Look of the Day #119

LOTD

Good morning friends and happy Thursday!

Have you enjoyed the shortened four day week Itā€™s always so nice to start the school year off with a long weekend to ease into the new year.

I love September for so many reasons, one of them includes the fact that fall is around the corner. However, it can be a challenging month with weird temperatures, sometimes itā€™s cold in the morning but then warm in the afternoon. I like to choose outfits that work for these weird weather days. I also like to start bring more fall colors into my wardrobe, goodbye blush colors and whites, and hello all the goldens, reds, and browns.

Do you ever have that dress/ skirt/ pants that you are constantly finding new ways to mix and match with different outfits? That happened to me when I bought this dress last fall. Iā€™ve blogged about it before and Iā€™m going to blog about it today with a new style in mind.

I wore it in the fall last year with boots and a scarf.

Last fall

I wore it in the spring with peep toe boots and a jean jacket

Last Spring

Now Iā€™m wearing it today with sandals for a great outfit to kick off the school year with! The weather was warm and sunny. I opted for the dress with no jacket or scarf since it was still warm. I got this versatile dress from Old Navy.

This Summer

I did ,however, accessorize with this dark red necklace to bring out the fall colors. I also kept the gold consistent with earrings and a ring. My earrings and necklace came from Francescaā€™s Boutique and my ring is from Alex and Ani.

Accessories

Lastly, I wanted to keep the dark color scheme going with navy blue sandals from Old Navy. This outfit is perfect for the classroom or a casual weekend excursion.

Simple sandals

I love that I have worn this outfit in every season, not sure if I can pull it off in winter, but we shall see!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Look of the Day #118

LOTD

Hey guys! Happy Thursday! I am almost through with my first week of classes. Is it just me or does the first week of a new year/ job/ semester always seem to drag and be disorganized? I am looking forward to getting ahead on work this weekend and taking advantage of the long weekend too.

Since it is almost Labor Day, itā€™s almost time for all the white to be put away until next spring. Today, Iā€™m sharing one last summer white look of the day, that allows us to hold on for summer while also transitioning to cooler temperatures.

Last of the whites for the summer

Letā€™s start with this white cotton dress. By far, one of my favorite purchases. Itā€™s so easy to throw on for a date night or shopping trip, light weight for packing, and can be layered as well as dressed up or down. I purchased it from Old Navy a few years back and while I donā€™t wear it all the time, itā€™s nice to pull out to wear something different.

I wore it recently on a cooler morning, so I knew layering was a must. Instead of just a pink or navy sweater, I opted for a jean jacket. This is my favorite one from Old Navy. I love the way the cotton and jean jacket work well. It kept me warm while also being stylish.Ā

To finish off my look, I wore my go-to pink loafers. DSW is my go-to for all unique shoes, like these! I love the detail and design and they look so fun to add to solid outfit, not to mention that are very comfortable.Ā

Up close of the details in the dress and jacket

Although, Iā€™m sad summer is coming to an end, Iā€™m so glad we have warm weather here to stay! Just because we are putting white away doesnā€™t mean we are saying goodbye to summer outfits! Have an wonderful extra-long weekend!

Look of the Day #117

LOTD

Ā Happy Thursday!

Any Taylor Swift fans out there?! Tomorrow, Taylor Swift is dropping her latest album, Lover. Although, Iā€™m not a die heart Swiftie, I enjoy her music and it has been interesting to see her evolve from her country roots, to 1989, Reputation and now Lover. In honor of her new album, I am showing another way to rock your favorite concert t-shirts.

You may recall, last fall, I showed how you can sport a concert shirt in the fall and winter. You can see that post here. Today, we are switching gears for the summer months.Ā

Last week, I put together this simple but fun-loving outfit. I was hanging out with friends and I wanted to change up my wardrobe a bit. I first started out with the concert t-shirt I got from the Reputation tour last year.

Taylor Swift is the headliner of the outfit

I wanted to dress the outfit up a bit, therefore, I paired the black and white shirt with a crisp white pair of shorts. I got these a few years back from Marshalls, and I love the high waisted look, not to mention how durable they are. I am going to be retiring them soon with Labor Day approaching.Ā

Lastly, to complete the look, I wore my gladiator sandals and black hoops and a top knot to complete the outfit. Throw on a pair of aviator sunglasses and you are good to go!

An outfit good for going out or playing around

Next week, I will be back in classes, so be prepared for all the back to school posts! Enjoy the last few days of summer!

Look of the Day #116

LOTD

Hi All! Iā€™m officially back to school. I moved back on Tuesday. It was so good to get away last week for some fun and R&R with my family. Although, I am back to school for work that doesnā€™t mean the cute summer outfit have to stop. I am loving all the colors this outfit has to offer.

