I canāt believe we are almost to the end of October. Last weekend was super busy, I worked a lot so I am looking forward to a slower week ahead and a fun weekend too. This month flew by, I think going home for Fall Break for a few days definitely broke up the month. Speaking of fall break. I had the best time at home. I unplugged and unwound which was much needed. It was so good to get away from school and work for a break and escape to my home for some down time. I also managed to get some fun fall time in. Here are some suggestions for some fall festivities as well as a recap from my time home.
Fall Drive
Take a fun drive to see the changing leaves, pumpkin patches or take the back roads instead of the highways. I always can clear my head best with a long car drive and some good music. The fall and right around Christmas (especially to see the colorful Christmas lights and decorations) are the best time to take a nice drive.
Whether you are a pumpkin spice latte lover, hot apple cider fan or love some dessert than fall is the perfect time to enjoy some sweet and savory treats. I personally am a fan of everything apple.
My momās homemade apple crisp heated with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of caramel hits the spot. As far as drinks go, my favorite fall drink is apple cider with my own spin of it. I love to drink hot apple cider with cinnamon, some whipped cream and a pump of caramel. Yum! So sweet and delicious.
Well, there you have it, some fun suggestions for fall activities and my personal favorite fall treats. Yes, I know I left out Halloween. I loved dressing up as a child and going Trick or Treating. This weekend there is a Halloween Dance at School, so I will be sharing my costume next week. Do you have any guesses? What are some things on your fall bucket list?
It has been a well-paced week after fall break. This weekend will be a busy one for me as I have to work but itās the last time I have to work weekends this semester. Yay!! Itās the little things in life that bring me bursts of joy. Haha!
Well, we are more than half way through October which means we are fully in the midst of the fall season. Todayās outfit is perfect for a fall walk, a trip to a coffee shop or going to class. It is both cuddly and cozy-two of my favorite fall things. Just give me a cup of hot apple cider and a good book and then I am one happy girl.
Letās break down this fall outfit. I love the oversized turtle neck sweater from Gap. I also have a hot pink one too that I love to wear in the fall. You can dress up or dress down this sweater with another outfit. It can be worn with jeans, leggings, or even a pencil skirt for a more formal look.
I paired the black sweater with a pair of floral leggings from Old Navy. I love the gray, black, and tan small flowers. They donāt look like leggings especially with the pattern and the big sweater.
I decided to top this outfit off with a pair of tan and black ballet flats. I love how these shoes tie the whole outfit together. I got these cute ballet flats from Forever 21, I have worn them to work, classes, or out shopping. They are both stylish and comfortable. Ā The colors tan, gray, and black all scream fall to me to I love wearing them together.
What outfits do you like to wear to bring in the fall season?
Today, is a very good day as tomorrow is fall break. The first half of the semester has been very busy, so I am looking forward to having some much-needed time off. In the midst of midterms and papers, I keep reminiscing about my Ed Sheeran concert last week. One of my favorite souvenirs to get at a concert are the t-shits! They are a good reminder of the event and you can wear them often. When I have gone to concerts in the past and I get t shirts, I really like to make a whole outfit of it not just a regular t-shirt.
Todayās look of the day is dressing up a t-shirt into a cute outfit. The statement piece of this outfit is obviously my Ed Sheeran t-shirt. I opted for the white t-shirt instead of a black one to break up the colors.
Since it is fall and the weather is cooler, I decided to wear a pair of straight cut jeans, yes, the same ones from the concert, they are not only comfortable, but you can dress them or down. I got my jeans from Old Navy.
I added some brown hues to my wardrobe with my boots and jacket. These peep toe brown boots are perfect for fall, especially when the weather is cool in the morning but warm in the afternoon. I got these boots for an affordable price at T.J. Maxx.
Since my concert shirt is short sleeves, I knew a jacket was a must. I wore this brown leather jacket from Francescaās to finish off my outfit. It not only kept me warm, but it was also stylish.
