Look of the Day #125

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I canā€™t believe it is already Thursday. This has been a shorter week for me due to fall break. It was so nice to get home for a break and family time, but now itā€™s back to work. I had so many fun fall activities over break and I got to break out all the fall clothes, which brings me to todayā€™s look of the day. 

I went to a fall fest over break and it was the perfect occasion to wear browns and burgundy. I started out my outfits with these maroon/burgundy pants from American Eagle. I love how they are pants but are made from soft material and are easy to stretch and move around in.

I love to pair these pants with a neutral top, I often go with a cream, black or white. Today, I went with a white. Due to chillier temps, I matched a brown leather jacket from Francescaā€™ Boutique with it and wore a gray infinity scarf also from Francescaā€™s Boutique as well.Ā 

I kept the brown consistent through the outfit with brown boots that I got from T.J. Maxx a few years back. I love the shorter boot and how well it matches with the outfit.Ā 

This ensemble would be great for a fall day with temperatures in the 50ā€™s, not too chilly but not super warm either. I love to layer in this season, so this outfit works out even better. The colors give you all the fall vibes and itā€™s in style too. Whatā€™s your favorite part about fall fashion?!

Look of the Day #97

Hi All! 

Happy Thursday!

 I hope you have a great week. Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am. This semester has been so busy yet so good. By the time the weekend rolls around, I am definitely ready for a rest!  

Todayā€™s outfit is perfect for the transitional weather. The days when it is cold in the morning but warm in the afternoon. The colors I am wearing are also warmer cools, perfect for fall, and winter. Although, the weather is still chilly I am more than ready for Spring, I am ready for lighter colors, less layers, and more time in the sun. It has been a VERY long winter. Haha! Letā€™s get to todayā€™s look of the day. 

Transitional clothing for the win

I decided to first put together this outfit by mixing and matching different pieces that I typically donā€™t wear together. I first started to put this outfit together by matching a simple pair of jeans and a white shirt. I got these regular jeans from Old Navy, my go to place for jeans. My plain white t-shirt is from Gap. Old Navy and Gap are my go-to places for affordable but good quality clothes. I love to pop in whenever Iā€™m home just to see what things are new and in stock.  

I love this burgundy sweater from American Eagle. I donā€™t wear it often, but when I do, I love what it does to an outfit. It is big and bulky, but it keeps me so warm and cozy. Especially during transitional weather, I donā€™t even need a jacket to wear when I am out and about with this sweater. Plus, I love the pop of color it brings to an outfit. It really breaks up the simple blue jeans and white shirt look. 

Lastly, I am rocking my go-to black boots from DSW. When I got these boots last spring I never would have guessed that I would be wearing them so much and putting them with so many outfits. They have been easily my favorite and most worn purchase in a long time.

Look of the Day #69

Happy Thursday friends!

Thursdays are my favorite day of the weekā€¦want to know why? Because the week is almost over and there is only one more day till the weekend. Speaking of the weekend, I am getting excited for the weekend with the help of this cute outfit. By this point, you all know how I love to mix and match outfits. I love to mix and match more than I like buying new stuffā€¦almost. I love coming up with different looks and create new outfits with things I already have in my closet. Who doesnā€™t like to show off a new outfit without spending a penny?

Letā€™s get to the details.

All smiles for the weekend

Last week, I talked about transiting my wardrobe from summer to fall, although it is still very warm outside, I am starting to wear darker colors to start getting in the fall mood. The colors I chose for my outfit are burgundy and black, even though I am in shorts and a short sleeve shirt, it still felt like a good mix of fall and summer.

I got this Fri-Yay shirt from Francescaā€™s Boutique. It is such a staple in my closet especially on Fridays when I have plans for the weekend. This black top can go with any outfit whether it is jeans, shorts, or leggings. Iā€™m obsessed.

These scalloped shorts are also from Francescaā€™s Boutique, I have worn them a lot of this summer and last summer and I loved how well they worked with this top. The colors blended so well.

