Fall Outfits

Hello all!

Happy Wednesday and Happy October! After holding onto summer for as long as I could, I’m fully committed to fall. The leaves are changing, the mornings are cooler and I’m all about the warm and cozy inside. Since we are in the fall season, I thought it would be appropriate to share some recent fall fashion finds.

I picked up some of these pieces in the summer and some in the fall and couldn’t wait to wear them. I know these will work both in the fall and winter and will be great transitional pieces too from one season to another.

Let’s start with a dress! I picked up this short-sleeve dress from Marshall’s on sale. I love to pop into Marshall’s and T. J. Maxx for their work dresses and home decor, I typically go in for one thing and leave with five more, whether it’s clothes, shoes, home decor or even a snack. I always have luck at Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx and Home Goods.Β  What I love about this dress are the colors (the gray, brown, black and orange are perfect for fall), I love how short-sleeved it is so you can wear it as a transitional dress between seasons or add a blazer to it and I love the style of it. It’s by Calvin Klein and I love the way they fit on me. This dress is a 10 across the board!

I had been on the hunt for a brown blazer to add to my wardrobe. I already have blazers in black, navy, white and red and was looking to add a brown/tan one to my collection for business attire. I got this blazer on sale from J.Crew last summer and couldn’t wait to wear it in the fall. I love the color and texture of the material. I love the cut and style. I actually have it in blue as well, when you like the fit of an item of clothing, there’s no shame in getting it in multiple colors. I appreciate the fact it can be worn with different items. You can pair it with a pair of dress pants, a blouse and flats or pumps. You can also wear it with a skirt and heels. You can wear it over a solid dress, or another twist, wear it with jeans and a top or booties or flats. One blazer and so many different ways to wear it.

Lastly, this black and white polka-dotted long-sleeved top is going to be great for fall and winter. I have so many blouses, but many are short sleeved, which isn’t always helpful in the winter. I have a few long-sleeved blouses and I’m always looking to add more to my collection. This top from Ann Taylor will be paired perfectly with black dress pants and pumps or flats, or it can be worn with a black pencil skirt too. Again, another example of one item of clothing paired multiple ways.

Having a few new items in my closet makes embracing a new season a lot more fun! I love being able to bring back some favorite pieces each season and bring in some new items too!

Tell me, what fall trends are you looking forward to the most this season? Let me know in the comments below!

Summer Closet Refresh

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week so far!

At the start of the summer season, I did a bit of a closet refresher for some work clothes. Whenever I am out and about I always see what dresses or tops are in stock at Marshall’s or T.J. Maxx, but back in May, I made a trip to the outlets to get some deals and get a few clothing staples.

Here’s a bit of a summer clothing roundup of outfits I have been loving this season and wearing to work. This is a mix of dresses, tops, pants, and blazers. I got a number of items of clothing for the fall season too and will share those once the weather gets cooler, but why rush the warm weather and sunshine? We all know the cold weather will be here soon enough.

Here’s some of my favorite new clothing items from a recent shopping haul.

J. Crew pink dress– Pink has been my go-to color for summer. I wore this dress for my birthday back in May and it has easily become a new favorite dress. I got it from J. Crew. It’s professional enough to wear to work, but could also be a great dress to wear to a bridal or baby shower, a cocktail hour or even a wedding depending on the dress code. Some of my favorite details include the V-neck top, and the flowly-ness of the bottom. You can dress it up with a pair of heels or dress it down with sandals. I would tend to dress it up for a fun summer occasion.

J. Crew Coral Pants and White Blazer-I teased this outfit a few weeks ago, but here’s a full look of this blazer and pant combo. Both the white linen blazer and coral/pink pants are from J. Crew. The black and white top is a few years old from Calvin Klein.  I have been adding more blazers to my collection. So far, I have a black, navy, tan, red and now white blazer, all great colors to mix and match with dress pants. I think this white linen blazer is great for the summer season. I paired it with the pink pants which just makes the outfit fun, but you can pair this blazer with navy or black pants.

