Friday Favorites #40

Hey hey! Happy Friday! We made it through the first week of MAY! I hope you guys are all having a great week. This was a busy work week for me, but so fun, so this weekend is much needed for some R and R.

I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend whether itā€™s family time, doing something with friends, watching the Coronation of King Charles II or enjoying the Kentucky Derby. Thereā€™s a lot going on this first weekend in May.

Todayā€™s roundup of Friday Favorites is a bit of a mix bag, so I hope you find something that speaks to you in this post as I link up with Erika and Andrea

Guacamole Chips– In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I have you covered! We picked these up on a whim for our Taco Tuesday a few weeks ago and they were a hit. They complemented salsa, queso and guac so well. There was a little bit of a kick to them which really added to the chips. If you are a chips and guac fan, consider these for your next Taco night.

Brunch with Babs– I know I am late to the game on this Instagram account, but I found Brunch with Babs a few months ago and I have been loving it. Babs has great tips and advice from cooking and cleaning to housewarming. I have been really enjoying her spring cleaning tips and have been using them a lot lately. If you donā€™t follow her, definitely consider checking her out.

The Diplomat– Have you seen The Diplomat on Netflix? I started watching it last week and have really gotten hooked. Itā€™s all about a government official who gets a new gig as an Ambassador and how she adjusts to her new role with some twists. I loved the casting, the plot, and the storylines. Itā€™s been a fun show to watch to unwind at the end of the day.

Emergency Key- I got this emergency key/tool for Easter and immediately put it on my keychain. It has so many uses and tools if you are ever in an emergency. This is definitely a handy tool to key in your wallet, purse or on your key chain. Take a look at all the uses below. Genius!

And Just Like That Season 2 Trailer– Calling all Sex and the City Fans! The trailer for season 2 is out and it looks good. From the fashion, to the friendship, the one-liners and surprise appearance at the end of the trailer, wowā€¦June canā€™t come soon enough. Iā€™m really looking forward to seeing what happens.

An extra bonus, the series finale of A Million Little Things aired this week, I watched the show from the beginning and although sad, I though the show wrapped up beautifully. If you watched, what did you think? Let me know in the comments below!

There you have it, a fun roundup of favorite things from this week. I hope you have a wonderful first weekend of MAY!Ā

Recommendation Roundup

Recommendation Roundup #1

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!

I’m kicking off a new series today called Recommendation Roundup where I gather and share a variety of things I’m reading and watching. You may see me talk about a series I watched or a book I read in a Friday Favorites post or a Currently post, but this series will be one spot where I share my recent top recommendations for the series. Don’t worry, I’ll still be sharing what things I’m loving week by week, but this series that will come out every few months will be a one stop shop for recent favorite things.Ā

Hereā€™s the first recommendation roundup.

For the book lover:

Taylor Jenkins Reid books. Like so many other readers, I have fallen in love with Taylor Jenkins Reid and her writing. I love that several of her books are in the same universe, meaning you could be reading one book and then thereā€™s a reference to a character from another book. Such a creative way to tell a story and to find little Easter eggs in the books.

So far Iā€™ve read

Daisy Jones and the Six

Malibu Rising

Carrie Soto is Back

One True Loves

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

(I canā€™t choose a favorite since they were all so good and have their unique storylines. But, I do have to say, I have loved seeing Daisy Jones and the Six come alive on the big screen. I canā€™t wait for One True Loves to come out soon.)

Rebecca Serle books. Iā€™ve read a few of Serle books and I love how she ties family, love friendship and finding oneself all in one. I also love how she usually has a twist in her books too. She has a way of writing that once you start, you canā€™t put it down.

So far Iā€™ve read:

In Five Years

One Italian Summer

Colleen Hoover books. I just started reading some of Hooverā€™s books but I have found myself hooked with her thriller themes and intriguing way of writing. There have been so many times when Iā€™ve wanted to stop reading since a storyline was getting intense, but couldnā€™t put it down. Even after reading the books, I still think of the endings.