Full outfit

For starters, I love these bright pink shorts I got from Marshalls, they are the perfect length, not too long or short. This bright pink is great to wear with a white tee shirt or blouse for a more dressed up shorts outfit.

I opted for a more casual outfit by pairing my pink shorts with this Simply Southern tee shirt. I love the brand Simply Southern. I have a long sleeve shirt that I wear often in the fall and spring, but this short sleeve top is great in the summer. The front is a plain light blue, but the back has the cutest design, ice cream, summer and happiness are the perfect combination! The light blue and pink are great colors to coordinate.

Up close of the back

I decided to wear a pair of sandals with this outfit, but sneakers or wedges would both compliment the outfit well. Although, I am back on campus, I plan on spending time outside and still enjoying the warm weather.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Look of the Day #115

LOTD

Hi All! This week I have been taking some time off and relaxing with my family before I move back to school next week. It has been so nice to relax and unwind a bit before itā€™s back to school and the hectic fall schedule.

One of my favorite things to do when I want to change up my wardrobe is to mix and match outfits. I love using pieces that are worn more formally and make them more casual.

You may remember a few years back, I wore this outfit.  I really dressed it up with a blouse and heels and wore it to a graduation. Flashforward a few years and I have worn this outfit or variations of it in different ways.

Did someone say throwback Thursday?!

Todayā€™s look of the day is an example of another way I have worn this outfit.

Soaking up the last few weeks of summer

I kept the same skirt that I got from Victoria Beckhamā€™s Collection from Target, a few years ago. I still love the bright color and detail as well as the comfort it offers.

Instead of a dressier blouse, I opted for a simple white tee. I love the simplicity of a white shirt. Gap always carries my favorite white shirts. They are affordable and long lasting, not to mention easy to wash.

Up close of the outfit details

I was on the go when I wore this outfit so I wore my favorite slip on sneakers with it. I wore these all through Rome, so although they may be from Target, they are long lasting!

My on the go shoes

What else is new with the outfit? I decided to chop my hair before heading back to school, I needed a change and my hair was the best place to start.

Fresh cut for senior year

I am going to enjoy these last few days of summer before itā€™s back to school.  Have a great weekend!

Look of the Day #114

LOTD

Hey guys! I canā€™t believe it is August 1!? Where has the summer gone! This has been a packed full summer for me and I have loved everything I have done so far! I only have a few weeks left of summer before itā€™s back to school. I am going to make the most of the remaining weeks of summer.

I am so excited to share todayā€™s outfit with you. I pieced it together with all things I already had in my wardrobe and I loved the end results. If you read my post on Tuesday, you may have caught that red is my favorite color, but I donā€™t wear a lot of it since it is so bold. I always jump at an opportunity to wear something fun and out of the box.

I started my outfit out with a white pair of capris. I got my favorite pair from American Eagle and love the cut and style, they can be worn dressed up or dressed down. I personally like to cuff mine at the bottom for a different look.Ā  I am also wearing a Michael Kors belt that I got on sale from Marshalls! I love bringing out the black even more.

Who doesn’t love a pop of red!

Instead of wearing a black silk blouse, I opted for a solid black shirt from Old Navy. I love the fabric and it works better for running around.Ā

This read blazer ties the whole outfit together. I typically only wear It around Christmas but have been wearing it more with dresses and pants in the spring and summer for a pop of color.

Lastly, how cute are these shoes?! I love the ruffles and how they can dress up an outfit. I have had these for a few years and love to break them out to change up my wardrobe.Ā

I also accessorized with pearl studs and a pearl ring along with a silver necklace.

What are your thoughts on the outfit?! Love it? Too bold? Let me know in the comments below!

Look of the Day #113

LOTD

Hello All!

Happy Thursday! This summer has been flying by and Iā€™m trying to hold onto to the summer days as much as I can.

If you havenā€™t caught on yet, I have been alternating between fun summer outfits and business casual outfits for looks of the day. Last week, I shared a casual summer outfit and today I have a dress that I know can be worn in so many fashions.

Itā€™s no secret that I love Marshalls and find some of my favorite pieces there. I have had great luck with finding professional dresses as well as sun dresses.

This dress is one that I scored recently. I love the cut and style of the sheath dress and the shades of blue complement my skin tone.

I wore it to work with a pair of sandals and I felt comfortable and cute. However, add a pair of heels to dress it up for a dinner party.

A pair of heels and pearls for a dressed up look

Another suggestion is to swap heels for wedges for a more casual look and add a jean jacket for a cooler night.