These pants have been so fun to mix in with my wardrobe. I told you pink has been my color this summer. It can be a hard to find a top to go with a pair of bold pants, but I have found neutrals go best. I wore the black and white top with it, a plain black top and a plain white blouse.

I typically go with neutral pants, but these bold pants are fun for summer and are professional too. Once again, I wore white heels from DSW to match the blazer and white piping in the top, but you can wear a neutral or even pop of color heel with them too. If you are looking for a more comfortable look, you can dress the outfit down with sandals or a white or black sneaker too.

J. Crew Sweater Set-This next look is a bit more conservative and would probably be best worn in the office. I love a classic sweater set and light blue has been my other go-to color this summer (remember the tennis skirt and dress from Amazon?). I love the matching short sleeve and long sleeve sweater. I am always cold no matter the temperature outside, you can catch me with a sweater on most days at my desk. This matching sweater set kills two birds with one stone, not only is it professional, but comfortable and you can shed a layer if the temperature changes through the day. Once again, I wore white pants with this sweater set, but you can wear navy blue pants or maybe even a tan, depending on the color. You can also match this sweater set with a navy skirt too.

Ann Taylor Floral Top-Back with the pink, but throw in some white. I really love Ann Taylor for their tops. They always have so many different prints and colors to add to a dress pant or even blazer combo. In this outfit, I paired this floral top with a pair of navy blue pants and heels. The top is sold out, but here is one similar. You can pair this top with a pair of white pants, black pants or even a neutral skirt. I love the colors in the top and the little bow too. This would work great for a day in the office as it pairs well with suits and skirts, but I still think you could pair with some capris if you want to elevate a casual look.

Ann Taylor Purple Top– When I saw the color of this top, I knew I had to get it. I have purple tops and pink blouses, but not this shade of the two. I am always on the hunt for bright tops and patterns, and this certainly checks the boxes. I actually have this same top in white and when you find something you like and that works for you, there’s no shame in getting it in another color or two. Unfortunately, it’s sold out, so I don’t have a link for it. Because it’s a brighter and bold color, I would recommend a neutral pant or skirt, white would be best in the summer and black would work well in the winter. As far as skirts go, any neutral works well. If you want to dress up a casual look, you can pair this top with some fun jewelry and capris (I would recommend white capris or jeans), then add some fun sandals or made a pair of cute sneakers.

That’s a peak into my closet with my summer wardrobe for work clothes.

Tell me, have you made any fun clothing purchases recently? What stores or brands are you loving?

Let me know in the comments below!

See you on Friday for another edition of Friday Favorites!

Spring Beauty Finds

Hi all!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having an enjoyable smooth week so far. As we make our way through April and Spring, you may be making the change from one season to the next, whether it’s by switching out clothes, home decor or beauty products.

I’ve been testing and trying some new beauty products this spring and after using them for the past month, I wanted to share my thoughts with you. These products are a mix of makeup and tools that I have been using for my skin for when I head to work. I’ve had luck by adding these products to my makeup regime and maybe you will too.

Here’s some of my new favorite products.

Skin

Let’s start with the skin. I really love Elf products and recently started using their power grip primer. It’s a gel and goes smoothly but it does feel sticky once it’s on your face, so I would recommend putting on your primer, then let it set for a few before applying the rest of your makeup. I have found that my foundation and my blush and bronzer stay on better with the power grip primer. It’s also affordable too and easy to find at most stores.

Face

For the face, I have been a powder foundation girl through and through for years. I still use powder foundation occasionally, but I recently made the switch to liquid foundation for workdays. I have been using Sephora’s foundation from their line “Best Skin Ever” and really have been loving it. I found a color that goes great with my skin. I typically use two pumps of the foundation and spread and blend it on my face. I also have been using the Sephora “Best Skin Ever” concealer too for my eyes and for cover up and have really been loving it too. The coverage is great, it stays on all day and it doesn’t get runny or smears through the day which is a huge win!

