Look of the Day #60

LOTD

Happy Thursday!

I promise I have some fun in the sun outfits coming up soon, but for now another formal, business casual look is up for today. This is just a peak into my summer…high hopes for fun in the sun but in reality, a lot of work. Although, I have no complaints, I actually enjoy getting dressed up for work and mixing and matching outfits. I love to put together outfits that I already have in my wardrobe.

Todayā€™s look is no different, I had this dress for several years now, but this look was one of the first few times I paired it with these accessories. Letā€™s get started.

Amazing how you can transform a white dress

I got this white eyelet dress from Old Navy about five or six years ago-yes, I have had it for a while and it still is a great summer dress. Also, I always rave about Old Navyā€™s clothes and this is just another testament to their good quality when it comes to how their clothes are made. I have worn this dress to Sunday Mass, graduations, summer parties, and to work. A very versatile dress, if I do say so myself.

An up close look at the details.

Due to this dress being simple and white, I knew I had to spruce it up with some color. Thatā€™s where this blue cardigan and orange necklace came in. I chose the blue crop sweater (also from Old Navy) because I wanted to break up with white and I knew it would be a bit chilly. The blue laid perfectly on white dress and I really loved the preppy look it gave off.

Dress, cardigan, and necklace

I chose the orange necklace as a bold statement piece against the white and it did not disappoint. I loved the unique style and I think it truly tied the outfit together with the blue and white. i too, got this necklace from Old Navy.

An alternate look-just the necklace and dress

Lastly, I wore a pair of my favorite nude wedges to cap off the outfit. I got them from DSW a few years back and they have held up strong. You canā€™t go wrong with a nude shoe!

Overall, I was very happy with how this outfit turned out. When I chose this outfit, I just had the dress in mind and I was so glad I had the accessories around. This outfit came from my closet and costed $0!!

Where are your go-toā€™s for summer fashion!?

Letā€™s meet back here same time, same place! Have a great weekend!

Look of the Day #59

LOTD

Hello friends!! Happy belated Fourth of July! I was not a fan of having the Fourth of July in the middle of a week. I was working on Tuesday and now I am back to work today, so between work and the holiday it is a very busy week. The Fourth was a very fun holiday. I was able to see family, friends, eat good food, and relax. Even though, it has been a packed full week, Iā€™m very happy with how it has turned out.

Since, it is back to work today, Iā€™m sharing another one of my business casual outfits. I have worn this outfit this past week at work, and it was perfect for on the go. Not only is it stylish but it is comfortable and professional looking. Letā€™s get started.

Pretty in pink for work

Last week I raved about these pants and I am wearing them again with a much different outfit. These pink dress pants are from GAP, I love the color, but they also come in blue, black, and khaki. A color for every need you may have. I like how they look more like a dress pant and not a jean or tight like a pair of leggings.

I matched my pink pants with this pink, black, and white dress blouse. I got this blouse from Marshalls on sale!! My favorite store plus a sale-what more could you ask for!? I love how it goes with the pink pants. I have also worn this top with a pair of white capris to bring out the white more in the top.

Lastly, I paired a simple pair of black flats with this outfit to top off the outfit. I got mine from Old Navy and absolutely adore them! As much as I love my wedges or heels, I wear flats at work since I go to different places every day and I am constantly on the go-not the ideal place for heels.

Always good to have a sweater with you

In case you get cold easily like me, I always throw a cardigan or light sweater to wear. I brought a white short sweater to wear in case I got chilly. Itā€™s always good to be prepared at work or on the job.

I hope you all had a wonderful and fun day with your families and friends celebrating the Fourth of July. Have a great weekend ahead. See you on Tuesday!!

Look of the Day #58

LOTD

Hello Friends! Itā€™s Thursday, only one more day till the weekend! Woo Hoo!

Earlier in the summer, I mentioned how I would be sharing more professional and business casual outfits for the intern, college student, or new employee. Today, I have a new outfit that is cute, colorful, professional, and affordable. What more could you ask for?!