So far Iā€™ve read

November 9

Verity

It Ends with Us

For the binge watcher:

Downton Abbey (PBS) – A classic period piece with two movies that follows. This series follows a family whoā€™s male heir dies and itā€™s up to the family to find a husband for one of the three daughters within the family. The series follows the wealthy family in England through ups and downs, war, love, marriage, loss, friendship and new decades. I was hooked on this series and equally loved the movies.

Greyā€™s Anatomy (ABC) – A series that I have watched for years. It starts with five interns on the first day working in the hospital and follows them through residency and eventually becoming attendings. Thereā€™s love, loss, death, drama, lots of crazy, unexpected plot twists, natural disasters, characters coming and going, but after over 20 seasons, itā€™s still going strong.

This season is off to a great start!

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime)– This follows a woman who takes a chance on becoming a stand up comedian in the 1950ā€™s. The costumes are fantastic, the one-liners are too funny and the scripting keeps you on your toes. After watching this series, you will wish you were back in New York City in the 1950ā€™s.

Emily in Paris (Netflix)– This tells the story of a young girl who moves to Paris for a job and ends up falling in love with the city. I drool over the fashion, Emily pulls off outfits that I couldnā€™t pull off. Thereā€™s some love triangles, cute one liners, gorgeous Paris scenes and of course lots of finding oneself.Ā

Outer Banks (Netflix)- It may seem like a teen drama and it is, but once you start, itā€™s hard to stop until you see if a group of high school friends discover buried treasure. Just when you think, things canā€™t get crazier, thereā€™s another twist. Definitely a fun show to have on in the background.

For the podcaster

The Simplified podcast -Emily Ley and her team put out episodes once a week where they offer ways to simplify and automate your life. They cover topics like friendship, family, cleaning, organizing, schooling, relationships, holiday prep, summer fun and more. Itā€™s such a fun way to find ways to make my life simpler.

Thatā€™s my recent roundup of recommendations. Some of my all time favorite things. The next time you are searching for something new to read or watch, I hope this provides some suggestions. Happy hobbying!

Friday Favorites #27

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you had a great work week and are ready for the weekend. Itā€™s the weekend before Valentineā€™s Day, which means itā€™s time to bring out all the heart shaped treats and goodies, put on a cute outfit and celebrate LOVE this weekend or early next week.Ā

I made these heart shaped peanut butter cookies last week from Mix and Match Mama and they were so good and the perfect way to enjoy February!

Before we head into the weekend, I have a fun round up of Friday Favorites for you as I link up with Ā ErikaĀ andĀ Andrea.

Letā€™s Dive in!

MADOFF: The Monster of Wall Street- I just finished this four part documentary series on Netflix and really found it interesting. I knew who Bernie Madoff was and what he did, but never knew the whole story and all the background. I found this mini-series to be fascinating and informative. I really liked how they re-enacted crucial moments in history in addition to the interviews of those involved. You can finish this in a weekend or over the course of the week after work. Netflix did a really good job with this docu-series.

Covergirl Concealer- Iā€™m trying a new concealer from Covergirl and Iā€™m loving it. For the longest time, I was using their concealer stick for makeup touch ups. But I wanted to try this new liquid concealer and I have been happy with the results so far. It goes on super smooth and blends really well. There are so many different shades, so you can match it easily to your skin tone. Iā€™m always hesitant to try new makeup products but have been happy with this new concealer so far.

Midnight at the Pera Palace-The winter months have me hunkering down and watching shows and movies on my watchlist on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Midnight at the Pera Palace has been on my watch list for months and I finally got around to watching it and wish I had watched it earlier. Thereā€™s only one season so far and thereā€™s eight episodes in season one, so itā€™s not too much of a time commitment. Itā€™s a Turkish show, but you can watch it in English and with subtitles. It follows the story of a young journalist who does a story about an old hotel and realizes thereā€™s more to the hotel than its history. Hint: it involves time travel and making sure the past doesnā€™t affect the future. 10/10 recommendation.

Caramel Apple Bourbon Trail Mix– I love trying new trail mixes and snacks from Target and Giant Eagle. This trail mix is the perfect mix between sweet and salty. Thereā€™s cranberries, almonds, apple bites and pretzels. Iā€™ve been enjoying this with lunch or as an afternoon snack. Just enough flavor for an afternoon pick me up.

Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris– I saw so many previews for this movie and couldnā€™t wait to watch the movie. Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris follows the story of a woman who works as a house cleaner and looks to fulfill her dream of wearing a designer gown. This movie takes her from England to Paris where she gets a newfound sense of confidence and makes some friends along the way. This movie will have you dreaming of a trip to Paris! Such a cute mother/daughter or girlfriend movie!

Thatā€™s just a look at some things Iā€™m loving this week. Tell me! What are your plans for the weekend? Do you plan on celebrating Valentineā€™s Day or Galentineā€™s Day? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites #16

Hello hello and happy Black Friday!

I hope you had a great day yesterday with family, friends or loved ones. I had a wonderful day with family, visiting, eating, relaxing and watching the parade.Ā  Our family always decorates the day after Thanksgiving, so that’s what I have on my agenda for today along with some fun treats and appetizers for dinner.

As always, I’m linking up with ErikaĀ andĀ AndreaĀ for a weekly edition of Friday Favorites where I share some of my favorite things from this week.Ā

Here’s a round up of some of my favorite things.

First Snow-We had our first big snowfall last week/weekend. Although it was not pretty to drive and work in, it was beautiful to sit inside and read, watch a movie or turn on a fire and look at. Some of it has already melted due to warmer temperatures but I know it will be back soon. Seeing all the big, white, snow flakes gets me in the holiday spirit even more.

New Wall Flower Scent- Speaking of the holiday season, I swapped out my wallflower scent this weekend for this festive scent. I had been using eucalyptus and mint and swapped it out for fresh balsam. It smells like Christmas. Between the snow, decorating and new scents, I am ready for December 25…well I still need to do some shopping but I’m almost there.Ā

Pretzel Bites-I mentioned last week I picked up some fun snacks from Target and wanted to share another snack with you today. I got these chocolate covered peanut butter pretzel bites from Target and they are the perfect sweet and salty treat. You only need to enjoy a few to be satisfied. These would be great to enjoy on their own or a fun addition to a charcuterie board.Ā

One True Loves– I’ve been reading a lot of Taylor Jenkins Reid, I’m just finished the Seven Husbands of Elena Hugo and will be sharing my thoughts on it soon, but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to talk about One True Loves. It follows the story of a young woman who loves her husband when his flight goes missing, it takes her a while, but she moves on and meets someone else, she’s happy and engaged until her husband is found and returns home. It’s up to her to figure out who her one true love is. This story is about love, loss, growth and finding yourself. I breezed through this book in four days. In fact, I finished the last hundred pages in one sitting. A cute, love story with a twist.

The Santa Clauses on Disney Plus– And because I can’t stop talking about the holiday season…have you seen The Santa Clauses series on Disney Plus? I loved the original movies and I couldn’t wait for the series to come out. I love the Easter eggs to the original movies tucked throughout the series. This is a great family-friendly way to kick off the holiday season.

That’s just a look into some of my favorite things this past week. I hope you have a relaxing weekend and wonderful kick off to the holiday season. Happy Friday!

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! This past month was packed and I canā€™t wait to update you all with all the new things going on.Ā

What Iā€™m up to:Ā This past month has been busier for work, I just finished a big project which was happy to get it done and see the end result. Itā€™s been a cold month, so I have spent a lot of time inside, watching tv and doing lots of reading and doing some projects around the house as well as catching up with friends too!

My finished work project

What Iā€™m wearing:Ā It all depends on how bad the weather is. If it’s super cold, then itā€™s pants and sweaters and lots of layers. If itā€™s warmer, and by warmer, I mean above 30 degrees, then I brave the weather with a dress and tights. On days off, itā€™s a lot of leggings and hoodies or sweaters.Ā

What Iā€™m reading:Ā I have been doing so well with my reading this year. I have read 5 books so far. I keep a running list of books of my story called 2021 Books. If you are looking for new books to read this is a starting spot. I also have been doing a book club with my two high school friends, Maddie and Ryan, we have been making our way through a different book each month. We just finished Pride by Ibi Zoboi, which is a modern twist of Pride and Prejudice. Itā€™s been so fun to read new books and share them with friends too!