Eyes

I have really been working on my eye makeup and think I have found a system that really works for me when it comes to products and applying them. I start with my primer, then do my eyebrows. This brush is great for touchups, color for the eyebrows and smoothing them all out in the right direction.

I will finish my brows off my using this eyebrow brow lift to make sure everything stays in place. I typically will use disposable brushes to apply the gel.

I will apply concealer all over my eyelids, then use this Neutral Morphe eye shadow pallet for a light base over the concealer, I will use some of the darker colors on the outside and then use a bit of shimmer in the center. After the eye shadow comes the eyeliner and then mascara.

I will finish off my makeup by applying a bit of blush and bronzer and a bit of highlight too. Add some lip color, whether it be gloss or lip stick and you are good to go.

The final look using all my products!

That’s a look into some of my favorite products that I have been trying this spring. I try to stick with products I know and love, but it’s fun to branch out and try new things. Have you tried any new products that you love or any new techniques? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Glamming!

Bright, Red Winter Coat Review

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday and Happy November! I can’t believe we are nearing the end of 2022. This year has flown by. I feel like the start of November is the calm before the storm of the holiday season, a time to rest before it’s the race to the finish line. That being said, I hope you all are enjoying this first week of the new month.Β

November signals the start of more consistent cold weather on the way which is why it’s crucial to stay warm. I always like to dress in layers since I tend to get cold often and I love to incorporate pieces in my wardrobe that’s both functional and fashionable. A cute fall coat is the perfect solution.Β

I picked up this cherry, red coat from Old Navy when I was getting some fall clothes. You may remember the green and the striped shirts I picked up from the same trip.Β

There’s so many things that I love about this coat. First, the color, I love a bright, vibrant color in the winter months. There’s a few other color options still available on their website.

I have black dress coats and heavy-duty winter coats along with a trench coat that’s perfect for the fall and spring, but I love how this dress jumps out.

I really like the cut and style, especially the deep pockets. The cut is a bit boxy, which makes it easier for layering.

The versatility is another favorite thing about this winter jacket. You can dress it up with a dress for work or a weekend event, or dress it down with jeans and boots, for a more casual look.

In the colder months, it can be so hard to accessorize your outfits when you want to stay warm. A fashionable coat keeps you warm and is a great way to elevate your outfit.

There you have it, if you are looking for a reason to step out of your comfort zone when it comes to fashion, I hope this encourages you to do so.

Happy Winter Shopping!

Bringing Blazers into Outfits

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! Today, we are talking fashion, especially fall fashion. One of my favorite things about the fall season is layering clothing, from sweaters, to jewerly, even blazers, there’s so many fun ways to layer clothing and make your outfits cozy, comfortable and professional for fall.

When it comes to work outfits, wearing blazers is one of my favorite pieces of clothing to layer and accessorize. You can pair a blazer with dress pants, a skirt, even a dress. I love how one piece of clothing can tie a whole outfit together or completely change it.Β

Here’s a few ways that I incorporate blazers in my wardrobe.

With Dress Pants

I love wearing a blazer with dress pants to layer an outfit. Not only does it keep you warm, but it also looks more professional and put together. I got this blue blazer by J. Crew a few weeks ago and I couldn’t wait until the fall to wear it. I love how the neutral colors of the tan, blue and white. This is such a timeless and classic look that can be worn in any season. I also love the cut and fit of the jacket.

The classic blazer look

As a Pop of Color

Another fun way to wear a blazer is by using it to bring in a pop of color. Here’s the same dress pants and white top with a red blazer. Notice how even with the same pants and top, the blazer completely change the look of the outfit. That’s something I love about blazers, it changes the feel of the outfit.

Same basics, different blazer.