This was just one way to wear a concert t-shirt. I did go to a few other concerts this past summer, so I will be showing you other ways to wear this look.
Iām off to wrap up my last few classes before it is officially fall break! I am counting down the minutes.
I hope your week is off to a great start. This is my midterm week so it will be a busy week, but luckily I will be heading home for fall break at the end of the week which will be well deserved.
Today I am going to be reviewing something that I canāt live without, my laptop. As a busy college student, I donāt go anywhere without it, itās in my backpack, in my purse, on my desk in in various study places around campus.
***This post is not sponsored or is an advertisement. Iām just sharing my personal thoughts on this product. ***
I got a Mac Book Air at the start of my Junior year of college. Now, I do have an iPhone and iPad, but this was my first MacBook product. In the past I used a PC, Lenovo, which I really loved. However, as I was getting older and needed my laptop for more things, I realized the MacBook Air was the way to go for me. I have loved using my new laptop. I got it on a back to school sale through Apple which gave students a discount which was great, in addition to the discount I also got a free pair of beats with my purchase. The bundling program through Apple made it affordable and useful for back to school students everywhere.
I got my new laptop the day before I headed back to school, so it was a busy last ay home. However, Apple made it easy to transfer my files from my old laptop to my new laptop with just a simple app. It did take several hours to transfer all my documents, pictures, and videos, but when I did it was so helpful to have them all on my new laptop ready to go.
Some of my favorite things about my laptop include the fact that all my devices are connected. I can check my text messages, emails, see my pictures, and use my favorite apps all on my laptop. It makes connecting with people so much easier with everything in one place.
Another feature that I really like about my MacBook Air is the software, it is easy to use, and although it may take some getting used to after being a PC user for so long, it has really been helpful to have an easy software to use.
The Macbook Air is lightweight and has great battery life. With my old laptop, I always had to bring my charger with me and constantly charge it, now I can go several hours without having to charge it, this comes in handy when I am on the go.
I have only had it my Macbook for a few months, but I have loved every second of it. Not only is it easy to use and great to have all my devices connected along with photos, videos, and messages. Yes, this was an investment, but It has been worth it. I had my last laptop for 6 years, so I knew I needed a change, especially when it was practically falling apart. I am looking forward to seeing what other features I can take advantage of with my laptop.
If you have a MacBook Air or Pro what are your favorite tips, tricks, uses for it? I am always looking for new ways to use my technology to simplify my life.
Donāt get me wrong, I LOVE summer but once September hits, I canāt wait for fall. The only problem with that is even though itās September, itās still super warm where I live. Although, I want to break out all the flannels, jeans, and boots, its still 80 degrees outside. Haha! Therefore, I am still wearing shorts, t-shirts and summer styles of clothing for the next few weeks but donāt worry-my white is put away until next year. Haha!
With that being said, here is what I am wearing today.
I got this fun silk-like blouse from Old Navy a few years ago and I love to wear it with shorts (black or white), capris, or even a pair of jeans in cooler weather.
Since it reached mid-80ās today, I decided to wear a pair of black shorts from Old Navy with it. I chose black to darken the outfit a bit since we are getting closer to fall weather and moving away from summer weather.
There was a bit of a chill this morning, so I wore this fuchsia sweater over this spaghetti strap top. The pink sweater also brought out the pink accents in my top. Don’t be surprised but I also got this sweater from Old Navy...shocker right?! Haha!
To continue to transition this outfit to fall, I decided to wear these fun dressy sneakers with my outfit rather than a pair of sandals. I got mine for sale at Target.
Although the weather is still so nice, and I am trying to enjoy it as much as I can, I still try to try to transition my wardrobe. I transition in simple ways like by wearing darker colors, closed toe shoes, or adding sweaters or long sleeves or pants to my wardrobe.
I canāt wait for fall to be in full swing.
When do you start to transition your wardrobe from season to season?