There was a bit of a chill in the air so I wore this long black sweater to keep warm, and I love the fall(ish) look it added to my outfit. I got this sweater from Tilly’s.Ā 

For shoes, I put on my favorite black sneakers. I got mine from Target and wore them a lot this summer but Iā€™m looking forward to wearing them in the fall even more. Not only are they comfortable but also stylish.

I donā€™t often post selfies, but I wanted to show off my burgundy choker and how it complements my shorts.

Thatā€™s the latest out I am wearing. I know it may seem crazy but Iā€™m really looking forward to some cooler weather so I can really get into the fall mood.

Look of the Day #45

Happy (Holy) Thursday!

I am home for a long weekend for Easter Break. Not only is it a time to celebrate Jesusā€™ Resurrection, but It’s great to be home for one last long weekend to refuel for the end of the semester.

Last weekend, I had a semi-formal dance at school, it was an exciting time to dress up and have a good night with friends. I am sharing what I wore along with the accessories. Unfortunately, I got this dress a few years ago, so itā€™s not sold anymore but hopefully, this inspires you to try a new bold look the next time you are shopping.

Throughout high school, I attended all my homecomings, proms, and semi-formals. I loved getting dressed up for a night with friends to make memories. However, it can add up with everything you need, and most of the time you only wear the dress once and it goes up in your closet. Lucky for me, for every formal or semi-formal occasion I have had in college, I was able to rewear something I wore in high school. This saved me money from buying new dresses, and it allowed me to wear the dresses I wore in high school again. Thankfully, dresses I wore in high school still fit and are in style.

Now, letā€™s get down to the details of this dress. I got this dress from Francescaā€™s Boutique a few years ago on sale! I was drawn to it’s bright color and how fun it looked. The ruffles made the dress so unique. At the time in high school and last semester, I was rewatching Gossip Girl (definitely a good show to binge watch!) and I couldnā€™t help but notice the similarities between my dress and the iconic dress Blair Waldorf wore in Paris in season 4.

I paired this bright red dress with a pair of red heels I got from DSW this past year. I wore them with a black dress for Christmas, and the red from my dress matched the red shoes so I had to pair them together. I dressed up this look with some fake diamond studs to add some bling to the outfit along with a red sparkle nail polish, it is called Pretty Pout from Chrome Girl Nails.

I used the KoKo Kollection face palette from Kylie Cosmetics along with the Burgundy Eye Shadow palette for my makeup.

When I first saw this dress a few years ago, I wasnā€™t sure I would like the dress since it was very bright and bold, but now it is one of my favorite dresses. Donā€™t be afraid to wear something that is bold. You may end up loving it.

Look of the Day #38

Happy TGIT! Another week in the books. Today, I have another layered look for you! We have been going through a heat wave and Iā€™m taking advantage of it by layering my outfits. Now you may see some similarities between this weekā€™s outfit and last weekā€™s outfit, but this one is more professional. Letā€™s get started.

I’m loving this heat wave and I’m taking full advantage of it!

Iā€™m wearing my simple black shoe boots. Not only are these shoes comfortable but they are simple and donā€™t draw a lot of attention to your shoes. This is helpful when you are working in a more professional setting. They can be worn with dresses, skirts, and jeans.

Speaking of jeans, Iā€™m wearing my favorite boot cut jeans from Old Navy. I love how they fit comfortable and fashionable. I have had them for a few years and they have held up very well. I would rather pay more for jeans and have them for a while rather than pay less and have to get new jeans every year.

I layered my top for my outfit, I am wearing a pinstripe button down from GAP, I have worn it previously with white capris or white shorts in the summer, but it can also be layered for a fall or winter look. I wore a deep yellow sweater from Forever 21 over my button down. I love how the blue and white match with the mustard sweater. I finished my top off with a blue vest from Francescaā€™s Boutique.

When it comes to accessories, I wore this deep purple, yet simple necklace to tie my outfit together.

I love to dress preppy and this outfit is a perfect example of a college prep look. This outfit is perfect for fall and winter. I love to layer especially when its cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. Hereā€™s to hoping we get more warm weather sooner than later. Hello and Happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing a more formal outfit, I wore to to a Semi-formal dance last weekend, but in the past, I have worn it for Christmas.

