather. Todayā€™s look of the day is more on the casual side but with a pop of business casual. Letā€™s get to this preppy look.Ā

Modern yet classic style for today’s look of the day

Starting with the jeans. I love these boot cut jeans from Old Navy. Iā€™m currently keeping my eyes open for a pair of jean capris or skinny jeans. Until then, I am sticking to my regular cut jeans, and boot cut jeans for the remaining weeks of colder weather.Ā

I love to dress up jeans or add a pop of color with a pair of dark jeans. However, with todayā€™s outfit I wanted to go with neutral colors and tones. I decided to go add just a plain white long sleeve shirt. I got my plain white shirt from Gap. I love the quality of their clothing for a good price. There is nothing like a crisp white shirt and a pair of navy jeans to make a simple outfit look clean and preppy.Ā

Up close of the details

Since the weather is still chilly, I wore my high black boots when I was out and about. Although, these have been my go-to shoes for the winter, I am looking forward to bringing in some lighter and brighter shoes for the spring and summer.

I decided to polish off this look with a navy blazer. Not going to lie, I borrowed this from my momā€™s closet and never returned itā€¦opps! What can I say, itā€™s a very good quality blazer, that is well fitted and can work with many outfits. You can wear it with dresses, skirts, dress pants, and jeans. This blazer is from Talbots, it is more of a traditional or classic womenā€™s clothing store, the clothing never goes out of style. For this outfit, I opted for more of a casual look, wearing it with jeans and a white shirt. Iā€™m looking forward to wearing it with more professional pieces of clothing in the future.Ā

All ready for a day out

Thatā€™s a look into my latest outfit. I hope this gives you inspiration for your next look. Have a super weekend!
