Look of the Day #112

LOTD

Hi folks!Ā

Itā€™s Thursday! One more day till the weekend! I donā€™t know about you, but I am ready for the weekend. Iā€™m planning on visiting college friends after work on Friday and enjoy a summer fun weekend. The weeks are filled with work, so I am always down for an entertaining weekend. Since, I will be having fun this weekend, I figured it was time for a fun outfit to go with it!

This ensemble was giving me all the nautical vibes, put me on boat and let me sail into the sunset. Hey, a girl can dream!

Letā€™s break down this look.

Summer Fun

This pinstripe shirt, is one of my favorite pieces from GAP, it can be layered, worn solo, dressed up or down. I wore it layered here,I wore it to work here, and now I am wearing it dressed down. I love the soft material and the soft blue and white colors. The versatility of this shirt allows you to mix and match outfits without breaking the bank. Iā€™ve tucked the shirt in for more professional looks, but I was going for a more carefree style, so I left it untucked.

I opted for a pair of high waisted shorts from Marshalls. These are my favorite summer shorts. They donā€™t wrinkle easy and are a good length, not to short and not too long. I loved the way it let the thin blue stripes pop against the white shorts.

Close Up of the Outfit

Lastly, I decided to finish off my outfit with a big daisy necklace fromĀ Francescaā€™sand daisy drop earrings also fromĀ Francescaā€™s.I donā€™t wear this bulky jewelry often, but when I do, I want it to stand out. A pair of sandals from Old Navy, completed my outfit.Ā

Up close of the jewelry

This finishes off my look of the day. Itā€™s crazy to think we are heading into Augustā€¦soak up these next few weeks of summer! Enjoy the weekend!

Hello All!

Happy April!

I hope your Aprilā€™s are all off to a good start. I am back to school for the last leg of the semester. This semester and year has flown by!Ā  My April is jammed packed, if I survive this month, I think I can tackle anything. Haha.

Today, I am sharing the outfit I wore on Easter. I spent my Easter Sunday by attending mass and spending time with family. I couldnā€™t have asked for a better day. Ā I think Spring is finally upon on, I wanted to get in the spirit with this bold print floral dress. I donā€™t often wear these colors, but I saw the dress a few years ago and couldnā€™t resist.

I actually purchased this dress two years ago from Nordstromā€™s . Unfortunately, it is no longer in stock. Ā I wore it for my high school Baccalaureate Mass. It was held at the end of the year and I love the bright colors. I love to buy things that are very good quality so i can wear them on numerous occasions especially as I will be heading into the real world soon. I love the dark blues and greens, but I love the pop of yellow even more. I decided to bring out the yellow with these light-yellow heels from Kelly and Katie, I got them at DSW a few years ago as well. I added some simple but classic to go along with the dress and shoes.

I donā€™t often wear bold dresses like this, but I decided to change up my look for Easter. I often choose to wear simple colors and add bold jewelry or accessories as my statement pieces. Today, however, my dress was my statement piece.

I canā€™t wait for Spring to get fully underway for all things spring fashion. What trends are you looking forward to this spring/summer season?

Also, I will be out of town this weekend, to follow along with my adventures, check out my Instagram for all things travel @elspethsdaybyday

See you next week!!

Happy Fall!

As we transition from summer to fall, I like to incorporate outfits that can work if itā€™s cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon or vice versa. This outfit is one of many that is perfect for transitional weather. It can work in the spring and fall or even winter if you layer it the right way.

Starting at the bottom, these are my favorite fall booties. I wear them with jeans, leggings, dresses, and skirts. They are suede, have laces, and have a wedge on the heel. A perfect fall shoe boot. Iā€™m already planning lots of outfits with these shoes so prepare to see them a lot during the fall months.

I decided to wear black leggings with this outfit, however, if you want to dress the look up a bit, black dress pants would go great with it as well. My shoes and leggings are solid, neutral colors which means my top needs to have a bold feel to it. This floral top was perfect to add to my outfit. I got this top from Francescaā€™s Boutique and I have worn it with jeans, leggings, even a black pencil skirt. I love how versatile it is. Itā€™s lightweight and it is made from satin-like material. Simple jewelry can be used to finish off the ensemble. This look is easy and can be thrown together in minutes.

This outfit would be perfect to wear to class with leggings. It would also be great to wear out to drinks with the girls paired with a pair of jeans. This top could even be worn to a business meeting with a pencil skirt. The possibilities are endless.

Have a wonder-FALL weekend!