I have also read, Make Room for What You Love by Melissa Michaels, itā€™s a book about organizing your home, keeping it clean and establishing new routines too. I already do many of the practices in the book, but it was still fun to learn new things.

Another book I read was, Traveling Light by Max Lucado. It broke down Psalm 23, “The Lord is my Shepherd” and had guided meditations and stories to go alongside them. Stay tuned for what Iā€™m reading this month.

What Iā€™m Watching:Ā I finished Virgin River which was a lighter show to watch. It was nice to watch something that didnā€™t require my attention the full time.

I have been watching some movies here and there. I just started a new series, Lupin, on Netflix. If you are looking for mystery, suspense with lots of twists and turns, this is the show for you.

What Iā€™m Loving: Iā€™m loving reconnecting with old friends. This past month, I have gotten coffee with lifelong friends, Iā€™ve been staying close with high school friends thanks to our book club, I have also stayed close with college friends with monthly facetime dates. Staying consistent with friends has been a new yearā€™s resolution and Iā€™m happy to report that Iā€™m doing very well with it so far this year.

What Inspires Me:Ā Iā€™m inspired by food, not trying to be funny, but I have been doing a lot of cooking and have loved finding new recipes and trying them out. I have made soups, pastas, chicken dishes, and more. Every time I try something new, I love the sense of accomplishment with cooking and trying something new.Ā My Let’s Get Cooking Posts has all the recipes there.

My latest pasta and shrimp recipe

What I accomplished:Ā My work schedule has changed a bit, so I had to get adjusted to a new routine. One thing I really like about it is getting more family time. Itā€™s the little things like that make the cold and gloomy days filled with sunshine.Ā I also have really enjoyed getting started with my new year’s resolutions too!

Goals Accomplished from Last MonthĀ Last month was all about establishing new routines, I added some new rhythms in my daily schedule, and I am loving the results Iā€™m seeing so far. By adding more reading and friend time, it has made me more well-rounded and lead a more balanced life. I also wanted to start cooking more and I have found a real passion and love for it. I canā€™t wait to try new recipes.

Baking on days off

Goals for the New Month: I know itā€™s still cold outside, but I want to make a point more to get outside and get more fresh air. I am also looking for a new project to tackle, Iā€™m not sure what it will be yet, but I love getting creative with different projects.

Summer Bucket List Recap

Well friends, it is the end of the summer. This summer has flown by, I think that has to do with the fact so many things are closed or not what they used to be due to Covid, but I also think due to working full time, summer just feels different. Although, I am sad to see summer go, I am looking forward to the new season. I set 20 goals for the summer and now that Labor Day is over, itā€™s time to see if I accomplished them all.

Summer Bucket List
  • Read 20 Books (Iā€™ve read 18 last summer so I want to up my books for this summer)
One of the books I read this summer, book review coming soon

No, this didnā€™t happen, between working full time and spending any free time with family or friends, I was upset this didnā€™t happen but I am looking forward to reading more once the weather is cooler and Iā€™m inside more.

  • Finish 30 Rock (I keep starting it but never finish it)

No, I  am making my way through 30 Rock but still have another few seasons, I did start and finish The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which I absolutely loved! From the costumes to the characters, and them drama and the comedy, it was the perfect summer pick me up.

  • Be outside for 3-4 days a week (whether its swimming, walking, or running)
Going on walks and cutting fresh flowers were a big part of my summer days

Yes! I spent so much time outside especially on my days off or before or after work. I went on a lot of walks, to parks, the beach and zoos. I loved making it a priority to get outside.

  • Spend 30 minutes outside a day (Eating, reading, doing work, I want more sunshine)

Yes! Every morning before work I would spend some time outside to read, to work, or just for a walk, I loved getting some sunshine before I spend my day inside. I also liked spending time outside after a long day too.

  • Go someplace new

Yes! I went on a few day trips which were great for the soul. It was good to get away for a breather and go someplace new, and I got to spend time outside which made it better too.

  • Catch up with college friends (lots of plans have gotten changed due to Coronavirus, so Iā€™m hoping to start rescheduling things)

Yes! I was able to see friends over the summer, outside and socially distanced, but still it was great to see friends face to face instead of just over a screen.

