Look of the Day #43

Happy Thursday! Another week is almost in the books. It’s crazy to think we are almost through March.

Today’s look of the day is a bit more formal. While I was home for Spring break, I went out for the night. I wanted something that was dressy but still warm since we were hit once again with snow. This outfit not only works for a night out but for Sunday mass, or even a day in the office.

Outfit for a night out!

I got this blue top with gold and silver designs from Francesca’ s Boutique a few years ago. I usually wear it with dress pants or a skirt, I have worn it with jeans, but I like to wear it more formally and dressed up.

I got these blue dress pants from The Limited. I got them a few years ago and they have worked out great for dress pants. Their navy-blue color makes them easy to pair with other tops. They are also superior quality, so I know I cam depend on having them for a while.

I wore a pair of nude patent leather heels to top off the outfit. I got them from  DSW a few years back. I strongly recommend that every woman own a pair of nude shoes, whether they be flats, heels or wedges. They are a must have in any wardrobe. They can go with any outfit and are very versatile. I have worn these heels with homecoming dresses, skirts, dress pants, and in every season. Plus, they are super comfortable. Win-Win!!

I made the decision to change up my hairstyle for Spring. I’ve been having fun trying new styles and dos with shorter hair. If you have any suggestions for short hair, please let me know!

Look of the Day #37

Hi friends. Happy February!!

February is one of my favorite months. From the reds and pinks, to everything heart shaped and who could forget the chocolate?! I love everything about the month.

Last week we had a couple of warm days, and when I mean warm, I mean in the high 40’s low 50’s. I’ll take what I can get for January. I took advantage of the warm days with a few layered looks. I love to layer clothes for both style and comfort.

Today’s look of the day!

Here’s what I threw together. I love these brown shoe boots. I got them from Bass a few years ago and I love the style and the character it brings to any outfit. I have worn them previously with a dress and a skirt but wearing them with a pair of boot cut jeans are my favorite.

The jeans I am wearing are from Old Navy, which by now you probably know how much I love their jeans and all the styles they come in. This plaid flannel is from GAP, I love to wear flannel in transition weather. I love how pink and navy blue look together, so when I saw this flannel I had to get it. This blue vest, which I got from Francesca’s Boutique matches perfectly with my blue jeans and pink and blue flannel.

As for accessories, I am wearing my favorite matte lipstick from Bare Minerals. I love shopping with Bare Minerals, its excellent quality and long lasting.

Simple but statement pieces to add to this layered look.

I wanted out bring out the gold detailing in my vest by wearing this bold gold necklaces and these gold dangling earrings.

This outfit is perfect for college students heading to classes or for a Saturday excursion. If you still want to wear this outfit and it is chilly out, no fear just wear your heavy jacket when you are out and when you get inside sow off your layers, it will also keep you warm inside.

Look of the Day #36

Blue is the word today.

Happy Thursday friends!

This week has flown by, before we cruise into the weekend I have some outfit inspiration that would be perfect for a Saturday look. I wore this comfortable yet fashionable outfit to class, I loved how I looked put together and chic but I was still comfortable. This outfit would be great to wear out with friends, running errands or to class. I love to find clothes that I can wear on more than one occasion.

Blue, blue, and blue and how it could work for YOU!

Some snow has been melting (but it won’t be for long.) so I took advantage and wore these cute suede shoe boots. The wedge is just the right heel. I wore these soft jeggings from Target. I love going to target to pick up some extra leggings, they always have fun patterns and styles, plus they are made from good material which makes them last long. Although I love to be bold with fun tops, sweaters, and vests, there is nothing wrong with just wearing a solid shirt. I got this turquoise blue shirt from GAP and it is made from the smoothest, softest, silkiest material. It is so lightweight but so comfortable. I love wearing it when I have long day.

I wore pretty neutral colors, so I had to dress it up with some accessories. I wore my favorite bracelets from Francesca’s Boutique. I dressed my fingers up with gold rings from American Eagle. I am wearing my monogrammed bar necklace which I absolutely adore.  I wore a pair of gold studs to finish off the outfit.

Look of the Day #30

Layering is for the Ladies.