Wedges and a jean jacket for a casual look

This is the perfect summer dress and Iā€™m so glad I got it when I did. I know I will be wearing this dress for years to come.

A pair of sandals by the pool

How are you spending your weekend? Enjoy the last few weeks of summer for they are fleeting!

Look of the Day #112

LOTD

Hi folks!Ā

Itā€™s Thursday! One more day till the weekend! I donā€™t know about you, but I am ready for the weekend. Iā€™m planning on visiting college friends after work on Friday and enjoy a summer fun weekend. The weeks are filled with work, so I am always down for an entertaining weekend. Since, I will be having fun this weekend, I figured it was time for a fun outfit to go with it!

This ensemble was giving me all the nautical vibes, put me on boat and let me sail into the sunset. Hey, a girl can dream!

Letā€™s break down this look.

Summer Fun

This pinstripe shirt, is one of my favorite pieces from GAP, it can be layered, worn solo, dressed up or down. I wore it layered here,I wore it to work here, and now I am wearing it dressed down. I love the soft material and the soft blue and white colors. The versatility of this shirt allows you to mix and match outfits without breaking the bank. Iā€™ve tucked the shirt in for more professional looks, but I was going for a more carefree style, so I left it untucked.

I opted for a pair of high waisted shorts from Marshalls. These are my favorite summer shorts. They donā€™t wrinkle easy and are a good length, not to short and not too long. I loved the way it let the thin blue stripes pop against the white shorts.

Close Up of the Outfit

Lastly, I decided to finish off my outfit with a big daisy necklace fromĀ Francescaā€™sand daisy drop earrings also fromĀ Francescaā€™s.I donā€™t wear this bulky jewelry often, but when I do, I want it to stand out. A pair of sandals from Old Navy, completed my outfit.Ā

This finishes off my look of the day. Itā€™s crazy to think we are heading into Augustā€¦soak up these next few weeks of summer! Enjoy the weekend!

Look of the Day #111

LOTD

Hi guys and gals!

We are almost to the weekend. I canā€™t believe we are already in the middle of July! Summer slow down! After the short week last week with the Fourth of July, I am back into a routine of summer.Ā

Todayā€™s outfit is one that Iā€™m very excited for! I firmly believe all girls should have a little black dress in the collection. It doesnā€™t have to be super fancy or flashy, but something simple and elegant, and can be worn for a date night, dressed up look, or office wear.

Hello Little Black Dress

I got this little black dress from Old Navy on sale, I never would have guessed I would find this there, but I couldnā€™t be happier with my purchase!

I opted for an all black look. I wore a high black heel, not only to make my legs look longer (haha) but also to make the dress more formal. I wear these for formal occasions, and got this pair at Marshalls!Ā

I then opted for add a monogrammed clutch from Marley Lilly to the ensemble.Ā

Everyone loves a monogram

The outfit is put together and can be worn to so many places without breaking the bank. As a college student transitioning to young adult life, I believe you can look good and put together without breaking the bank. If you look good, then you will feel good!

Spinning into the weekend

Whereā€™s your favorite place to wear a little black dress?

Look of the Day #110

LOTD

Hey guys!

Happy Thursday and more importantly, Happy Fourth of July! Today is such a special day not only to remember those you gave their lives for our country. They paid the ultimate price for our freedom. The Fourth of July is one of my favorite summer holidays. My family and I always throw a big picnic with swimming, grilling, and family. What more could you ask for?!

If you are still looking for a last minute outfit or some yummy treats to take to your picnic, you can check out this postĀ here. If you are throwing a family picnic, you can check outĀ this post all about planning for your party!

Todayā€™s look of the day is so versatile, you can wear it to a casual Friday at the office, a low-key dinner get together, or even a more dressier picnic. If you have been following my blog for a while, you know how much I love to wear outfits on more than one occasion.

I love these white capris. Perfect for an early day at work, family barbecues, drinks with the girls, or a day shopping. I got these at American Eagle a few years back and I have gotten so many uses out of them, truly one of the best purchases from American Eagle.Ā

This blue and white blouse is from Old Navy that I got on sale. I have worn it to work before with dress pants, but I love how it looks dressed down with capris. I may even try a pair of white shorts with it.Ā

Lastly, these slip-on shoes have been my go-to for the summer. They really add a pop to any outfit you are wearing and they are comfortable.Ā I got this pair at Marshalls. I love all the unique things I find there.

Where would you wear this outfit out to? Work? Date night? Family picnic? Let me know.

Have a wonderful and safe fourth of July!

Always rememberā€¦land of the free because of the brave!