  • See high school friends (hoping to make more time for friends near and far)

Yes! I was able to see from high school friends for both breakfast and dinner, it was so great to catch up and see friends in person and not over a screen.

  • Entertain friends at home (I love entertaining so Iā€™m hoping to have more friends over)

Yes! Although, it was different this year, I was still able to entertain and have people over. It was much more limited this summer due to Covid but having people over made me feel like things were a bit more normal.

  • Wine Tasting (my friends and I have talked about doing this for ages, hoping we can finally make it happen this summer)

No, this didnā€™t happen, but we are planning to do it in the fall once it works better with peopleā€™s schedules and more things are open.

  • Beach Day

Yes! It was great to spend some by the water on the beach and with not a care in the world.

  • Dinner by the water (I love living by the water and having dinner by it is so nice)

I didnā€™t get dinner by the water but I did get lunch and a walk by the water which was perfect and we had beautiful weather too!

  • Kayaking (I love being on the water in any form)
Morning out kayaking

Yes! My brother and went kayaking one morning and it was great to be on the water and get some one on one time together.

  • Working out (I want to keep being consistent with it)

Yes! As soon as gyms reopened I was back in the gym five days a week. I can feel myself get stronger each time I am there which is the best feeling.

  • Pool Day

Yes! I got a handful of pool days this summer with my family and brothers which made me feel like a kid again.

  • Bonfire
Bonfire Fun

Yes! We had a bonfire at the beginning of the summer and I loved sitting by the fire with some of my favorite people.

  • Day Trips

Yes! Whether it was going to see family or friends I got many day trips in which worked out great especially with Covid.

Beach day and a day trip
  • Really take time to slow down ( I took the time during Coronavirus to slow down and I want to continue to do that)

Yes! On mornings before work I was able to relax and take it easy and on my days off I tried to have one busy day with getting things done and one day that was more laid back and relaxed. I want to try to keep this up in the fall too.

  • Summer restaurants (I have a few favorite seasonal places that I canā€™t wait to get back to)

Yes! I was able to hit my favorite spots this summer and introduce my friends to them too which was even more special.

  • Ice Cream shops

Yes! I ate too much ice cream this summer and hit all of my favorite spots. One day I had ice cream twice!

  • Take advantage of local spots and free activities

Yes! I got to do a lot of my favorite things this summer that were local, especially in these hard times, itā€™s always great to support local!

Well there you have it! I am so happy with what I accomplished, from local spots, favorite food places and time outside, I couldnā€™t have asked forĀ

Another month is winding down which means itā€™s time for another currently, update. For those, just joining, once a month, I have a post about what Iā€™m currently up to, from what Iā€™m loving, what Iā€™m looking forward and whatā€™s new. I will have the same questions from month to month but besides that I will have a few new questions and will recap some old ones too. To see last monthā€™s post, you can click here. Now, letā€™s see whatā€™s new in February.Ā

What Iā€™m up to: I finally am into a good routine and schedule with work. When Iā€™m at work, all my attention and mindset is related to work, but on my days off, itā€™s so nice to not have to worry about work or even school anymore. With that being said, Iā€™m still on the look for more hobbies or things to get me occupied on my days off.

What Iā€™m wearing: Dare I say, spring is on its way?! Although, itā€™s still cold, we have had a mild winter so far, Iā€™ve been mixing up my outfits for work. Whenever, Iā€™m planning out my clothes for the week, I always keep in mind, wearing something that is comfortable, practical and professional. Every day is different for me, therefore, being flexible with my outfit choice is key.

What Iā€™m reading: Iā€™m still reading the series, ā€œThe Walkā€ and Iā€™m halfway through, be on the lookout for the full recap coming in March. Itā€™s taken me a while but Iā€™m making my way through it.

What Iā€™m Watching: I just finished season 3 of The Crown and it was so good. I canā€™t wait until the next season comes out. Also, the new season of Outlander is finally out. Itā€™s been over a year since it aired and Iā€™m so happy that itā€™s back and better than ever. I also started watching Evil on CBS, itā€™s definitely dark but it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

What Iā€™m Loving: Iā€™m really loving my life right now. Yes, work can get stressful but I know itā€™s what Iā€™m meant to do and I love every day. Plus, coming home to my family and dogs every day and meeting new people from work and making new friends is great too.