With a Skirt

This photo is from a few years ago, but I still wear this outfit to work. This gray blazer works great for a matching gray skirt or even black or gray dress pants. I like how a blazer can elevate the look of just a skirt and a blouse. This outfit works great for meetings or interviews or a day in the office. Even though the shades are a bit off, the blazer still works great.

Elevating a skirt and blouse.

With a Dress

This is more of a different look, but sometimes wearing a blazer with a dress could help double as a coat. It breaks up the the look of just one solid dress. I wore this light purple dress, but since there was a chill in the air, I added this black blazer as a jacket and for some dimension to the dress too.Β

Adding a blazer adds dimension and warmth to a simple dress.

Those are four easy ways to add a blazer to you wardrobe this fall season.

Tell me how you incorporate a blazer in your closet? Let me know in the comments below.

Old Navy Clothing Haul

Hello All!

Happy September! I know we are in a new month and soon a new season, but since we still have a few more weeks to soak up warm weather and sunshine before it turns to fall, I wanted to share a few summer/ transitional outfits.

I ventured into Old Navy to do some browsing and lately it has been a hit or miss for me. Sometimes, I find great pieces and other times I don’t see anything I need or want. The last time I was in, I scored some great, end of summer deals!Β

Here’s three outfits for three different occasions.

Date Night

These dresses have been a hit all summer! I’ve seen so many women wearing these flowy dresses all summer long. From dressed up with wedges or sandals to casual with sneakers. I like the puffy sleeves and the cinched top. I chose black since it’s a good transitional color between seasons and you can throw on a light denim jacket (either blue or white) to wear this dress in cooler weather.Β  I added a pop of color with these statement earrings. Here’s a similar dress.

Out and About

I am always on the lookout for different shorts or fun tops to add to my wardrobe. I love the denim look of the shorts and how they are cotton and have a more relaxed feel.Β

This top is perfect for the transitional weeks between fall and winter. I love the color and how it can work with shorts, jeans or even leggings as it get cooler.

Lounge Wear

I wasn’t even looking for lounge wear when I saw this two piece combo. This outfit could work for lounging around the house, cozing up after a day outside or even pajamas. Once again, the neutral black color works well for changing seasons. I like how the pants are cuffed at the bottom too and the top is flowy. The material is so soft too.

These are just a few items that I saw and immediately fell in love with at Old Navy. Let me know in the comments below what pieces are your favorites and where you are finding transitional clothes this time of year!Β

Business Casual Summer Outfits

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! I’m back with another fashion post for you. Last week, I shared some of my favorite summer dresses. As I was working on my list of summer outfits, I had a lot that weren’t dresses but still cute summer ensembles, hence the two-parter post!

This post will be more geared towards bottoms and blouses. These pieces can work for work, networking events, job interviews or a more polished summer look.

I’ll share the links with as many pieces I can find. Without further ado, here’s some of my favorite summer ensembles.

Pop of pink for spring

This first outfit is perfect for the early spring days. I got these soft pink pants from Gap a few years back. One of my favorite things abut them is the straight cut. It can be so challenging to find pants that are straight cut, not skinny and not a flair and these fit the build. I opted for a soft pink for a pop of color.

I did a big shopping haul from Ann Taylor at the start of the summer and got a lot of things on sale. This white top was one of them. I love the accent with the sleeves. I think it really elevates this top and adds a bit of flair to the outfit. I also like the detailing with the piping down the front too.

I also wore a pair or soft pink mules for shoes. Sometimes, I wear heels with pants, but other times I prefer a flat or loafer. Even though I chose soft, solid neutrals for the outfit, I like the pop of design for the shoes.

Bright and bold in the middle of the summer

This next outfit features more pink! I got this soft pink short sleeve sweater from Ann Taylor.

I love the bright pink color. It can be paired with a pair of dress pants or a skirt. I really like it gives off some early fall vibes but still summer with the short sleeves.

