Any Taylor Swift fans out there?! Tomorrow, Taylor Swift is dropping her latest album, Lover. Although, I’m not a die heart Swiftie, I enjoy her music and it has been interesting to see her evolve from her country roots, to 1989, Reputation and now Lover. In honor of her new album, I am showing another way to rock your favorite concert t-shirts.
You may recall, last fall, I showed how you can sport a concert shirt in the fall and winter. You can see that post here. Today, we are switching gears for the summer months.
Last week, I put together this simple but fun-loving outfit. I was hanging out with friends and I wanted to change up my wardrobe a bit. I first started out with the concert t-shirt I got from the Reputation tour last year.
I wanted to dress the outfit up a bit, therefore, I paired the black and white shirt with a crisp white pair of shorts. I got these a few years back from Marshalls, and I love the high waisted look, not to mention how durable they are. I am going to be retiring them soon with Labor Day approaching.
Lastly, to complete the look, I wore my gladiator sandals and black hoops and a top knot to complete the outfit. Throw on a pair of aviator sunglasses and you are good to go!
Next week, I will be back in classes, so be prepared for all the back to school posts! Enjoy the last few days of summer!
I hope you all have had a fulfilling and productive week! Today’s look of the day is going to be a bit different since I am going to be talking about a fashion trend and making it your own.
One trend that never seems to go out of style is concert t-shirts. They are a great piece of memorabilia from going to your favorite concert and you can wear them time and time again, the one problem I have with concert t-shirts is knowing where and when to wear them. Just with jeans? With sweats around the house or to the gym? It can be a hard piece of clothing to wear with outfits. After collecting t-shirts from a lot of concerts, I think I found the solution. Make a statement outfit with you t-shirt.
I’m going to show you an outfit I styled a few weeks ago, that still looks put together even with a t-shirt. Let’s get to it!
We will start with the central part of the outfit-the concert t-shirt. Last summer, I went to see The Piano Guys in concert in New York, for those of you who aren’t familiar with The Piano Guys, you should totally check them out they started on YouTube, perform covers of hit songs as well as write their own songs. They are still an up and coming group but already have a large following. I got one of their t-shirts when I saw them over the summer, their shirt is a quote from one of my favorite songs from them. You can listen to it here-seriously such an uplifting and motivating song.
Now, back to the outfit details, I paired this shirt with a new pair of black leggings that are fleece lined! Your girl is officially in heaven, not only are these leggings comfortable and long lasting but are now extra warm-perfect for cool evenings or chilly days. Believe it or not, I got these leggings for Christmas from the Hallmark store- you never know where you are going to find a new piece of clothing to add to your collection.
I paired the dark leggings with my go to high black boots from DSW, which as much as I hate to say it, I think this might be my last time wearing them for the season since Spring is around the corner, as much as I am ready and here for Spring, I’m going to miss these staple shoes in my winter collection.
Since it was still a bit chilly out, I decided to wear my long off-white sweater just to have an extra layer on. I’ve talked about this sweater time and time again but it truly is a go-to sweater for my wardrobe in every season. The sweater is from the Scandal Collection at The Limited.
This outfit is the perfect compromise for making your favorite concert t-shirts into an outfit. What are your favorite ways to wear your favorite concert t-shirts?!
Today, is a very good day as tomorrow is fall break. The first half of the semester has been very busy, so I am looking forward to having some much-needed time off. In the midst of midterms and papers, I keep reminiscing about my Ed Sheeran concert last week. One of my favorite souvenirs to get at a concert are the t-shits! They are a good reminder of the event and you can wear them often. When I have gone to concerts in the past and I get t shirts, I really like to make a whole outfit of it not just a regular t-shirt.
Today’s look of the day is dressing up a t-shirt into a cute outfit. The statement piece of this outfit is obviously my Ed Sheeran t-shirt. I opted for the white t-shirt instead of a black one to break up the colors.
Since it is fall and the weather is cooler, I decided to wear a pair of straight cut jeans, yes, the same ones from the concert, they are not only comfortable, but you can dress them or down. I got my jeans from Old Navy.
I added some brown hues to my wardrobe with my boots and jacket. These peep toe brown boots are perfect for fall, especially when the weather is cool in the morning but warm in the afternoon. I got these boots for an affordable price at T.J. Maxx.
Since my concert shirt is short sleeves, I knew a jacket was a must. I wore this brown leather jacket from Francesca’s to finish off my outfit. It not only kept me warm, but it was also stylish.
This was just one way to wear a concert t-shirt. I did go to a few other concerts this past summer, so I will be showing you other ways to wear this look.
I’m off to wrap up my last few classes before it is officially fall break! I am counting down the minutes.