What Inspires Me: I saw this quote the other day and I loved it. It really shows how incredible life is, there may be good and bad moments, but they all contribute to who we are and our stories. I loved the quote so much that I made it the background on my phone.

What I accomplished: Iā€™m so happy with my new routine that I have gotten in place, I finally have a good work and life balance that I have been looking for. Iā€™m making sure I have time for friends, family, work, and myself.

Goals Accomplished from Last Month: I finally got back into a good gym routine. Iā€™m back at the gym 5 days a week, during my work week and days off. I feel better when I am working out and Iā€™ve made some changes with my workout routine which I have been seeing better results.

Goals for the New Month: Iā€™m going to be seeing some of my college friends next week and I couldnā€™t be happier. Then I have more plans to see friends from college later this month. I keep in touch with some of my close friends in college daily, whether itā€™s through facetime or texting or phone calls, but it will be so good to see some of my best friends in person. I canā€™t wait!

Thatā€™s a look into my life right now. Lots of work, some family time, a few visits with friends but overall, lots of happiness.

Hey everyone!

Happy Wednesday. With the new year underway, I decided to start a new series on my blog called ā€œCurrentlyā€ it will be featured once a month about different things that are currently going on in my life. They will be based around things Iā€™m loving, what Iā€™m doing, and other areas of my life that I feel open to sharing. Letā€™s begin with the first edition of ā€œCurrentlyā€

What Iā€™m up to:Ā Iā€™ve been working a lot recently, being the most recent hire, I have been working different hours and shifts that need the help and I am LOVING it. I am getting so much experience and I am learning something new every day which is very exciting. Also, the people I work with couldnā€™t be nicer or more helpful. It truly is a dream come true, doing what I love in a place that I love even more.Ā

What Iā€™m wearing: I have been wearing all the warm clothes that are professional, working in news every day is different so being prepared and practical with what you wear is so important. Hereā€™s a look into one of my more recent looks. I got this dress from Old Navy and I love the cut and style of it, I also wore it on Thanksgiving and it was perfect for the holidays.

A look into my wardrobe

What Iā€™m reading: My mom got me hooked on the series ā€œThe Walkā€ by Richard Paul Evans, itā€™s all about a manā€™s walk across the country, the things he learns and the people he meets along the way. I truly believe that we meet everyone for a reason and they will always have an impact on us and thatā€™s exactly what this book is about. There are five books in the series and I am currently on book two and am loving it. A book review on the whole series will be coming soon.

My latest read

What Iā€™m Watching: All of my favorite tv shows have come back from hiatus which makes me very happy but I have also been binge-watching The Crown on Netflix and I canā€™t get enough of it. With all the news that is coming from the Royal Family today, I am even more interested in the history of the Royal family.

What Iā€™m Loving: Honestly, life is so good right now. I have a job that I LOVE. I get to come home to my family every day in my home which is incredible and I have some pretty amazing people in my life right now, from new friends to old friends. My support system is pretty awesome right now.

What Inspires Me: I saw this tweet the other day and it spoke volumes. Always be yourself and donā€™t change for someone. Also, another quote that I recently found that stuck with me was, ā€œLife is what happens to us while weā€™re planning for something else.ā€ I found that to be so profound and true. We never know what could happen in life so we should enjoy and treasure where we are at now in life.

A new favorite quote

What I accomplished: I have been getting into a good routine of getting into a new routine and schedule since I started working. For the most part, I have a good balance of work, family time and relaxing.

Goals for the New Month: Getting back into a better eating and exercise routine. I have been doing better in January but I want to start February on the right foot and jump right into my fitness goals. I also want to keep maintaining friendships with people from college in addition to new friends that I have made at work. Balance is going to be key in the next month.

And thatā€™s a wrap on the first edition of currently, I may add a new question here or there depending on the month but thatā€™s a look into my life right now and whatā€™s currently going on. Have a great week!

Fall Shows to Start Watching

Hey everyone!