Ready for a new day at work

Letā€™s break down this outfit. I got these cute pants from GAP. This year I have really been struggling to find dress pants, so many pants on the market today are skinny, tight and almost look like leggings-not what I am looking for in a dress pant. I found these at GAP and not only did I love the cut, form but the color is too cute to pass up. The rose-colored pink breaks up the neutral colors that I wear to work daily. I have a few other print and neutral tops for work that I often wear with white or blue pants, so these pink pants will break up the colors. Iā€™m positive you will be seeing these pants more this summer.

I got my blouse from Francescaā€™s Boutique. I love the sleeves. The blue and pink go so well together. I like how you can wear this top with a blazer or sweater or by itself. Because it is a solid top, I knew I had to dress it up with some jewelry.

I like the simplicity of this necklace but at the same time it adds dimension and character to this outfit. Silver is also a great color that can tie outfits together. Another reason why I chose to add it to my outfit. Ā I decided to wear a simple pair of blue drop earrings to finish off my jewelry.

As much as I love heels, itā€™s not always smart to wear them at the workplace where you could be running errands and on your feet all day. These simple, black, pointed toe ballet flats from GAP are perfect for the office setting. They are professional but also comfortable.

No matter where you work, you can always spruce up your wardrobe while not breaking the bank. Just remember not to go overboard as you are still in the workplace and are representing the place you work.

Have a great weekend!

Look of the day #52

LOTD

Hello All!

Itā€™s officially the start of summer (or work season for me)! This will be a busy summer for me as I will be doing an internship and working part time. I’m super excited to learn new things and be exposed to new experiences!Ā  Due to these jobs, I will be working in a professional setting and I will be wearing a lot of business casual outfits this summer. The next few looks I will be sharing will be geared towards a business style.

It’s all about looking professional today on the blog.

Today, is my first professional attire look, I got these navy blue, dress pants from The Limited. I love how they can go with any bold blouse, sweater set, or cardigan. Ā The length on them works great if you want to pair either a ballet flat, small pump or stiletto with them. The quality is also long lasting, I have had them for a few years and have worn them on numerous occasions.

Along with the blue dress pants, I am wearing a bold pink and navy-blue top alongside the pants. I wanted to break up the solid pattern with my pants. I got this silky long sleeve top from Francescaā€™s Boutique. Previously, I have worn this top with cotton skirts, leggings, and even jeans, it is so versatile. I personally like to wear this top with business looks, but it never hurts to mix it with other outfits.

Lastly, I wanted to rave about these navy-blue pumps I am rocking on my feet. I got them from DSW, several years ago. I donā€™t wear them too often since I typically wear black or brown shoes, but I love how these neutral shoes really break up my outfit.

Thatā€™s a peak into my closet today on the more formal side of things. If there is ever a look you want to see styled. Let me know in the comments below! I am always open to new ideas and styles. Have the best weekend!!

Look of the Day #44

LOTD

Hello and happy Thursday!

Todayā€™s look of the day is giving me major Olivia Pope vibes. Any Scandal fans out there?! So crazy to think we are in the last season with only a few episodes left.

What a boss!!!

Okay, enough about tv, itā€™s back to fashion. Ā I had a busy day last week with a few meetings thrown into the schedule, so I needed an outfit that was professional, comfortable, and warm. After spending a good 10 minutes going through my clothes, I put something together that fit the criteria.

Perfect outfit for any professional.

I am wearing my favorite faux leather leggings from Target, which you wouldnā€™t even guess they were leggings by the look of them. I have had them for a few years and I havenā€™t had any trouble with them so far.

I paired them with my favorite and most comfortable suede wedges. I have been wearing these nonstop this season. I love how they are so versatile and can go with so many of my outfits. I got them on sale from Shoe Carnival last year and have been very happy with their quality.