Today’s look of the day is all about layering. I love to layer my outfits especially in the fall and winter. Layering gives you the option to be comfortable in warm or cool temperatures. I’m an enthusiastic fan of Old Navy. Their clothes are inexpensive and pretty good quality, they will last you a few seasons. I get all my jeans from there. They have assorted styles and sizes for each individual body type. Lastly, you can’t beat their sales. Whenever I am home from school, I always take a peak in Old Navy. This post is not sponsored by Old Navy, I’m just sharing my love for it and encouraging you guys to check it out. Now moving on to my outfit.

These are my favorite go-to high black boots. I’ve worn them in the past with leggings, dresses and skirts but now you can see them with jeans. They are super comfortable and great for fall and winter.

These jeans are from Old Navy, I’m wearing the regular, straight cut jean. I also have a pair of boot cut, I tend to wear those with a wedge or heel.

Let’s talk about this sweater. How cute is it? I love the red hearts and navy. It goes perfect with the blue jeans as well. Also, it may be a few months away but this sweater would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. Since my sweater was light weight I paired it with my navy vest from Francesca’s Boutique. Now, if it has already started to snow by you, a navy coat would complement the sweater and jeans as well.

I wore simple gold jewelry and wore a coral-red for a pop of color on my lips.

Look of the Day #26

My favorite color combo for Fall/Winter.

As we get into the middle of November, we are closer to winter than fall. I like to start to transition my clothes from fall to winter colors. Black is my favorite color to wear. A color so simple can go with every outfit.

I wore this outfit out to shopping and lunch and it was perfect for the chilly air. I get my jeans from Old Navy. I love how they carry styles for every body type. I am wearing the body cut jeans and I paired them with my favorite black shoe boots. Wedges or peep toe shoes would also work with these jeans. Since it is getting colder I opted out of a peep toe.

I got his black top from Francesca’s Boutique. I love the wrap around your midsection and the detailing on the top. The shirt is also very comfortable with soft fabric.

Since I am pairing black and navy together, I wanted to add some bling with gold accents. I am wearing gold hoops and rings both finds from American Eagle on sale!

Good Vibes Only especially on a Thursday

This outfit was perfect for a day of shopping and fun. When it gets colder, throw on a black jacket and you are good for a night out. Have a fun filled weekend!

Look of the Day #19

Sporty-chic

Are you in search for a casual but sporty look for the fall? I have just the outfit for you today. I threw this outfit together one Saturday when it was warm in the morning but cool at night. Last week, I shared how I try to stick to wearing colors perfect for fall and this is another example.

Let’s break down this outfit starting from the bottom. Because it’s still early fall, converse are still acceptable, in a few weeks it will be time for boots, short and tall. I wore leggings with this outfit since I was out and about but, black jeans or black pants work just as well. I got this leggings from GAP, I love how thick they leggings are and they last a long time. In any season, I try to keep my pants a neutral color so I can have more fun with the top and accessorizing it. My burgundy sheer top is from Tilly’s. It has three-quarter length sleeves so it works nicely in transitional weather. Because the top is sheer I typically wear a tank top underneath. My sweater is also from Tilly’s. The is one of my favorite dark sweaters to wear in the fall and winter. It’s over-sized so it covers not only your top but leggings and booty as well. I don’t always wear long sweaters since I’m short but if I find one that fits well, then I buy it. Plus they work great for leggings. Since I am wearing a lot of dark colors I decided to wear a long gold necklace from Francesca’s as well as gold earrings to break up the color scheme.

Look of the Day # 13

Summer is quickly coming to an end so I’m trying to wear as many summer outfits as possible.
I’m loving this romper to wear day or night as summer is winding down.

Although I wear sundress or short sets, I’m always down for a romper, it’s quick, easy, fashionable, and a big trend this summer. I got this jean romper from Francesca’s Boutique, a favorite store of mine. One of the many reasons I am rocking this romper is because it’s a simple one piece that can be dressed up or dressed down.

I decided to dress it up with wedges and gold jewelry, however you can wear a pair of sandals or flip flops for a more casual look. You can make the look more dramatic with a pair of gladiator sandals. If you are going for a sporty look, a pair of converse would work as well. If you are wearing it out to dinner, a sweater and clutch can be paired with it as well. There are so many ways to wear this simple outfit, the possibilities are endless.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer for they are fleeting.