Happy Tuesday! I donā€™t know about you, but this week is one of my favorite weeks of the entire yearā€¦what makes the last week of September so great?! Fall shows are starting back up again! As much as I love binge watching series, there is truly nothing better than following a series week to week, year to year. Call my old school, but I love watching a show and being on the edge of my seat until the next episode airs next week.

I started getting invested with tv series and ā€œmy showsā€ when I was in middle school. I think the first show I remember watching weekly was LOSTā€¦what a throwback, but still such a good show. Since then I have watched shows on all the major networks, everything from dramas, to comedies, procedures, and limited series. I have a few shows that I have watched from the early seasons, but I also find new shows to get into every year. I am so excited for the lineup of shows for this year. Here are a few that I am most excited for and whyā€¦

  1. This is Us
This Is Us

I love This is Us, itā€™s one of those shows that is so relatable, from family issues, to relationship struggles, and the every day life. You have to watch from the beginning, so you donā€™t get confused with the time jumps. I am excited to see where they go this season, they added a lot of new cast members and not only have they been going back in time, but now they are going forward in time. It premieres TONIGHT at 9 pm on NBC.

A Million Little Things

I got into A Million Little Things right after the first episode aired. It follows the story of a group of friends coping with their ā€œperfectā€ friendā€™s suicide and how his friends and family are handling it and moving on. However, there is a lot to uncover following the sudden death. The first season was so well done, I am looking forward to seeing what direction season 2 goes in and what other storylines it explores. It premieres this Thursday at 9 pm on ABC.

How to Get Away with Murder

Another Shondaland show that keeps you on the edge of your seat. After 6 years of getting away with murder, will Annalise Keating and her crew finally have to pay for their crimes?! When I first started this show when it premiered, I was immediately drawn in with the murder and mayhem. There has been a lot of secrets, covering up, and death through the years but Iā€™m anxious to see how it will all end up. The FINAL season premieres this Thursday at 10 pm on ABC after A Million Little Things, all part of the TGIT lineup.Ā

Outlander

If you followed my blog this summer, you know I was obsessed with Outlander this summer. I am so happy they finally announced that season 5 will be back on Starz starting February 16 at 9 pm on Starz. Although, season 4 didnā€™t leave us on a huge cliffhanger, I canā€™t wait to see what has been going in the late 1700ā€™s in America, plus who doesnā€™t love Claire and Jamie?! I canā€™t wait until February! Luckily, I have these shows to hold me over until it comes back on!

The Masked Singer

So far, we have a mix of some drama and some intense shows, we clearly need a bit of reality tv!! Enter, The Masked Singer. I watched some of last season and fell in love with it, it takes whoā€™s under the mask to a whole new level. I love trying to guess who is performing based on the clues they give and their singing abilities. Canā€™t wait to see who is on the show. This premieres TOMORROW at 8 pm on Fox.

There you have it, a brief recap of a few shows I am most looking forward for this upcoming season. DO you have any favorites that didnā€™t make the cut?! Let me know in the comments below! I am always open to new shows, even if my schedule doesnā€™t allow itā€¦haha!Ā I will make it work, that’s a promise!

Have a great week everyone and watch some tv!

Summer Goals

Hey guys!

I hope your week is off to a great start. It has been so nice to settle into a new routine for the summer months.Ā Ā Every summer I try to set realistic goals for the summer months. They can be anything from activities, projects, trips, and small tasks. I start out with a basic list as summer begins and will add things if necessary as the months go on. At the end of the summer, I love to look back and see everything I accomplished and all the memories I created.

Summer 2019ā€¦you are just beginningā€¦letā€™s take a look and see what my summer goals are:

Get license renewed

-A small but necessary task and I got it done right when I got home!

Work/Internship

  • Although summer is for relaxing, I plan to work through the summer. I like to stay busy and working through the summer will definitely keep me busy.

Make College photo albumĀ

  • Through my college years, I have been saving photos and organizing them into years. This summer, I want to get them all printed and organized since my time in college is coming to a close.