I wore a long sleeve black top from GAP for my top although, with my scarf and blazer you couldnā€™t see it. I love GAP and Old Navyā€™s clothing especially their solid tees. I stock up on them when they are on sale. You can never have too many black or white long and short sleeve shirts.

Speaking of Old Navy, I got this scarf from there a few years ago, I have worn it with dresses, skirts, and even jeans. I love the neutral colors and pattern.

My blazer is my favorite part of my outfit. I got it on sale from Marshalls, a few years ago. Marshalls and T. J Maxx are go-to stores for me. I love the variety of clothes they have, and you canā€™t beat their markdowns, they are always having sales. I finished off my outfit with simple gold jewelry.

I do love pops of color, but sometimes, you just have to go with the simple, and neutral colors. I hope this showed you, that you donā€™t have to break the bank to look nice and professional AND, donā€™t be afraid to mix and match clothes.

Have a great weekend.

Look of the Day #43

LOTD

Happy Thursday! Another week is almost in the books. Itā€™s crazy to think we are almost through March.

Todayā€™s look of the day is a bit more formal. While I was home for Spring break, I went out for the night. I wanted something that was dressy but still warm since we were hit once again with snow. This outfit not only works for a night out but for Sunday mass, or even a day in the office.

Outfit for a night out!

I got this blue top with gold and silver designs from Francescaā€™ s Boutique a few years ago. I usually wear it with dress pants or a skirt, I have worn it with jeans, but I like to wear it more formally and dressed up.

I got these blue dress pants from The Limited. I got them a few years ago and they have worked out great for dress pants. Their navy-blue color makes them easy to pair with other tops. They are also superior quality, so I know I cam depend on having them for a while.

I wore a pair of nude patent leather heels to top off the outfit. I got them fromĀ  DSW a few years back. I strongly recommend that every woman own a pair of nude shoes, whether they be flats, heels or wedges. They are a must have in any wardrobe. They can go with any outfit and are very versatile. I have worn these heels with homecoming dresses, skirts, dress pants, and in every season. Plus, they are super comfortable. Win-Win!!

I made the decision to change up my hairstyle for Spring. Iā€™ve been having fun trying new styles and dos with shorter hair. If you have any suggestions for short hair, please let me know!

Thatā€™s a look into my latest fashion trends. With spring around the corner, what trends are you looking forward to seeing this season? Have a great weekend (and a safe St. Patrickā€™s Day!) !!!

Look of the Day #39

LOTD

Itā€™s Thursday!! We are halfway through February! This month is going by too fast. This was a very busy week, but I got a lot of fun things planned for the weekend.

Today, I have a different out for you look of the day. Last week I had a lot of meetings which meant a lot of dressing up. Hereā€™s an example of a business casual look I wore for an interview. I had a lot of these pieces already in my wardrobe it was just a matter of putting them all together. I wanted to look professional for my interview, but it also was the last thing of the day following a full day of classes with not enough time to change. I wore this outfit to all classes and then to an interview and dinner. I was comfortable the entire day and felt good about what I was wearing.

A more formal look for today.

I wore my simple black shoe boots from DSW. I chose these since they were comfortable, professional, and simple. I wore a pair of black tights to go with my simple, black cotton dress.

I got this dress from Old Navy a few years ago just to have as an extra dress and Iā€™m surprised how much Iā€™ve worn it. I have worn it to Mass, Work Interviews, Class Presentations, even Funerals. I have gotten a lot of wear out of this dress and it was one of the smartest purchases Iā€™ve made.

In order to break up the all lack of color, I wore a winter white sweater from the Scandal Style from The Limited Collection. I also paired a long necklace and pearl earrings to top off the look.

I am always looking for new ways to pull outfits together. When it comes to solid colors, you can mix and match them. Thereā€™s no better feeling than pulling a new outfit together with things you already have. I hope this draws some inspiration for the next time you wear a little black dress out.

Have a wonderful weekend!