These tan pants are a favorite staple in my closet. One of the things I learned from my mom is to invest in those staple articles of clothing. These could be things like nice dress pants (I have good quality pairs of pants in blue, black, and tan), a few blazers (I have a gray, black, and blue that are must-haves especially for business and work events) and some nice blouses. I have some crisp white blouses along with some fun colors too that are great to pair with different pants and blazers. I got these pants from Ann Taylor and I wear them in all the seasons, they work great in the winter with a blouse and blazer or summer with a bright colored blouse.

I wore a brown pair of mules with this outfit. Although, it’s a slightly different shade, they still work great together. I got these shoes from DSW, my favorite place for shoes!

This next outfit says hello summer. I was on the hunt for a pair of white dress pants for a long time and I finally found them this summer at none other than Ann Taylor. I took this picture during the golden hour, hence the sun setting glare.

I really love that these pants don’t feel too much like a summer pant that you would wear on the beach. They are made of a thicker material that can work in the summer months. My favorite part about these pants is that you can pair them with almost anything, any color, any pattern or any style.Β

I opted to pair these white pants with a bright yellow top from yet again, Ann Taylor. I told you I took advantage of a lot of sales this year. I love the sleeves and the bright canary yellow. I plan to wear this top with black skirts, navy dress pants and black dress pants to change things up. You can even wear this top into the fall and in the spring. I really love the versatility that comes with this top.

I wore a white pair of heels with this outfit. I got these heels from DSW and I love the style and how comfortable they are. I was so pleased that I got them in black and navy too.Β

Another outfit I put together with these same pants but a different top was this combo.

This outfit is a bit more casual with the pin stripe top, but still professional. I got this top from J.Crew and I love how crisp it looks with the white pants.

Once again, these pants are from Ann Taylor.and the shoes are from DSW. I love how the pants are tailored and cuffed. This is the perfect summer combo with the blue and white and great for an even by the water.

That’s just a quick roundup of some other alternative outfits you can wear to the office, to events or a business casual meeting.

What are you wearing and loving this summer? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Shopping!

Summer Dress Round-Up

Hi everyone!

Happy August!

As we make our way through the final month of summer,Β  I wanted to share a roundup of my favorite summer dresses that I have been wearing this summer for work. I found all of these dresses at Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx, and Ross’ and most of the dresses are from great designer brands, hello Calvin Klein!! These stores are my go-to stores for professional work dresses. You can find the latest styles and sizes at an affordable price.Β

I also love to change up the colors and brands I wear and Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx, and Ross’ make it easy for me to do that.

Β

Here’s a look at my favorite summer dress so far:

I love a bright pink dress and this one does the trick. It’s a Calvin Klein dress. I also have it in a dark green that I have worn in the fall and winter months, but I love the pink for the warmer seasons. The cuffed sleeves and raspberry color are some of my favorite parts about this dress. You can wear it to work, church or even out to dinner or a cocktail hour. I also like that it goes just above your knee, a great length for women of any age.Β I opted for a pair of nude heels with this dress.

Bright pink to kick off summer!

If you are looking for a more flowy dress to have some fun in, this blue and white polka dotted dress is for you. It is a bit longer, but I have worn white heels, while flats, even sandals with it. I’ve even changed into sneakers to do lots of walking and it’s one of those dresses that can work with sneakers. Β The dress is by Anne Klein. The material is a bit thinner and softer which is perfect for the hot and humid days. I often wear this dress when temperatures hit the 90’s or higher.Β  This dress would be great for work, church, a baby or bridal shower or even a date night.Β I decided to wear a pair of white pumps from DSW from a brand that I’m loving!

A perfect polka-dotted dress.