This burgundy and black dress is from Francesca’s Boutique. This unique fabric gives the dress a fitted top and waist but a wide skirt. I love finding clothes and dresses that are unique. Francesca’s offers a wide variety of unique clothes, styles, and accessories. Some pieces of clothes I would never think to wear together. This is one of my favorite purchases from Francesca’s I love the black detail on the bottom of the dress.

For my accessories, I wore a black statement necklace and matching earrings. Although, the jewelry may look formal, I have worn them both with jeans and a blouse. The jewelry is very versatile. I wore my favorite black heels for a night out. I am a big fan of heels,Ā  if you are not a fan of heel, a black wedge would go cute with this outfit too. I would pair this with black tights in the winter months but since its still fall, I decided to hold off.

My nails are done in black and the are from Chrome Girl Nail Polish. I am wearing LikeĀ  A Boss.Ā Ā

Look of the Day #19

Sporty-chic

Are you in search for a casual but sporty look for the fall? I have just the outfit for you today. I threw this outfit together one Saturday when it was warm in the morning but cool at night. Last week, I shared how I try to stick to wearing colors perfect for fall and this is another example.

Letā€™s break down this outfit starting from the bottom. Because itā€™s still early fall, converse are still acceptable, in a few weeks it will be time for boots, short and tall. I wore leggings with this outfit since I was out and about but, black jeans or black pants work just as well. I got this leggings from GAP, I love how thick they leggings are and they last a long time. In any season, I try to keep my pants a neutral color so I can have more fun with the top and accessorizing it. My burgundy sheer top is from Tillyā€™s. It has three-quarter length sleeves so it works nicely in transitional weather. Because the top is sheer I typically wear a tank top underneath. My sweater is also from Tillyā€™s. The is one of my favorite dark sweaters to wear in the fall and winter. Itā€™s over-sized so it covers not only your top but leggings and booty as well. I donā€™t always wear long sweaters since Iā€™m short but if I find one that fits well, then I buy it. Plus they work great for leggings. Since I am wearing a lot of dark colors I decided to wear a long gold necklace from Francescaā€™s as well as gold earrings to break up the color scheme.

Product Review: Kylie Cosmetics

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw I ordered and received my order from Kylie Cosmetics last Friday. Today, Iā€™m gonna do a product review and share my favorites from her collection. Starting off, this is not a sponsored post or advertisement. I’m just sharing my own personal thoughts.

I ordered my first lip kit from Kylie Cosmetics last August, I did a lot of research on the colors and watched a lot of Kylie’s snapchat’s as she modeled the colors Ā and decided to go with KoKo K. I got my package in less than a week. I loved the packaging and most importantly, I loved the lip kit. With my order, I got a lip liner, and matte lip stick. I went with a pink-nude. It works perfect for any outfit. I do recommend putting on a Chapstick before you put on the matte lip stick, so your lips dont get dry. It is long lasting (even through eating and drinkingā€¦it stayed on for the whole night).

Last week, there was a sale for Kylie Cosmetics, buy one get one free. I definitely wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. I got the Burgundy Eye Shadow Palette and got a FREE lip gloss of Posie K. Another thing I appreciated was free shipping for purchases over $40!! Once again, my orders came in less than a week with personalized packaging. I love the details that come along with ordering from online shopping. I love the gloss, the berry color adds a pop of color to any outfit and once again its long lasting. It also adds a shine to your lips and the shine stays there after its on for a few hours.

I love the mixture Ā of mattes and shimmers that come in the eye shadow palette. Ā There are a variety of color tones that can match anyone’s skin. Overall, I was very pleased with my second order and I will be ordering again.

These are the only things I have purchased from Kylie Jennerā€™s makeup company. I obviously wear a lot of other makeup (I get most of mine from Ulta Beauty) or dare I say drug stores?! Haha!! But, it is nice to try something nice and splurge a bit on makeup. Overall, I give Kylie Cosmetics a 10/10 from me! Go ahead and check out their website, they are constantly restocking and having great deals.
