Look of the Day #38

Happy TGIT! Another week in the books. Today, I have another layered look for you! We have been going through a heat wave and I’m taking advantage of it by layering my outfits. Now you may see some similarities between this week’s outfit and last week’s outfit, but this one is more professional. Let’s get started.

I’m loving this heat wave and I’m taking full advantage of it!

I’m wearing my simple black shoe boots. Not only are these shoes comfortable but they are simple and don’t draw a lot of attention to your shoes. This is helpful when you are working in a more professional setting. They can be worn with dresses, skirts, and jeans.

Speaking of jeans, I’m wearing my favorite boot cut jeans from Old Navy. I love how they fit comfortable and fashionable. I have had them for a few years and they have held up very well. I would rather pay more for jeans and have them for a while rather than pay less and have to get new jeans every year.

I layered my top for my outfit, I am wearing a pinstripe button down from GAP, I have worn it previously with white capris or white shorts in the summer, but it can also be layered for a fall or winter look. I wore a deep yellow sweater from Forever 21 over my button down. I love how the blue and white match with the mustard sweater. I finished my top off with a blue vest from Francesca’s Boutique.

When it comes to accessories, I wore this deep purple, yet simple necklace to tie my outfit together.

I love to dress preppy and this outfit is a perfect example of a college prep look. This outfit is perfect for fall and winter. I love to layer especially when its cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. Here’s to hoping we get more warm weather sooner than later. Layering is for the Ladies.

Today’s look of the day is all about layering. I love to layer my outfits especially in the fall and winter. Layering gives you the option to be comfortable in warm or cool temperatures. I’m an enthusiastic fan of Old Navy. Their clothes are inexpensive and pretty good quality, they will last you a few seasons. I get all my jeans from there. They have assorted styles and sizes for each individual body type. Lastly, you can’t beat their sales. Whenever I am home from school, I always take a peak in Old Navy. This post is not sponsored by Old Navy, I’m just sharing my love for it and encouraging you guys to check it out. Now moving on to my outfit.

These are my favorite go-to high black boots. I’ve worn them in the past with leggings, dresses and skirts but now you can see them with jeans. They are super comfortable and great for fall and winter.

These jeans are from Old Navy, I’m wearing the regular, straight cut jean. I also have a pair of boot cut, I tend to wear those with a wedge or heel.

Let’s talk about this sweater. How cute is it? I love the red hearts and navy. It goes perfect with the blue jeans as well. Also, it may be a few months away but this sweater would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. Since my sweater was light weight I paired it with my navy vest from Francesca’s Boutique. Now, if it has already started to snow by you, a navy coat would complement the sweater and jeans as well.

I wore simple gold jewelry and wore a coral-red for a pop of color on my lips.

Look of the Day #17

Happy Fall!

As we transition from summer to fall, I like to incorporate outfits that can work if it’s cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon or vice versa. This outfit is one of many that is perfect for transitional weather. It can work in the spring and fall or even winter if you layer it the right way.

Starting at the bottom, these are my favorite fall booties. I wear them with jeans, leggings, dresses, and skirts. They are suede, have laces, and have a wedge on the heel. A perfect fall shoe boot. I’m already planning lots of outfits with these shoes so prepare to see them a lot during the fall months.

I decided to wear black leggings with this outfit, however, if you want to dress the look up a bit, black dress pants would go great with it as well. My shoes and leggings are solid, neutral colors which means my top needs to have a bold feel to it. This floral top was perfect to add to my outfit. I got this top from Francesca’s Boutique and I have worn it with jeans, leggings, even a black pencil skirt. I love how versatile it is. It’s lightweight and it is made from satin-like material. Simple jewelry can be used to finish off the ensemble. This look is easy and can be thrown together in minutes.

This outfit would be perfect to wear to class with leggings. It would also be great to wear out to drinks with the girls paired with a pair of jeans. This top could even be worn to a business meeting with a pencil skirt. The possibilities are endless.