From pink to blue and now green. One of my favorite parts of this dress by Calvin Klein is the sleeves and the color! I love a good teal dress and don’t have any other dresses in this color.Β  It’s a great mix of blue and green, but the hooded sleeves is a favorite of mine. I don’t have any other dresses or tops with these types of sleeves. This dress is one of those that can really be dressed up for a summer date night, church, even a wedding with the right jewelry and shoes. It’s also…so it’s the same material and length (just above the knee) as the raspberry dress.Β I wore a pair of nude heels that I got from DSW as well.

Going green for summer.

This next summer outfit is one of my FAVORITES. After months of searching, I finally found a professional jumpsuit. I have a casual jumpsuit from Old Navy that I wear on weekends, but I was looking for the right fit and style for work. Jumpsuits can be tricky to make sure it fits properly in the legs, and torso. This baby blue jumpsuit it by, you guessed it, Calvin Klein. I really love how the dresses fit on me and the quality of them too. Once I find a designer I like I try to find other dresses or outfit from the same brand.

My favorite summer outfit!!!

Now, back to this jumpsuit…I really love the pale blue color since I don’t have any other tops or dresses in this color. I really like how the neckline is a bit different too. I’m not a huge fan of V-necks, but I liked how this one fit on me. The legs have a bit of flair to them so finding shoes may be the trickiest part. I opted for a pair of nude stilettos. I have worn this dress to work and a wedding. It’s definitely dressy enough for a wedding, a date night or even a girls night. I would recommend a thin heel to offset the flair of the pants. This has been a favorite summer outfit of the summer.

Taking a break from my love for Calvin Klein, this soft blue, almost lavender dress is by Tommy Hilfiger. There are two things I really love about this dress. First the unique color. It’s a soft lavender with a tint of blue. I also love the flowy sleeves, since they are a bit dramatic, simple jewelry would go best with this dress. This dress would work great in the spring and summer from church or work. I also wore my white heels with this dress.

I love the soft color of this dress.

I always love dresses that can be worn in different seasons and this one checks the boxes. This soft tan dress from Calvin Klein has short sleeves that allow the dress to be worn in the summer months. I opted for a pair of nude pumps to match the dress, but it can be worn in winter too. You can add a black blazer, wedges, or black heels and wear it from October to February. I really love the neckline with this dress and I love the versatility of it too. This would be a great dress to wear to work or an interview or a networking or social event. I paired this nude dress with a pair of nude heels.

A dress for any season!

That’s a wrap of my favorite summer dresses so far. From different colors, to styles and brands. I really love that I can get all these name brands dresses at affordable prices from stores close by. If you are searching for some new dresses to add to your wardrobe don’t forget to check out, Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx or Ross’, you never know what treasures you will find! Happy Shopping!

Fashion Fun Ways to Organize

Transitioning Your Wardrobe

Hi everyone!

Happy Wednesday and more importantly, happy May! May is one of my favorite months of the year. I love the season change from spring to summer and the possibilities of a warmer month ahead. There’s nothing better than fresh flowers for a new month.

Speaking of the changing of seasons, now that we are finally into consistent warm weather, it’s time to change wardrobes from winter and spring to spring and summer. There’s a variety of ways to organize or switch over your clothes. Some do it by season, others do it by colors, a few may do it by what’s worn most to what’s worn the least.

If you are planning on making the switch from heavy clothes to light clothes, here’s a few ideas. This works for both girls and guys.

I organize my clothes by color. In my closet, I have all my hanging clothes situated from light to dark. I start with white (on the left side) then go yellow, pink, red, purple, blue, green, brown and black (to the far right). These are all dresses, blouses, sweaters, and light jackets or blazers (I keep heavy coats in a coat closet downstairs). This is a mix of long and short sleeve dresses (for all seasons). I like keep all my tops and dresses in one area. I don’t rotate them out for the season and here’s why: There are random days in March or April where you could have 75-degree day. Rather than having to dig through clothes in storage, I like to keep them all in one spot. Behind my black dresses, I have any pants and formal dresses.Β

A look into my closet, it’s small but does the job. Hanging clothes on the bottom. Hoodies and hats and scarves on the shelves in clear bins so I can see everything.