Celebrate 21

  • Iā€™m really looking forward to celebrating my 21stbirthday this summer. Iā€™m so lucky I get to be home to be with my family, but Iā€™m looking forward to celebrating this milestone with my friends in Pittsburgh!

See friends from college and high school

  • Speaking of friends, I am making seeing my friends both from college and high school this summer, whether itā€™s coffee dates or day trips, friends are so important and I want to make them a priority this summer.
We didn’t even say goodbye at graduation because we knew we would be seeing each other through the summer

Portfolio (BLS)

  • Another requirement for school that I need to get done before school is back in session for 2019!

Work Study

  • This summer I will be working remotely for a job I hold back at school. There are a few projects that I will be working on that I am excited to get started on.

Read 12-15 books

  • I am an avid reader and I am really looking forward to reading a lot over the summer. I already made a stop to my local library to check out a few books to get a start on summer reading.
First book of the summer…

Download pictures to laptop

  • Again, another task, it wonā€™t take long but I want to make sure I have all my photos from this past year saved to my laptop.

Spend time with familyĀ

  • Since this is my last summer home I want to make sure I soak up as much family time as I can, whether it is family dinners, soccer days, or pool days. I canā€™t wait to get some quality family time in.
Looking forward to a full summer with the fam!

Day Trips

  • I love taking day trips, whether it is to the city, in the country, or to see family and friends. Iā€™m hoping to spend a few days going to new places this summer.

Start Healthier habits

  • I have gotten into good routines while I am at school and I want to continue those routines at home, whether it hitting the gym several days a week, eating healthier foods and meals, or just setting time aside to relax. Getting into a good routine is something Iā€™m looking forward to this summer.

Go to a concert

  • I have a concert planned for September with one of my best friends, but I want to try and hit up another summer concert. Anyone with suggestions, please let me know.

Beach days

  • I may live close to the beach, but that doesnā€™t mean I spend all summer there. Last summer, I went to the beach on the last day I was home. I want to make more of an effort to go to the beach, whether itā€™s for the sunset, sunrise, or a day in the water.

Family Vacation

  • I have been reflective in the past few months with everything that has been changing and Iā€™m looking forward to getting away with my family for a summer trip. Where and when that will be is still up in there air, but none the less, Iā€™m looking forward to making some memories.

Find a new show to Binge watch

  • Every summer, I always am on the look for new shows to binge watch. Iā€™m currently finishing up Dawsonā€™s Creek-an oldie but a goodie! Iā€™m now on the hunt to find a new show to watch this summer. Any good suggestions?

Take more walks outside

  • In an effort to spend more time outside, I want to take more walks, whether it is at sporting events, at the end of the day after work, or around lunch. Iā€™m looking forward to enjoying the outdoors more.

Weekly facetime calls with friends

  • Back to the friendsā€¦can you tell I miss my college friends?!  A few of my friends from school and I have suggested doing weekly facetime calls to keep each other in the loop with whatā€™s going on. Itā€™s a weird feeling going from seeing your BFFā€™s all the time to going weeks without seeing each other.
You mean I won’t be seeing my friends every day….thank gosh for FaceTime!

Try something new

  • Leaving this one up in the year. I want to try something new and pushed from my comfort zone. We will see what happens and what I try.

Try new recipesĀ

  • I love to cook and bake. This summer I want to try some new recipes and even come up with a signature dish. I am into salads right now, so I have a feeling I will be making lots of different salad combinations this summer.

Entertain Friends/family

  • I love to host people at my home and I learned it all from my mom. In the summer, we love to have friends and family over and Iā€™m looking forward to doing some entertaining this summer.

Do something spontaneous

  • This goes along with trying something new, even though I love my schedules and routines. I want to be spontaneous and more flexible. Iā€™m hoping to accomplish that this summer.

Be Present

  • After a stressful and busy semester, I want to be present and just live this summer. There will always be things to do and tasks to accomplish, however, I want to make an effort to just be happy where I am at.
Made this my background for my phone to only focus on the positive things in life

That concludes my summer goals. It may seem like a lot, but overall, I think it is a good mix of realistic and mental goals. Overall, I want this summer to be one filled with happiness, love, laughter, friendship, purpose, and maybe even a dance.

Have a beautiful week! xoxo