Ahhh! A new school year. There is something special about fresh supplies, new classes, a full schedule and lots of new material to cover. I have always enjoyed school. I love learning new things and being in a school environment. Also, with a new school year also comes fall!
I started classes last week and although the first week seemed to drag on and take forever, Iām really looking forward to this semester. I am excited for the classes I am taking as well as the things I am learning. Of course, I would be lying if I wasnāt a bit nervous about the amount of work and papers that will need to get written in the next 15 weeks. I seriously get so overwhelmed putting everything on my calendar for the semester, but I always need to remind myself to take it day by day and who isnāt up for a challenge?
In honor of a new semester, here are some of my goals/plans/ hopes/dreams for this semester.
1)Ā Ā Ā Ā Work Ahead
With a busy semester full of classes and working, it will be crucial for me to work ahead and get stuff done early so I donāt have it hanging over my head when I have other things to do and commitments. I will have my calendar and planner to keep me on top of everything.
2)Ā Ā Ā Ā Be Intentional
This is something new I want to try. I am an organized person and I always try to be productive, but I want to be intentional with what I am doing. So, if I am working on a paper I want to focus just on that and not be distracted by other things I have to do. I want to spend my time well, so I can work hard and play hard, which leads me to my last goal.
3)Ā Ā Ā Ā Have fun
Although, this will be a busy semester and I have a lot going on, I still want to make it a point to have fun and hang out with friends. I have a few friends studying abroad and graduating in December, so I want to make it a point to create memories with them before things change.
I am hoping I can accomplish these goals this semester. I always like setting goals at the start of a new year or semester and see how I do at the end.
What are your goals for this semester or school year?
It’s officially back to school season as well as the last week of August. Boy, did the summer months fly by! I have to admit, with classes back in session, I am looking forward to fall. From the fall outfits, festivities, and warm treats I am ready to start transitioning to the fall season. I love all the seasons but the transition from one season to the next is my favorite.
Since there is only one more week left in August before Labor Day, I’m trying to wear white as much as I can. This outfit is perfect for one last summer event or heading to class if you are back to classes like me.
You may recognize this top and that’s because I have worn it before with this outfit. I love to try and find clothing that can be reborn in any season and this top is the perfect example of something that can be worn all year round. I love the material as well as the small striped pattern.
The top is dark so I decided to balance it out with these white shorts-one last hurrah before Labor Day-yes, I am a firm believer of not wearing white after Labor Day.Ā I love how the two materials and colors balance each other out.The top is from Francesca’s and the bottoms are from Marshall’s, both from a few years back but still in great condition.
Lastly, to top of this fun outfit, I decided to wear my slip on fashionable sneakers. I got mine from Target for a great price. I love how I can wear them transitioning from summer to fall. I Ā wanted to change it up to accommodate the warm weather instead of wearing sneakers or converse. These shoes are more dresses and not as casual. They are also supportive for walking around campus all day.
That’s a peak into what I am wearing this last week of August. With Labor Day coming up, what are your plans for the weekend? I’ll be at school relaxing and catching up on homework. Have a great weekend!

I was spontaneous but there is always room for improvement.
I truly had a wonderful summer. I lived a lot, learned a lot and really took care of myself and had some fun. Summer 2018 you were so good to me! Fall Semester, letās get to work!
Summer can be a very busy time, between work, getting enough sleep, and getting used to a new routine, it can be hard to see those close to you.
I am very fortunate that I live at home in the summer. I love spending time and doing things with my family. We always try to eat dinner together every night, and we spend our weekends and weeknights doing things together. I love spending time with my family.
However, I often find myself not spending a lot of time with my friends. I live about two hours from most of my friends from college, so I donāt often see them, luckily, I am still close to a few friends from high school who I try to see frequently. Most of the times our work schedules donāt line up, we have other commitments going on or we live far apart. I have been very good about trying to see friends in the summer, which I am proud of. Here are a few things Iāve learned about making time to see your friends in the summer.