As far as drawers go, I have one drawer with winter tops (turtlenecks, heavy sweaters, long sleeve tops), then a second drawer with shorts, short sleeve tops). This is in addition to pajamas, workout clothes, bathing suits etc. in other drawers.Β  Having warm and cold clothes in separate drawers helps me be mindful or what I’m wearing when. It also saves me times when I am looking for more relaxed clothes, I’m only looking in one drawer in the colder months and another drawer in the warmer months.

Whenever we switch seasons, I always take the time to do a quick try-on and sorting of clothes. This doesn’t have to take too long, just set aside time and make it a point to sort, (I do this between winter and spring and then summer and fall). I’ll go through my closet and see what I’ve worn recently and what I haven’t worn, what fits and what doesn’t fit.

I always hope there’s things I can get rid of and donate to others. I did a big sort through a few months back and go rid of so many shoes too, some I hadn’t worn in years but kept holding onto just in case (we’ll get more to this later on). When I sort through clothes and shoes, it also allows me to see what things I’m in need of too. Why keep an old white t-shirt that doesn’t fit or that’s stained and taking up space when I can get rid of it and buy a fresh one that first better?

Here’s a few other tips that may work for you when it comes to transitioning your wardrobe:

-If you don’t love how you feel in it, don’t keep it. Why hold onto something you don’t feel your best in?

-If you haven’t worn it in the past year, make a point to wear it in the next six months, if you don’t wear it then, it’s time to say goodbye.

-Keep a running list on your phone of things that are must needs for your wardrobe, this is especially helpful when you get rid of things and you are looking to replenish.

These are just a few tricks that have worked well for me when it comes to the changing seasons for clothes. None of these are life changing hacks, but it works for me and maybe they will help you out.

I’m always open to new hacks for organization. What are your favorite ways to switch out your wardrobe between seasons?

Fall Outfit Round-Up

Hi guys! HappyWednesday. I hope your week is off to a great start.

Now that we are in the midst of fall, I thought it was time for a fall outfit roundup. To be honest, the weather has been fairly mild, so I still am wearing some summer clothes and dresses. Some mornings its really chilly but then by 3:00 in the afternoon, it’s 75 degrees, it makes planning for outfits very challenging.

I have a feeling the deeper we get into autumn, the more I will have to transition from lighter to darker colors. I am ready to welcome fall with open arms. I’m ready for layers, sweaters and all things cozy!

Here’s two new looks, one for the office. One for a weekend or a day out and about.

Bright red for fall

This work dress is score from Amazon. I placed an order this summer and was really happy with all my purchases. To see some of my other Amazon successes, click here.

This red cotton dress is perfect for summer and fall. It’s affordable, easy to clean and great quality. It’s light enough for summer and the hot days, but a great transitional piece for changing seasons. I may even try and wear it in the winter with a blazer and tights.

I love the Peter Pan collar and the cut and style of the dress.

Overall, this was a major win for me!

If you are looking for a casual look out of the office, I have an option for you too.

A casual look

I went for a fall walk and train ride a few weeks back and it was the perfect time to break out some fall clothes. I got the top from J.Crew for Christmas and couldn’t wait to wear it. I love the detail in the collar and the puffed sleeves. It’s a classic look for spring and fall.

The vest is an oldie but a goodie. I got it from Francesca’s several years ago and it was a staple during my college years. It’s lightweight and perfect for the start of fall.

I paired the outfit with a pair of new leggings from Target. I’ve only worn them once, so the jury is still out on them, but I was pleased with the color and the comfort especially after walking all day. We will see how wear number two goes.

Lastly, I rounded the outfit off with a pair of shoe boot wedges from Payless. I wore them a lot in college but haven’t worn them a lot recently. I was happy they are still comfortable and durable.