Donāt just say it, Do It!
When school is winding down, you may catch yourself saying, āwe have to see each other this summer!ā, but does it happen? We often get caught up in our busy lives that we forget about others. If you truly want to see someone, make it happen. Due to my friends from college living so far away, I know Iām not going to see all of them, but maybe I can try seeing one or two.Ā A few weeks ago, I was in need of some girl time with one of my close friends from college, Olivia. We both found a day we were free and met up to get lunch and go shopping. Rather than me driving two hours to her or vice versa. We met halfway for both of us. It worked out perfectly. We got to visit, grab lunch, scored some sales, but most importantly, just catch up. Iām so glad we did something rather than just saying we were and not follow through.
A few hours is better than nothing
I have a few close friends from high school who I try to see often in the summer and on breaks. However, we all work different times and schedules, so it can be hard for all of us to get together for a long time. We find it works best for us to just grab dinner, ice cream or brunch for a few hours rather than try to find a full day to spend together. We try to also get together for big events. For example, my family and I throw a fourth July party and my close friends are always invited. Itās a great time to see each other and celebrate.
Be Spontaneous
Yes, itās great to plan ahead when you are seeing someone from out of town, but also be spontaneous with your outings. My close friend and I both work downtown in the summer. We both had the same lunch break and met up for lunch downtown. It was unexpected and yet, so fun. My other friend was free for dinner so him and I just went to grab something quick. Even if you canāt get your whole group of friends together, it is good just to catch up with one rather than none.
I think most college students can relate to not seeing their friends or family as much as they want in the summer. What do you struggle with? Spending more time at home with family or out with friends? Letās Discuss!!
With June almost through, something most college studentās like myself have on their minds are internships. Whether they are in the process of completing them in the summer months or applying for them for the fall, internships are something every college student must endure.
Internships are not all that bad, they give students great experience for a career they may be considering, provide networking opportunities for college students, and may even lead to a job one day.
This summer I am completing my second internship and I am loving it. I am getting a lot of experience and learning things every day about a profession I am seriously considering. Last summer, I also completed an internship where I learned a lot as well. For both internships, I received college credit and they were nonpaid. Most internships only accept college credit and are nonpaid. If you have the opportunity to get a paid internship thatās an added bonus-and you should accept it. Each internship is different in their own way.
I have complied a list of doās and donāts when it has come to internships. If you have worked or are currently working at an internship, please leave in the comments below any things you may add.
DO
-Show up on time (whether it is your first or last day be sure to arrive on time or a few minutes early to start the day. Ā Arriving early is always the start to a good impression)
-Dress Professional (When applying or interviewing for internships be sure to ask what the appropriate attire is so you can plan ahead. As well as being professional, make sure you are comfortable. As cute as heels are they are not good for being on your feet 8 hours a day-ballet flats all the way.)
-Ask questions and take notes (Donāt be afraid to speak up or ask questions, you wonāt learn things unless you ask. It can be intimidating the first few days and you will get a lot of information thrown at you, be sure to take notes and write everything down to make sure you keep everything in order.)
DONāT
-Be on your phone (Besides it being unprofessional to be on your phone while working, it takes away from the experience of what you are learning. If you find yourself with free time, try asking if there is anything that needs done or if there is anywhere you can help out.)
-Overstep or overshare (Keep in mind wherever you intern that you are an INTERN, you are not the center of attention- you are there to learn, observe, and help out where needed. You are not there to run the company but rather see how the company is run.)
-Just sit there and wait to be told what to do (Take initiative and see what you can do to help to do your part. Be a leader and show you are a go-getter and want to work hard. This will stand out to employers.)
These are just a few things Iāve learned by completing two internships as well as asking employers as well as other friends who have interned at a variety of businesses. If you have interned someplace or hire interns what advice would you give to rising interns, leave them in the comments below! Good Luck with your summer jobs and internships.
